Good pickleball courts and great staff. Reservation website is not intuitive and busy. Reservations or memberships are expensive!

It was my second time here for axe throwing. The first time was okay, nothing to write home about…read more The second visit disgusted me quite literally and figuratively The food was nasty and bland. We had the nachos, charcuterie plate. One of the pieces of cheese looked rotten. In the room next to us, some unattended youth were playing and one of them casually screamed a racial slur. The employee at the axe throwing heard it, the situation was reported to management and the result was the same: nothing. I'll save my hard earned dollars for elsewhere because only if the staff would have heard, they would have done something. Yikes.

I'm getting up there in age, and friends my age have been transitioning to pickleball. I tried it several years ago, but my knees weren't having it. Decided pickleball wasn't for me. Fast forward a few years. A friend told me that there was a friend on Facebook that was starting a pickleball group. I asked to join the group. I like staying social and active in my old age. For our first get together we decided on a location that was centrally located of where everyone was coming from. I'm in Hillsboro, one was from Vancouver and another was coming from Troutdale. We decided on The People's Courts. I like that there was plenty of parking. I entered the building and it was spacious with plenty of courts, good lighting. I got there early and since I hadn't eaten yet, went to The Kitchen (I love the reference to "kitchen" in pickleball!) to see what they had. There were a few vegan items, I ended up getting fries and a coke zero while waiting for friends. When my friend that made the court reservation got there, there was a mix up with his reservation. He tried to reserve online, but was unsuccessful. So he called and spoke with someone. The problem was that the reservation was for last month. Availability was now more limited. We ended up getting an outdoor court for half an hour. I actually liked playing outdoors, though it was a warm day. We got The Bunker down in the basement for the next hour. I kind of liked it down there because it was private and had fun music playing! We didn't really know the rules, so we just rallied around. It was a great workout! Upstairs, it looked like plenty of courts, plenty of seating areas to gather and be social. Ping pong tables, corn hole thingies. I saw an arcade. Everything you need to have a fun time!

Was blown away on the drive out from Portland, coming down 43 following the Williamette River. The area and neighborhoods surrounding this park are just beautiful. The park itself is everything you want it to be. Swings and play structures for the kids and a water fountain/splash play area popular in the warm weaver. Bathrooms. Basketball courts. Tennis courts. Walking paths. Covered picnic area and large open field. We attended one of the Music in the Park concerts and the band was Girl Can't Help It, a Journey cover band. They were absolutely fantastic! Totally rocked it! They are playing on the Spirit of Portland in September. There was a very large crowd gathered on the large rolling green field, but it never felt crowded; everyone had plenty of space. The Music was hopping so there were lots of people dancing in front of the stage. There were families and groups of friends everywhere picnicing and enjoying the music. What a fun evening! The free music and concerts in the park is one of my favorite summer activities. Now that I have discovered Tanner Creek Park, I will proactively seek out their schedule so I can enjoy music here often. It as just that good!

Good for all ages. --Tied for best water feature (the revamped one in Willamette Park is fun too) Tanner Creek is home to the Music in the Park summer concert series and is a popular meeting place for families and teens all year round. West Linn is a mix of natural/traditional parks, best represented by Willamette and Mary S. Young, and new parks that have popped up in the newer housing developments that are much more state of the art. Tanner Creek has a nice covered structure for parties, tennis and basketball courts, and large grassy fields. The only thing that is missing is river access. That is why most of my time is spent at Willamette Park.

I came with 3 friends, and they had a good time. I called a couple days prior to make a reservation. I made the reservation for Friday at 3pm until 5pm. I was coming from Hillsboro and encountered congested traffic. I saw that I was going to be 15 minutes late. I called to let them know, and they said no problem, they shifted the reservation to 3:15. That was much appreciated! We started playing and had a lot of fun. The people that work there are super friendly! I got to try out the Titan Ace machine. That was so much fun and quite the workout! I would use it everyday if I could! I would sign up for a membership in a heartbeat if I lived close by!

There are also many tables available and a lounging area. The facility is equipped with free wifi to boot... There are also two water stations to fill up. One of them has hot water. The bathrooms are very clean, as if I cleaned them myself... The best part is that they have many programs for all levels from open play to round Robin to group and private coaching.
