Plus, there's a great path that winds through a forest, and I thought it was an amazing opportunity to take some photos of the plants there; I could imagine the scenarios featuring the forest as a part of the Black Forest in the fairy tales I like to read sometimes, such as Little Red Riding Hood with the Big Bad Wolf (except different, of course). There are big dinosaurs and fake palm trees. The big dinosaurs are awesome! There are two sections of playground, swings, a sandbox, bathrooms, and an asphalt walking path around the park. There is a little kid playground and a big kid playground. The playground area is rubber. Outside of the playground, there is a sandpit with tons of sand toys inside. The park was very clean. The surrounding area is beautiful with big green trees. This is a great park!

In this case, the City of Vancouver has outdone itself with a fabulous venue (think easy, free parking; quick exit; lush lawn seating; awesome views of the stage; clear sound system). But I'll leave that out and talk objectively. First up, the playground. It's nice, clean, and one of the biggest I went to as a kid. I thought it was really fun then, and it seems to still be the same now. There's plenty of open field space. Some made up for baseball, some just grass ready to run in OR play any game you want. Speaking of baseball, Rister Stadium's right there. As you're driving in, it's on the left. I'm not sure if it technically counts as "part of Tam O'Shanter Park" but it sure feels like it. There is PLENTY of parking. I remember as far back as before they added all the nice new paved lots. This park is also kind of "in a corner" for lack of a better term. What I mean to say is, there's other parks in town that can be right off a street, or even entirely surrounded by streets or other things. This is a big park, and secluded enough. Overall, I find there to be plenty of fun for the entire family. This is a frequently visited park, and very popular. Be sure to check out the drive-thru Christmas Lights every December! For what we can see, they have honey buckets for people to use. A nice playground, that I've not seen before. Ventura Park, according to their website is home to Portland Parks & Recreation's first pump track! A continuous dirt loop that can be ridden on a bike without the need for pedaling. It is not designed for skateboarders or BMX riders. The pathway are paved to the play area. We can watch kids play in the playground, by sitting and having lunch from our car. I could see people having a picnic on one of the tables. We will have to come back here & enjoy more of what they have to offer.

A slide that was cracked 2 years ago now has a sharp half edge at the bottom while the other half is missing. The pad under the equipment is torn to hell and needs to be replaced. All the swings except 1 work and that's my daughter's favorite things. Much like the dilapidated and old park near the aquatic center rather than remove the broken crap they leave it for kids. There are potholes in the mat under equipment everywhere. Its a dangerous hazard. The actual jungle gym is nice, but everything else is garbage. Moss and mud are underneath things. Someone needs to fully repair the ground, change the underneath to chips maybe, replace the swings, replace the slide and add the seat back to the helicopter. Evergreen is a shithole and this eye sore is no good for my daughter. Talk about a company that doesn't care.

Not well trafficked, seems always empty when I pass by to check the Pokemon Go gym that's there. Water tower park or the school grounds across the street seems to get more traffic. I wouldn't call this a destination park, but a nice spot if you live nearby with pets.

My only complaint is that there are dog bags provided in this park but yet people don't clean up after their pets. My sweet little Bella always barks at me if I don't see her do her business because she knows I need to clean it up. The park has about 4 picnic tables under a rain shelter, a small playground and a concrete path that circles the park.
