Drive in, order your beer and drive away. Always find these in college towns.

This will definitely be a place to go when we visit our friends. This is what the name implies, a bar, nothing else. They have tables, seating at the bar and high-top tables. They have a few food options, mostly appetizers with a few sandwiches and quesadillas. We did not get any food since we had just eaten dinner. Apparently, their cowboy candy is the most popular item, its candied jalapenos over cream cheese with crackers. Maybe next time. They do sell bottle beer; it is really what most of the alcohol consists of. They do have their menu divided into categories so if you know what you are looking for it helps. They also have draft beer which rotates throughout the year, so there might be something new on the menu. I personally am not a huge fan of specialty beer like sours, and porters, but my husband is so he really enjoyed looking through the different options. I honestly cannot remember the two beer my husband tried but I know one had a really high ABV and the other one was really sour. He seemed to enjoy both, so I guess that's good. I choose to get a glass of wine instead. They have only a few wine options but also have mead. I have never had it before, but our friends were very much fans of it. The wine selection is small, but I just went with a Moscato. All in all, this is a fine bar if you are in the area. I would say if you were not a beer fan this might not be for you. They do not make any liquor style drinks only beer and wine. All in all, not bad, we would for sure go back when visiting friends in the area.

I got my lottery tickets and decided to investigate further. Well, Kenny's selection is very good, especially for a grocery store in Orange City or north of Orlando. I found very good bottle, recent releases, and lots of fancy European beer. I absolutely recommend this shop to any craft beer enthusiasts. Remember: not all beer or beer types age well.

In fact, I've seen some bottles there that not even ABC or Total Wine carry. That being said, I think the store would be better considered a beer museum. Seems like 90% of the stock is ANCIENT. I've never seen so many old, dusty bottles in one place. Based on the stock in the cooler, it's clear that most of their sales are coming from fizzy yellow macros, malt liquors and FMBs (which is normal for most liquor stores). But if you're going to cater to the craft beer crowd (as it appears they're doing based on their Facebook feed), you can't be having IPAs that went out of code during the Obama administration on your shelf at full price (or at all, for that matter). Prices are also way higher than average. Probably about 25-40% higher than what you'd pay at ABC or Total Wine. Sure, they've got a lot of high ABV, rare releases like Founders KBS, Bell's Black Note, and pretty much everything from The Bruery. BUT, since the stuff is so old there's no way those prices can be justified (if they were fresh off the delivery truck - maybe, but not when they're covered in dust). Lastly, what this store really gets wrong is that they don't let you mix-a-six. Mixing a six-pack of 12oz bottles is standard operating procedure at every true bottle shop. I saw a lot of 12oz singles I wanted to buy, but I didn't want the entire 4 or 6-pack. To be fair, they do have a shelf of a handful of selections they allow you to mix, but even the average Publix has a bigger selection than this. KENNY, if you're reading this - please contact me! I'm a professional craft beer consultant. It's my job to make stores like yours realize their potential. P.S. Why is it called Kenny's Grocery? There's very little food sold here. The vast majority of their wares is alcohol, smokes, and lottery tickets. It should be called Kenny's Vice Dispensary.
