Location: I think I saw some reviews indicating it's close to downtown but it's a good 15 minute walk and I walk pretty fast. NZD$10 by taxi to get to downtown. It's even further to get to the iReal Journeys office where the glow worm tour starts and other tours pick up.
Service: The person at the front desk was nice and showed us how to use evyervjnf in the room. She also lent us some DVDs and let me use the phone by the front. It's interesting that the cottages are non-smoking but the front desk person and te receptionist office reeked of cigarette smoke.
Rooms: We booked the 3 bedroom cottage. The toilet is in a separate room and appeared new. The kitchen is huge and a bit of a waste of space. The living room has lazy chairs but we didn't really use them as they seemed a little musty and one section was puffed up from overuse. The whole cottage smelled kind of musty. The bed doesn't have much support and the top mattress slides a bit. Some of the rooms face other cottages so if you're unlucky like we were you'll have to close you shades. We had an elderly Chinese man for a neighbor who liked to wander around topless. That's definitely not the view we came to NZ for. :P There is a washer dryer we didn't use. There are no toiletries so bring your own. Shower pressure is very weak, which is interesting because toilet pressure was very strong.
I would look for other places to stay if I came back to Te Anau. read more
