Budget place with 5 star views. This is nothing fancy but it does it's job. The loedge is located along side a steep hill side. They have parking, around 20 spots?? but is really tight. If you can't find a spot, there's so space to turn around and you have to do some technical car reverse maneuvers. There is no elevator/lift which is a bummer especially if you have a lot to carry and lotta of sports equipment. They do have a courtyard with a hot put and bbq area. the noise travels to all the rooms easily. Continental breakfast was cereals, yogurt, fruit, bread and a few Spreads with coffee. Basic but appreciated. Bedrooms are tiny, pictures look a lot better then in person. Towels are basic, not thick and fluffy. I added a photo of the shower, just one soap for all attached on the wall. The sink area has no extra hand towels, hand bar soaps or lotions. But I'm glad each room has our own bathroom. It's a tiny tv with a mini fridge. Got a toaster and hot water kettle. There is a ski shop and a bar downstairs. This place does the job. read more

Great views with a great price! If you are in Queenstown and want to stay at an inexpensive place with a bit of a walk from the main town, then book a night or more at Reavers Lodge. One star off for having a steep hill to walk on when going to the front entrance and for being about a $10 taxi ride from the town. The staff are friendly and helpful, and with all the hard work from either being the receptionist to cleaning our rooms (sometimes it is the same person, thanks Ayla!); the overall experience was nice and relaxing. It almost felt like being in a college dorm; from the communal lounge to the communal kitchen, even to the continental breakfast that consisted of cereal and toast, this was a fun atmosphere and provided for a more enjoyable experience in adventure filled Queenstown. read more

I only stayed here for 2 nights with my 3 other friends in one room, (so called 4-beds share room i guess?) i would say that i had a wonderful time here. This backpackers has a great view of mountain and outside hot tub!! My highlight of staying was that we had some beers with friends in the hot tub at night. Was just amazing!! was just indescribable ... Wifi connection was also stable i believe. Seems like there are many people, backpackers just working and living here for a couple of months. I bet you will meet some awesome people from all over the world. Only downside (well i wasn't bothered much tho) was it's a bit far from the town, and on the way back to the lodge, kinda long uphill is waiting for you,,, Overall, i would definitely stay there again if I have a chance to visit Queenstown again!! read more

Budget friendly lodge nestled in the heart of Queenstown. Walkable to the plentiful bars, restaurants, and shops in downtown Queenstown, just be aware of the uphill climb when returning back to the lodge. The lodge is not staffed at night, with only a number listed on the registration office in case of absolute emergency. Conveniently, our room key was taped to the office door and we had no issues finding and getting into our room. Our room was clean enough--couple stains on the carpet but nothing to write home about. The room was fairly spacious, accommodating a bunk bed, queen sized bed, fridge, closet, small chest of drawers, and a chair. Small private bathroom with hand soap provided and the tiniest trash can. Of note, rooms are not serviced daily. You must request at the registration office if you desire your rooms to be cleaned during stay. Wifi must be purchased if used in room but free if used in the common area or restaurant/bar. Continental breakfast provided from 7-9 AM. Options including cereal with milk, yogurt and granola, toast, tea, and instant coffee. Lunch and dinner options provided at a price, as well as hot beverages and alcoholic drinks. Our first night we opted for dinner at the lodge restaurant. Food was hot and palatable. Cider $6 NZD. Nothing impressive. The lodge has a quiet time 10 PM to 7 AM that is visibility posted throughout the lodge but not respected or enforced. We spent four nights at the lodge and 2/4 nights we couldn't fall asleep or were awakened by loudly talking patrons outside our door or music blasting through the next room. Other guests had attempted requesting the fellow patrons to quiet down--but only resulted in several minutes of quiet. I was tempted to call the evening number at the registration office--but does this count as an emergency? Hence, my concern regarding no evening staff to enforce the quiet time. Moral of the story, if you're looking for a thousand count silk sheets, peace and quiet, this isn't your place. But if you're looking to meet people from all over the world, enjoy cheap beer, and not get 8 hrs of beauty sleep, give this place a go! read more
