Disclaimer: Tara is my older sister…read more After a rough divorce and year or two consisting of way too many IPA's and way too much toxic food, I found myself pretty overweight for the first time in my life, not mention I had become a grumpy jerk who hated the world and wreaked of negative energy. Once I realized just how overweight I had become in a short period of time I reached out to her for some diet ideas and after a few tries, her eating recommendations finally stuck (and they weren't even that strict!). I lost about 35 lbs in 90 days and I'm only 5'6" so that's a pretty significant shift. She helped me find ways to make and prep easy, clean meals that tasted great without revoking my Ribeye Steak card (this was huge for me, OK?). The meals also didn't take tons of time or effort (yes, it takes more time than ordering a pizza, but I digress). I do need to add that I did lots and lots of hiking, but only a little lifting. After losing the weight I felt completely renewed. Not just because of the self confidence boost the lost weight provided, but because I was able to feel fully rested after 6 hours of sleep instead of waking up groggy after 8 or 9. My knees, other joints and muscles now feel like they did 15 years ago. Over the next few months my outlook on life organically started to change and we have been diving into some spiritual transformations lately which are truly a gift. Sister or not, I honestly can't say enough about her guidance. Loving, compassionate, and patient. Good luck to all on your journey. You won't need any luck though. You've got this!

I had been dealing with Crohn's-like symptoms and uveitis (another autoimmune disease) for over 14 years and I had seen many specialists over the years. After many tests with negative results, it was determined that my condition was idiopathic. Managing the symptoms with medication was the best they could do and that's what they did. The medications included steroids and the much more unpleasant chemotherapy drug methotrexate, until I could no longer tolerate it. In my first conversation with Tara about my symptoms, she suggested that it could be something in my diet. She mentioned eggs specifically, which were a big part of my diet. I was very skeptical, but I was so tired of feeling sick every day that I went along with her suggestion to stop eating eggs. I had nothing to lose. In less than a week, my G.I. symptoms disappeared. While I was very happy that I was feeling "normal," I was still skeptical that it could be related to my recent change in diet---it seemed too easy. A week went by, the two, then three and that's when I realized that this was here to stay! Both autoimmune disorders were aggravated by my egg intolerance. The Crohn's-like symptoms fully resolved and the uveitis significantly improved. I went from two severe uveitis flare-ups a year to one very mild one per year. To be fair, though, I continued to ingest small amounts of egg through baked goods and other products. My current work involves eliminating eggs 100% from my diet in an effort to fully resolve the uveitis once and for all. I could not be happier with my results. My only regret is not having found Tara sooner!

Whenever I am trying to work at a steady pace, and move from one machine to another, most of the other members are monopolizing the equipment by sitting lazily on the machines, all the while staring at their phones. Hey, after all, the seats ARE comfortable, and everybody else does it! What can a fitness center do about this? Well, it would be nice if LA Fitness could put up a sign encouraging members to stand up and move away at the end of their set, and share their equipment with other members. LA Fitness could even provide little chairs or small benches, for the smart-phone addicts to sit on between sets. As for me, I like to quickly do my set, and then move on to the next machine---combining resistance training with cardio training. My approach is designed for overall health! Hey, I thought "health" was what these fitness centers were designed for....

For most people, 80% of achieving anything is mental. The other 20% is the work involved…read more Scott's programs work to strengthen that 80%, undoing harmful self-narratives, and helping you align your subconscious and conscious goals. Many self-help programs work to teach you tricks and plans; Scott's programs help you rid yourself of self-sabotaging habits, and at the same time, train you in strategies to overcome your natural resistance to change. The techniques Scott uses are well-documented as effective, and my personal experiences with Scott's program backs this up. I am working with Scott on his career program, and in the course of the program, Scott has helped me to identify the best long-term career path for my lifestyle, and has helped me define a clear path to achieve those goals. It's work on my part as well; this isn't a fire-and-forget kind of program. But in working with Scott, I'm finding great insight into my own limitations and developing the tools to get around those limitations. I'm over half-way through Scott's program, and I've got a much clearer idea of how to achieve my goals, and the momentum to carry myself down that path. I definitely recommend Scott's programs for anyone who is struggling to achieve a goal, whether it's fitness / weight-loss, career stagnation, or anything really. Retraining your mind to support your efforts is the key to long-term, long-lasting success, and Scott's programs are a very effective means to get you over that hurdle.

Rather he has a wide range of strategies to support people in resolving relationship issues, negative self-talk, ways we limit or even sabotage our own success, weight issues, and just about all other challenges or concerns. I initially worked with Scott on some family issues and was amazed how differently I thought about them after my session with him. I was easily able to translate these shifts in perspective into behavioral changes that have really supported those family relationships. In addition, I've been injured a lot, so I next worked with Scott to gain understanding about that issue and stop getting injured. The insights I received were fabulous, and the work I did with him continues to yield very positive results. My granddaughter had almost debilitating negative self-talk when she played her college sport. She worked with Scott just one time and now feels confident and secure in her playing abilities. Her transformation facilitated by Scott is truly remarkable. I give Scott my highest recommendation for all those who are looking to make very positive, healthy changes in their lives.

What was frustrating to me is that some of the advice I received was useful and some of it was baloney! The first appointment was spent with the provider talking on and on and making generic recommendations, we didn't even go through my medical history! Then a few red flags popped up (recommended expensive, $300+, not covered by insurance DUTCH testing for "estrogen dominance" and other distractions to waste your money), and a real push for me to start seeing an ND even though I didn't want to. I'm just glad I checked with my gynecologist about the usefulness of the test (it's not useful) before wasting my money! I did find the staff to be kind and personable, hence the two stars instead of one. Originally, I booked an appointment with Carolann because I was interested in trying to lose weight using hypnotherapy. After meeting or talking on the phone with half a dozen hypnotherapists, I settled on Carolann because she came across as genuine, caring, empathetic, and an experienced professional. Plus, she had a soothing voice which I thought would be perfect for hypnotherapy sessions (call her and you'll see!). Shortly after I began working with her, I ended up going through an unexpected and traumatic life experience that lasted two years. Carolann served as my therapist during that time and I credit her with keeping me sane. She provided me with a safe space to vent/process. She also was a caring and empathetic listener who asked insightful and thoughtful questions which helped me grow, become more self-aware, and better cope with my situation. And finally, she served as my unwavering champion during this time period, and I so appreciated her warmth, empathy, and support. It has been over two years since I last saw her and I still find myself drawing on some of the tools/insights she taught me. That traumatic life experience is behind me now (which I'm thankful for) but as strange as it sounds, I'm grateful for the experience because it brought Carolann into my life. I'm a better and more healthy person today because of her. She helped me understand myself better, taught me how to tap into my inner-strength, gave me the courage to be vulnerable and lean on my support network, and she showed me how to deal with life's challenges in a positive manner. Whether you're seeking a hypnotherapist or in need of personal therapy, I can't recommend Carolann enough. She's truly an amazing and gifted therapist.
