My family has lived here for 2 years now. I asked around about the driving school and ran into…read moresomeone who was convinced that this company had all these hidden fees. I went in to Potts myself and asked all pertinent questions. They explained everything to me and when I forgot, I called and they clarified it all again. My son who is 15 1/2 said the class went well. He just completed the road portion yesterday and said Mr. Potts was very nice and informative during the process. On the second day of the driving portion in which my son had to be picked up from school verses home, there was a slight miss communication on where my son should be. Mr. Potts was patient in waiting and directing my son to which side to be at for pick up. If we are here in 1 1/2 years I will definitely take our other son to get his training here. There are 3 fees, but only 1 is mandatory. There is also a swipe fee. Cash and check (if I remember right) are excepted.

My son was able to take the class and complete driving within two weeks. Instructors were kind but serious, and provided constructive feedback. I appreciated that they required the students to develop a driving contract and review with their parents/guardians and sign. Benson Driving School team does a great job with communication and keeping the parents AND students up to date on what to expect/next steps. They were timely in there in person school options. We have been extremely pleased with the instruction as well as the communication. Many other driving schools won't return calls and the communication component is lacking. That is what my parents and I signed up for and expected. I did not expect that I would have to keep having lessons with my parents. Furthermore, the instructor was not explicit about the consequences of not getting a driver's license, beyond the obvious caveat of relying on other transportation. The instructor did not explain that many employers require a valid driver's license, and thus not getting one hampers the potential for job hires significantly.

According to her, the instructor was very patient and helpful, which is exactly what an anxious student needs. As a parent, though, it was frustrating. Trying to actually schedule in-car time can be a pain in the butt, and it seems clear they don't have any computerized records. It also seems they file by instructor name and class time, rather than by student, but that's a guess based on what they asked whenever I was trying to schedule things. The price is about the same as any other school in the area -- for my other kids I'm likely to check out other schools and see if their organization is a little more straightforward. (To be specific... I've been waiting a day for a call back once they "find" her records. Kid needs her car time to get her license, come on!)
