Johnny and Kayla have an awesome Barber shop/ hair & nail salon. Hoser has some great skills with the clippers, Johnny was super helpful with my boy Emmanuel to decide what kinda cut to get. Kayla made my baby girls hair so pretty and had great tips for maintenance. I've bought my boys to Gillo many times and he never disappoints. The set up for families with children is awesome. Hands down the best hairdresser and barber around. The husband/wife duo is amazing and fun. I'm a regular customer and my husband get his hair cut here every two weeks. It's more than just a trim, your treated like a king with a complementary beer and hot towel for exfoliating on your face. I went for a hair cut, color, and wash. You will have to book online in advance, not a problem. I have curly hair and the stylist knew exactly what she was doing and how to cut curly hair. I will NEVER go anywhere else! I booked a partial hair coloring service. I was new to their website and wasn't sure what service to book for a root touch-up or blending. It was $80. I walked in and told her that I needed help with lightening my hair roots evenly as it was looking choppy already. She said that I had not paid for that service, that it would be more time, and need to pay more but she would do what she could in the time I had booked. It wasn't my first time and though my hair is dark brown, it lightens very quickly to a blonde. She burned my scalp. the next day it was red and scabbed from all the blisters. I called in to let them know and a different lady apologized and tried to get me in for another appointment. No thanks. I am very disappointed with their service as it had been recommended to me. Don't go here! I just had a conversation with one of the snottiest salon owners I've ever spoken to. She didn't even identify her name or business when I called the number on her FB page. I am a former hairdresser, and this is not how I was trained to speak to customers. Never have I ever had to pay a deposit or book an appointment solely by cell phone only. She told me I should go to Wal-Mart instead, as they take walk-ins???? I've had my hair cut there an was completely satisfied, I just wanted to book an appointment in town. Second salon I've found in Corning that treats a customer with such disregard! What's happened to customer courtesy, AND professionalism? I had an excellent hairdresser in Chico who is temporarily closed. She was pleasant to speak with, listened to what I wanted and did a fantastic job on my naturally wavy hair for a more modest price also. She is worth more than she charges, this is why I always left her a good tip, as an ex-hairdresser I like to show my appreciation. Plus, I've had both of my Covid shots so I'm good to go! read more

I had appointment to have my eyebrows done. I have been doing them for years. My trip back and forth is 1 hour. Her first review of my eyebrows was that she couldnt do anything. After back and forth discussion I didnt feel comfortable having her do them as she couldnt guarantee the outcome. Which of course in the cosmetic world is obvious. But she went on so long about it that she made me nervous. She charges a $100 cancelation fee per her website. However she offered to charge me the $50 consultation fee, which I agreed to pay. When I went to pay she said I had to pay the cancelation fee. I didnt cancel. I came from out of town for the appointment. Her then backing out of the consultation fee was not a reputable solution. And she said, thats OK. I can charge the website! read more

I had my eyebrows micro bladed at Red Door Salon and I couldn't be happier!!!! I did a lot of research before committing to have this procedure done. I looked at salons from Ashland, Oregon to Chico, Ca. to make sure I could find the most qualified person and I did Red Door Salon !!! The owner is so nice and accommodating to whatever you desire your eyebrows to look like , I wanted a more natural thinner brow and she did Amazing, the owner gave me exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with her services !!! So a $200 eyeliner job will cost me $625 and 4 appointments!!!!!!! Not a happy client! Think twice!! My co-workers and I went to Mykala at the Red Door Salon the Friday after Thanksgiving for permanent eyeliner and eyebrows. Maykala was very nice, and she was only $200 for the top and bottom eyeliner. Her lines are very straight and even too. However the product that she uses is not. Our "black" eyeliner turned a silver blue right away. She told us that "was normal" and it should turn black after it healed. It never did. I went back a second time the very beginning of January to get a touch-up for $100 to turn my "blue" to black. Once again it never turned black! I then had to go to a different lady to get a color fix which cost me $200. The new lady asked what was the brand ink she used and Maykala refused to tell me what brand and said that she would like to try to fix it again, but it would cost me another $100 (maybe bad product? Not made in the USA?). After my co-workers and I all had to be touched-up due to our color issues, we would have to go back again to try to cover up all the blue which will cost $125!! I think she needs to make this right. read more

11.25.2016 three of us girls from work had appointments at the red door salon in corning with mykala. my two co-workers wanted permanent eyeliner and i wanted my eyebrows done. mykala asked me what i wanted in the way of shape for my brows and i told her very specifically that i wanted them to look as natural as possible given that i had very little hair for brows as it was. I am over 50 and a bit "conservative" so i asked her not to make them "too thick" or "too dark". It took her almost two hours to mark up and measure my eyebrows. One look in the mirror and sure enough i looked like a "mad bird". I told her I was so sorry to have taken up her time but I had changed my mind. She very kindly offered to retry the mark up so I agreed to let her try again. Very quickly then, she rubbed and scrubbed and redrew them on. I was a lot happier with the second attempt so the brows were tattooed. It was not until I got clear home and looked in my own bathroom mirror that I noticed that the right one was a bit shorter than the left and quite a bit lower on the inside than the left. not happy at all with the placement although the color was okay. my aftercare was followed to the letter but just the same the brows ended up splotchy and faded almost immediately. mykala attributed this to my diabetes. only one problem with that....i am not diabetic. last weekend i had them redone. they could not be "fixed" but have been made "better". i can't believe how "off" the measurements for my brows were! the lady that worked on my brows actually had a stencil that she used so they would placed correctly on my face. i can live with this. my permanent eyebrows have cost me a lot of time and money. i think mykala should have at the very least tried to work with me on this but didn't even try. read more
