    Chicken tatchos

Lots of fun here for vintage video game & pinball enthusiasts! Our server was helpful & friendly. Two of us shared the chicken loaded tots. So good. A full order is plenty of food for two as portions are large here. The ice tea was fresh brewed. Refreshing! A few small parties were going on and everyone looked like they were having fun. Recbar 812 is a fun place to spend an afternoon!

Never been to this location since it opened. It was my friends idea to come here after sitting on this place for a long time. We actually knew this place has been here a hot minute. Street parking is available beings they don't have their own private parking lot. We actually got a close spot. Going in, we didn't know what to expect. From my recollection, we explored the place first and it is larger than the Jtown location. We didn't order any food or drink beings we just ate. We proceeded to get our tokens and some quarters ( some games only take quarters). We were told by another customer there were more games in the basement of the establishment. We actually didn't know that and thanked the person. We did see the stairs coming in but, little did we know beforehand there were more games downstairs where we spent quite a good amount of time. It was mostly pinball games downstairs where there and some arcade games. Very glad someone told us there were more games downstairs there. We had an awesome time and who knows, we may even return.

The burger mac & cheese for burger week

Came here for burger week I will say the mac & cheese and stuff on this burger is better than the one I got last year at the 502 over in J town. Again 10 disappointed you can't leave things off the burger, but there wasn't a whole lot of sauce and I got him to give me a plate so I could quickly scrape off the offending onions and pickles. I ate onions and pickles, but it didn't seem to put my burger too much pickles didn't have a lot of juice and the onions weren't too pungent.

My family went to RecBar for 'Kids eat free Tuesdays' last night. Over the past couple years we've done this 3 times, among many other visits not on Tuesdays. I'll start by saying that the host greeted us quickly and was professional and the server was wonderful. When we first came to 'kids eat free', my kids ordered their food and got a whole pb&j waffle sandwich with the Mac and cheese. The most recent time, before yesterday, we noticed that it was now a half waffle and a smaller portion of the Mac. Last night, we were brought a QUARTER of a waffle with pb&j and a portion cup of Mac. My husband and I both ordered adult meals and a side salad plus we got an extra $10 in tokens so we weren't being cheap, not that it matters. Again, the service was great. I just feel cheated about the 'free kids meals' and so did my kids.

My honey and I went out for a late night treat and decided to try this neat little place out. Food was amazing, service was fantastic, and we loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be coming here again!

We attended a holiday party at this location. The atmosphere was impressive! There were sooo many games. Everyone should find something entertaining! Our service and food was average but the bourbon slush was amazing! Skeeball made it all perfect too!

This Rec Bar location has the best collection of pin ball I've ever seen! Paired with a fun bar-centric menu and great service, it's one of the coolest family nights (or friend nights) you can have in New Albany.

This is a go-to spot after a dinner date or on a weekend afternoon with friends. The real draw are the giant spaces with tons of arcade, video and pinball machines. The theme is carried through to the art on the walls and trading cards under the bar. One of the giant screens is always playing something nostalgic like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Don't neglect heading to the basement. The basement is actually a haven for us pinheads with more machines in one location than anywhere in a 2h radius. They also have air hockey, ping pong and an NES machine set up in the basement. The beer list is surprisingly robust, the cocktails are fine (the wine is limited). They have a food menu that has great themes (the tot nachos or totchos are so good) and is typical sandwich/bar food with a twist. They have a seating area for eating, with a good view of several large screens and from which parents can view children (if they stay nearby).

This place is one of a kind. We were in town for a wedding and decided to pop in for a quick drink not expecting to play games, but we couldn't resist! Lots of brews to choose from but even more games to play! This place is massive - you will not be bored coming here.

We visited Recbar 812 after the lunch rush on a Thursday afternoon. Our server was polite and attentive. The tots were fresh and so good! My husband liked his chicken sandwich and I thought the burger was fine. It wasn't the food that lead us to Recbar tho; it was the games! We had a lot of fun playing pinball machines, skee-ball, old-school arcade games and dance/step revolution along with a round of air hockey. Sometimes it was unknown how many tokens were needed to play a certain game and several machines were in need of repair (broken plexiglass, etc.). Overall, it was a fun time and budget friendly.

I love coming to RecBar. It's a lot of fun with all kinds of games to play. The food is good but mostly fried.

First, the tacos. I was a bit taken aback by the prices at $7-$14 per taco, but now I get it. These are definitely large and in charge! The fillings are super inventive and delicious. And their "love cushion" -- beans, guac or cheese in between hard and soft shells -- made me giggle and then made my mouth water. But even more than the tacos, I enjoyed the "munchies." The crispy brussels sprouts were my favorite, followed by the cauliflower bites and giant tater tots. I will be back for more of this inventive taco goodness soon!

For a plain chicken taco - I would suggest the Chipotle Chika - honey comes thru with the chicken while the queso brings the rich and creamy flavors Service is lacking a bit- and hard to get refills on drinks. Overall a solid 3/5 for a small local restaurant.

Today is Cinco de Mayo and I was feeling up to a delicious authentic Mexican meal. This restaurant has a variety of various Mexican dishes and albeit is rather pricey for their platters, which range from $19-$29 and appetizers from $8-$22. Also surprisingly I didn't find any sort of dessert at all unless there is a separate menu for that but I was never told that by my server, more on that later. The environment is one you'd expect of any authentic Mexican restaurant, a very colorful decor with lots of Mexican decor spread throughout with some Mexican music playing in the background to set the ambiance of this establishment granted I was sitting in the background of the seating area and couldn't hear this music if I were sitting in the front. On this visit, being my first, I decided to try the Nachos Delicias (Queso, tomato, onions, cilantro, sour cream and choice of chicken, chorizo and steak) I requested no onions and steak. I also tried their Quesadilla El Jefe Jeff (Stuffed with cheese, steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and sour cream) I requested no onions. The nachos were really nothing too terribly special outside of just being put in a somewhat fancy bowl to make them look or appear better than they were. They didn't taste too bad outside of finding the steak to not really be all that flavorful or seasoned. I feel for the price which was $18.50, that it could've been more for what I paid for. The quesadilla was absolutely worth it and was quite filling. Definitely the star of this meal however I was disappointed to find onion in my meal when I specifically requested there to not be. Outside of that is was quite good and something I'd order again. My biggest issue was there was only one server working and of all days it was on Cinco de Mayo which you as a Mexican restaurant should expect to be busy in which they were. Our server never once stopped to ask if we needed anything, no offer of dessert (which I am still not sure they offer) or even to ask if I wanted another drink. I don't see myself going out of my way to come here albeit it wasn't awful but the price for things was too much in my opinion. I feel that I've had better food for a lower price at other authentic Mexican restaurants. So just keep this in mind when deciding to stop here.
