We still give Monty sedation meds because he gets so anxious and also working on getting him more comfy with tools at home. Dixie Paws is easily located in Downtown Woodland so you can explore while your doggies get a safe spa day! They also have lots of toys for doggies and it's always just a pleasant visit, even though Monty is a stress ball, we are sure he is very grateful to everyone there for taking such good care of him! He smells good and is always a handsome boy coming out! I also wanted to note that their rate is super reasonable compared to other places we called up initially. Thank you Cassidy and team! Please note that they are currently undergoing construction so you will have to access the building from the back entrance! As of 4/2/2026

It's been 8 YEARS now. And we have another dog lol, and this place never fails us. My shitzu (black…read moreand white) boy isn't the best. Growls and doesn't like to get groomed and they put up with us. My terrier (brown) doesn't like it either but that's more anxiety/fear base then aggression. The groomers always give me an update how it went after, it's almost always an hour for each dog. 2 hours in and out. They get a full bath, nails, hair cut and anal glands cleaned. My only advice is BOOK IN ADVANCE!! This place is great. We moved out of town years ago and I still make the drive here. It's where we first came and as long as they are here, we will always make sure this is where our boys get groomed. 10/10 every time. Thank you sooooooo much. - Frijol and Nopal's mom

I bought three small goats, admittedly without knowing much about them. The breeder I got them from…read moretold me that there was nothing to it and research online suggested it was fairly straight forward. It wasn't. On the third night, one of the little guys died suddenly. I called every vet in the area and none could or wanted to help. Frankly, I was not expecting to get any help at all. After all, the goat was dead, but I wanted to know the cause and prevent the other two from shuffling off their mortal coils. We were also very saddened by this. Enter Dr. Varga. I know there are angels because she's one of them. She came, took a look at the goats including Jambo, the one that had died. She then provided a plethora of preventative shots, gave me advice on feeding and care. She also volunteered to take the little guy to Davis for a necropsy. It's hard to explain how grateful I am. As saddened as I was, I felt suported and really felt that she cared deeply about animals. This wasn't just a job for her and for that, I'll always be thankful.

We adopted two cats from this rescue, and we were treated with courtesy and professionalism…read more Blythe is incredibly dedicated to the animals she cares for while finding them decent homes. She appears to be the real deal. When our cats were old enough to be spayed/neutered, the staff provided transportation for the surgery to and from the vetinerian. There was no cost to us for the surgey Some of the animals Blythe takes in are at the end of the road- injured, disabled, recovering from trauma or illness. Most folks don't have the patience or time to save an animal in dire straits. It's admirable, to say the least. These Karens complaining about smelling pee or getting feelings hurt by staff are just being petty, trying to discredit these folks doing good work. Find something more productive to do. Blythe and crew are doing a tremendous job.

To anyone complaining or reading complain to here about smell or presentation, this is not a puppy farm or puppy mill this is a place in which animals are brought to be helped and saved. I read someone complaining about the smell, of course neglected dogs and cats who are being saved are going to have a smell. Here is a perfect example. I was speaking with Blythe and she tells me she's gonna have to call me back. I contact her the next day and find out that someone had randomly left five dogs somewhere while moving. She stopped everything she was doing to prioritize, saving those dogs so of course when she went to get them, it was not like she was picking them up from the groomers, but the exact opposite and yes they smelled obviously it's not her fault the dogs were left in that state, she did everything she could to get them healthy get their shots up to date and to make sure to find suitable homes. When I first read the negative review, I was skeptical and i was being very critical. Don't believe everything you read here keep in mind. There is a bunch of people trying to sell puppies vs save them.
