That I had guilt and needed counseling and could never meet expectations that were expected of me because I can't stick to rules. The person he described is not me at all, and anyone I have shown it to is shocked at how far off he is. I don't know if he did it to be "safe" or if he did it because of it being "forensic" but after only spending 20 min with me and coming to the conclusions he did is awful. I paid a lot of money so I could fulfill my dreams, showing to be compliant not because I HAD to, and it ended up hurting me because he didn't actually get to know me. I went to the cheapest person available and I regret it. If your future is on the line and you aren't just seeking personal healing, I'd choose someone else. I will say when he met with 20 minutes he seemed genuine. He seemed caring and if I was seeking him for anything other than what I was I'm sure he is great. Again... I think it was the reasoning of why I was there that set how I was treated.

After I went by his office to schedule the appointment, Dr. Pugliese personally called me to pick a day and time that was convenient for me, and he saw me within a week. On the day of the appointment, as I entered his private office, it looked just as I'd imagined a mental health professional's office would look. Very refined and relaxing. We met for quite a while as he acquired my personal information. He was very calming and relaxing. He genuinely seemed interested in me, even though I was not there for mental health counseling. When I next went into a private office to take a rather detailed standardized mental health evaluation, his staff made sure i was comfortable. I couldn't be more pleased with his manner and professionalism. I hope I never need professional counseling, but if I do, I'll definitely call upon Dr. Pugliese.

I brought it up to staff multiple times and they told me to "quit talking about it". In my residential stay I witnessed two male staff members get in a physical altercation with each other. The care was terrible, it was so hard to see a medical doctor if needed as well.

There was a teen around the age of 14 who was in there for sexually abusing their younger cousin yet they would still room this teen with other patients who had been sexually assaulted and this teen tried to pressure one of his roommates into sexual acts. They didn't move the unit they were in until someone decided to punch them because they were tired of them trying to touch other teens inappropriately. They don't really care about your treatment care they will just throw meds at high dosages in your face even if you said it wasn't working for you they'd just up the dosage and add another med onto it. I left bringing home 8 medications that didn't help and gave me painful side effects. The therapist I had didn't care about what I had to say or why I was in there she refused to believe what was going on with me or in my home would just blow it off and say that I wanted to be in control of everything, when that wasn't true I was tried of living in a abusive household and she just said I was trying to control the people who were abusing me. Do not send your kids or teens here especially for a long term stay!!! I'm 20 now and just figured out that some of the meds the prescribed me were causing me to have something we believed were seizures. They don't care about treating you or anyone! I made a request for an appointment online, received a call back promptly. When I called for an appointment I was told no appointments available. Okay no worries. Then ten days later I get another call asking to call for an appointment. Called and told that I would have to be placed on a waiting list. The previous clerk told me incorrectly. Waiting list specifics, no end in sight. No idea if it could take years to see a therapist . Her attitude was so sad too bad for you. No wonder our mental health system is in a sad state.

After two appointments, they cancelled my appointments because I have to have a referral from the VA. I previously asked if I needed to do anything special to get seen here the answer was no. Come to find out, after a phone call with the VA, I need to have a referral for community care. I started that process and Informed them I was waiting on a referral now. The next day, my appointment that was months away, was canceled. I had been waiting to get my medication, that I desperately needed, and had canceled the appointment I was previously seeing with my VA psychiatrist. Now, I'm without medication until October or someone hopefully cancels with the VA.
