At my first prenatal appointment, I sat in the waiting room as my midwife complained loudly to the receptionist that I had not completed any of my intake forms and it would set her behind for the day. It was absolutely humiliating to listen to a medical professional complain to their team about me. Upon discovering that my name was spelled wrong and they were sent to the wrong email, she did not apologize or acknowledge that it was not my fault that these forms hadn't been completed. At the beginning of the same appointment, I explained that I had a history of disordered eating and was not comfortable being weighed. I had not been weighed in 3+ years, therefore I had no pre-pregnancy weight to compare my current weight to. The midwife said she HAD to weigh me, but would hide my weight. After she weighed me, she promptly turned the computer screen towards me so I could see my weight. Devastating. This entire appointment start to finish was horrible. I got only a handful of words in the entire time. She talked endlessly about how overwhelmed she was about their new charting system and opened a can of soda halfway through my appointment. It felt extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. I ultimately left the practice when the midwife received extremely sensitive test results I had been waiting on and did not update me about them for over a week. I called and emailed several days in a row and was dismissed. When she finally emailed me to let me know the outcome of the test results, she noted that I had access to the same test results and could read them myself, as if I am a qualified medical professional and could have possibly understood what they meant or how to interpret the implications of the results. I would not return to Savannah Birth Center at any point. I have not had such an uncomfortable and unprofessional appointment in my entire pregnancy and would not return to a practice where such little regard was held for my health and my baby's health.

Breastfeeding can be really stressful and she made the process much easier. She is a great source of knowledge to things other than breastfeeding, general baby care. We left feeling relieved and more confident after each session.

She entertained my 3 year old who declared she was his best friend, made sure we were fed and hydrated, and accompanied us to two doctors appointments - one of which was early in the morning. I cannot express how grateful I am to have found her. First time around we had a lot of breastfeeding issues, and so I was very anxious about what was going to happen with baby #2. Helen and Pamela Holland were both super helpful and supportive, and I wish I had known them back then. I love the convenience of their office hours and the ability to have a PA/ NP or DR assist me quickly without having to worry about a pcp visit or worse an emergency room visit! The PA & Nurse were both so nice and friendly and got us taken care of so quickly. The results took 3-5 mins... now that's fast! I recommend them if you're in need of any urgent medical needs. They are certainly caring and friendly!

Dr. Edwards made me a promise: if I followed his instructions and did my part, he would allow me to go as far as I felt comfortable--as long as he felt both baby and I were safe. After experiencing a premature birth and a chemical pregnancy, I was willing to do whatever it took to bring my miracle baby into the world. Twenty-nine weeks later, we welcomed a healthy, full-term baby weighing 8 pounds and measuring 19 inches long. I moved to savannah two years ago and I was looking for a new OB. I was recommended to try Dr. Edwards but at the time he was not accepting new patients. It just so happens that in April of 2022 they had an opening and I was able to see him. First & foremost we love his blunt and honest approach to everything. I had a high risk pregnancy and I never once felt like I didn't know what was going on or how "serious" things were. My questions were never unanswered and I always felt at ease with him. If I could have him as my Doctor forever I would! After 9 months of visiting his office I was able to give birth to a healthy 7 lb baby & my c section scar is barely noticeable.
