And the owner texts her so much stuff "i must have to hire new girls" "i need housekeepers" so she quit. She isnt gonna take that from someone who coudlnt even take the time to train her. My girlfriend tried to get her last check with our joint bank account. The owner found out im her boyfriend and is now taking really unprofessional jabs at me through my gfs txts. We got my gfs check this morning and didnt respond to her boss immediately and woke up to plenty of texts from her more about me the boyfriend dissing me. We said we got the check and want her to leave us alone. She keeps insulting and spamming us currently after my girlfriend is fired and got paid. After she said "cant even clean a fucking room" i called her and yelled at her to stop texting us. Hotel does got nice bedding though. Idc this is no way for a owner of a business to talk to absolutely ANYONE

We arrived from southeast Michigan with plans to take a month to explore the U.P. and relax. Queen…read moreCottages proved the perfect place to do just that. They are aged, rustic cottages on Big Shag Lake. As long as you don't need all the acoutrements of home or an upscale hotel and manage your expectations of a cabin in the woods, you can certainly have a terrific visit. Cons - furnishings, bedding, linens and housewares are all a bit tired and worn. No A/C can be unpleasant if you happen to stay during an unusual hot spell. water smells of iron, you share space with spiders, and the shower is tiny and dark. Pros - Quiet setting on lakefront property, rowboat included, motor and paddleboat available for rent, firepit and grill available, property set way off the road so the only traffic you'll hear going by is on the lake. Lots of windows allow you to take in the outdoors and a passing breeze. Gary and Su and very gracious hosts and work hard to ensure guest satisfaction. Molly, the resident dog, is one of the best behaved dogs we have ever seen and very lovable. Deer sightings, raspberries and blueberries are plentiful. Sunrise from the cottages is breathtaking, and with a brief drive to the other side of the lake you can enjoy an equally pleasing sunset. Proximity to Marquette, the airport, Pictured Rocks, numerous waterfalls and other areas to explore make it a great central location. Very comfortable--if you keep in mind that we are talking cabins. Wi-fi, satellite TV, hot tub, plus accouterments you need (like canoes, firewood & heads on the wall). Towels & linens are supplied. But don't expect a dishwasher. I have no complaints, really. Not everything works perfectly, but then would they call it "cabins" if the facility operated like a 4* hotel? What would it take to get a five star rating out of me? I'm not sure. Maybe EITHER more rustic & secluded OR more luxurious & refined? The qualifications noted should help you match your expectations.

You also didn't need to go too far to enjoy the towns around Au Train. There were a total of 11 people and the place sleeps a good 14. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed our time at the cabin. Ages 2-80 and there was something nearby for all to do. They also have cable and WiFi in the cabin as well so if you want a little down time it's available to you. It was a 6-6:30 hr drive for us but it was worth it. I definitely recommend this place if you have a large family looking to enjoy some time together out in nature. They do offer a smaller cabin next door to this place as well.

The hotel was dog friendly, clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The free breakfast was better than expected and gave us a good start each morning. Our room faced South Bay of Lake Superior, which made for a beautiful view -- especially at sunset (though you'll need a little patience, since the sun doesn't set until after 10 PM in the summer!). The location was convenient with lots of great activities nearby, making it easy to explore the area without driving too far. Overall, this hotel added comfort and relaxation to an adventurous trip. Would definitely stay again when passing through!

The price was high for a room with a lake view but their season is not very long so I understand. The location is good just a mile into town and a short drive to the western sights of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park. The room was decent nothing fancy except for the nice balcony looking out to the lake. Unfortunately the strong north wind and cold front limited our ability to sit outside except for a short bit. Welcome to Lake Superior at the very end of May! The breakfast room was super tiny for such a big place and on a Sunday morning it was cramped and hard to move around. Overall it worked for us.

Furniture was modest and newer and the bed was super comfy and obviously high quality. Bathroom was updated with super plush towels and even had lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Shower was hot and lots of water pressure. Now, let me sing the praises of the manager, Tina. If I ever own a motel, I am stealing her. Lol warm and inviting and stayed when I called at 11:20 so that someone was in the office when we got there. She was attentive and when our air conditioner didn't work, she went above and beyond and at midnight, she went to the back to fix it and made sure we were totally pleased before she went home for the night. Outstanding service. For the price and for a small, privately owned motel, this is top notch. The owners should be so proud Stayed in room 14. We will be back.

It needed a fan in the bathroom There was a small table and chairs, mini frig and microwave. It could use black out drapes as each room had an outdoor light on all night. I'm glad I had an eye mask or I would've been awake all night. There is a good family restaurant called Family Inn next door. The road noise can be loud at times but we live in Milwaukee by a freeway so we are used to the street noise. The room we had was not very big, the door hit the bed. I should have asked for a double bed room as we would have had more room. It worked for us but I felt cramped.
