I have…read moreseen a chiropractor in the past for the same issue and all he did was treat my acute pain over a few sessions and told me to come back if it ever happened again. To me that is only relieving the problem for a short period of time, prolonging possible injury or destruction of the tissues and bone and not preventing or healing the body for years to come. Dr. Schmidt has shown me how to fix, prevent and maintain my neurological, muscular, and spinal problems. Just a month ago I developed severe neck pain, upper back pain, right arm numbness and stiff muscles that I could not lift my arm elbow high or turn my neck. After several days of having this pain I was referred to Dr. Schmidt by a co-worker of mine. I am 24 years old and would say that I have always been in relative good health; I have a very active job, never had any surgeries or major illness and overall thought my body was good and healthy. I shortly learned how much of a mess my body was and could not believe it. I have suffered from severe headaches my whole life that had virtually gone un-diagnosable, weekly stabbing lower back pain, popping and clicking in my SI joints, and the new short term symptoms of being unable to move my arm and neck that came with numbness and great pain. After my consult with Dr. Schmidt he immediately saw a need to get me on a right course of action to get me on a right path. I learned that I was in stage two of spinal degeneration, I had collapsed arches in my left foot, all were collapsed in my right, my pelvis was tilted and rotated, my right leg was shorter then my left by TWO inches, my entire spine from top to bottom was tilted or off center and the alignment was to the left, and the space at the top of my spine on the right where all of the major nerves go in to the spinal cord was very compressed and small. After eleven adjustments and associated therapies I can say in the last month I have seen a 90% overall improvement. My feet pain has diminished, I have not had one headache, my lower back pain and clicking is gone, arm numbness and tingling is gone, I can fully move my neck and body without pain. To me this has been incredible and have seen so many changes and I overall feel so much better. With Dr. Schmidt's care I have seen neurological, muscular, and spinal changes. I think I got mine from a vitamin deficiency when I almost starved myself to death in January. It started out pretty bad numbness from the stomach down. Now after a 2 month treatment it's mostly in my feet and I do have more feeling. Many people get this, naturally insurance doesn't cover it, and I'm on medicare. But I went all in before body parts started falling off of me. It's really not something to be put off or ignored. I signed up for the program. In the office there are 3 really cool machines to use and the infrared room. You can pick your music. You are sent home with a kit to soak your feet with electrodes. You also have an infrared plug in for your legs and feet. I'm gonna miss doing this on the porch as it gets colder. Also nutrient powders are included. I like that it's on the outer part of Woodbury. She has a great staff that are as on top of it as she is. She also specializes in weight loss/management. She has a lot of new clients every week and lists them on the board. I was in a motorcycle accident 5 years ago and went to a specialty chiropractor 2-3 times a week for a year at a cost of over 5,000$ out of pocket cost with insurance. If the joint was around, I would have received 80% of the service at 20% of the cost. I have been to Joints all across the country and they all have good to great chiropractors. They tend to not have poor or excellent ones, but this makes sense when you look at their business philosophy of not taking insurance or auto claims, and passing on the savings of minimal administrative costs onto the consumer. As for great and poor adjustments. I've had it all and the poor ones usually happen when I'm tired, stressed or had a physical set back and the great once happen when I'm able to let go and trust the doctor.

I felt the adjustments I received for the price were OK...nothing great. Then this location brought in Dr. Mitch Maristuen. He has been outstanding. I have even referenced 5 others to the Joint to see him. They have since changed over and will not see anybody but Mitch. While waiting for service, I have talked to others in the waiting room and got the same feedback. Given my experience with Mitch, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS A 5 STAR REVIEW. However, the owner let Mitch leave their employment, so I gave it a rating of 3 at best, which is what it was prior to Dr. Mitch working there. They will tell you he left for a better opportunity. I don't buy it. He was happy working there and was not looking to leave. Knowing how these types of businesses operate, my guess is they did not want to pay him what he was worth...especially considering the amount of business he brought to them. I am sure he will land on his feet somewhere. when he does, that is where I will be going. The other 5 people I brought here has said the same.
