Embedded in Washington Park (see what I did there?), this is in close proximity to the Japanese garden (a paid experience). The Oregon Zoo and Pittock Mansion are not far away. The marvelous array of colors and varietals will astound you. Be prepared to be spellbound. On a clear day, the views of downtown Portland and beyond are spectacular. The visual experience is a lot to take in, and in the best way possible. If you can find a place to park, you won't be disappointed. Maybe you'll be inspired to up your garden game too.

It's like nature threw a party and invited every rose in the world. Peaceful enough to hear a twig snap from across the garden. Perfect for sunbathing or reflecting on important beaver matters, such as: "Should I chew this?" "Is this chewable?" "Would chewing this get me kicked out?" Every sniff felt like a tiny floral explosion right to my soul. Truly enriching for a creature whose usual scent palette is 'wet wood' and 'mud.' I'd waddle back any day--just try and stop me! As it was late April, there were not a lot of roses yet in bloom, but it was still nice to see the garden and all the other sites in the park most of which will have to wait for our next visit.

So, within the "park", there's Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, International Rose Test Garden, and Children's Museum -- all require admission feee. The park and trails are free. Washington Park is hands-down one of the most incredible urban parks but I only had time to check out Portland Japanese Garden (separate review). I did walk the perimeter of the Hoyt ArboretumFor hikers and nature lovers, this is a gem.Washington Park has a free shuttle that loops around all the major attractions (seasonal). Parking can be a little tricky during peak times, so plan ahead or take public transit. The cool thing is getting around Washington Park -- there's free shuttle that's takes you to all these places within the park so you don't have to stress about limiting parking spots. Yelp Tip:There are plenty of quiet spots with tables and open lawns to relax between visits -- so do a picnic. Highly recommend carving out time in your Portland trip to explore it properly.

This location is incredibly convenient, with everything I need within walking distance. The prices are reasonable, and it's not as large as the Nike company store. One of the things I appreciate most about this store is that it carries some items that I can't find at other locations. Overall, I find it a decent place to shop for Nike gear. The store wasn't overwhelming due to the sheer volume of products, and the customer service was exceptional. The store wasn't overly crowded, which made it a pleasant shopping experience. In addition to Nike gear, the store also has a good selection of running shoes. However, I did notice that a lot of the shirts I purchased ran two times smaller than what I'm used to. For instance, I usually purchase a medium, but a medium felt like an extra large, so I would have to go with a small, and even that felt a little large. So, be mindful of that when visiting this location. I think this is a pretty good Nike location. I haven't had the opportunity to compare it with other Nike stores in Portland, other than Beaverton, but I was satisfied with my purchases and the overall experience at this store.

I had taken group lessons for a couple summers in 2013-2014 (a beginner in my 30s) but felt like I would be starting from scratch now, and set a goal to become a 2.5 player by the end of my package. Well I'm happy to say that, by the end of my 20 lessons, I have surpassed that 2.5 goal and Coach Brian is the reason! With coaching style that is based on positive reinforcement and encouragement, our lessons were highly enjoyable and I could see and feel that I was progressing quickly. Brian alternates between various drills and each lesson we would cycle through practicing ground strokes at the T, from the service line and at the net, serving, vollying, as well as drills to improve my reaction time, form, agility, etc. Brian's training has ensured that I'm not just good at one type of play or stroke and that I will be ready for all styles of game play. I'm so grateful to have worked with him and am completely obsessed with Tennis now!" Karen-Oregon
