Chris showed a true understanding of what we were looking which aided our search - eliminating spending time on homes that didn't meet our needs - and finding our new home. Prompt, professional, easy to work with - we are very grateful to have found Chris. We highly recommend Chris and his wife Stephanie if you are in need of a realtor.

Some account on Instagram asked if followers had any questions about real estate. I asked my question and Deanna answered, even though she wasn't the hired "expert" by the account. She was knowledgeable and I decided to take a chance and connect with her. I'm so incredibly glad I did. Deanna was always available to text and chat with me (within reason of course. No texting at midnight). She was there to keep this stressful experience as easy as possible. When we would think something was just normal for the negotiating process she would have a righteous indignation "No, they need to do this! That's ridiculous!" So that was awesome. So professional, knows what she's doing and was totally honest with us about decisions we had to make. I trusted her when she recommended certain things (which I'm so glad I did!) Deanna is a fantastic realtor with Mountain Star and you really need her help when looking for your home in/around Asheville.

Mahalia Kennedy is amazing! She was referred to me by a friend. As a typical first time home buyer,…read moreI required guidance and handholding. Mahalia was with me every step of the way with knowledgeable insights, practical information, constant contact and an awesome personality. On our first meeting, we spent a couple of hours on the Appalachian Realty couch going through the mls. Mahalia listened attentively to my responses and feedback in order to understand my priorities, preferences and what I was looking for in general. As someone looking for a "fixer upper," she envisioned new layouts with me as we walked through each showing without putting any pressure on me to buy. She pointed out architectural nuances and features that I wouldn't have considered (but would have regretted after purchase). Her vast remodeling experience was absolutely invaluable to me. Her network of laborers, fixers and do-ers came in with estimates for everything from hvac to pest control to removing popcorn ceilings. Mahalia is an asset in very facet of home buying and owning. The friend who had referred me had been looking for a turn key home, which she found for him on a very tight budget (which is virtually impossible within the current Asheville market). The only disadvantage to finding my perfect home was losing my frequent texts and visits with this fabulous gal!!

We also had health situations which made showing our home difficult at times, and Kathy was patient and professional in working with us when that occurred. Best of all, she was persistent - and sold our home in a reasonable timeframe at an acceptable price. In helping us locate a new home, we had very strong preferences, and again, she patiently showed us homes until we found one with which we're happy. Kathy's knowledge of the home buying process insured we stayed on track with inspections, walk throughs, mortgage issues, etc. We couldn't have been more pleased from start to finish, and feel confident recommending Kathy to anyone wishing to buy or sell a home!

From our first conversation, she was warm, knowledgeable, extremely organized and clear in her communication. We knew almost nothing about the home-buying process, let alone the complexities of the market in Asheville, and she made sure we understood and were aligned every step of the way. It took nearly a year to find our house in a rollercoaster market with a lot of ups and downs, but Anne Marie kept us level-headed and never rushed the process. She kept our needs and preferences as the top priority, gave us her honest opinion, and toured houses I'm sure she knew weren't the right fit in order to make sure we left no stone unturned. Once we were under contract, she took so much off our plates by helping us get quotes and expert opinions on multiple issues and meeting with countless vendors during the short due diligence period. We purchased our home without seeing it in person, which may not have been possible without her understanding of our taste and lifestyle needs. We're so lucky to have had such a patient and skilled agent when buying our first home. I can't recommend her enough!

All I can say is that despite being the most difficult personal real estate purchase I have ever been involved with, it was also, in many ways, the smoothest. I know it may sound contradictory, but please read the comments below, which I copied directly from my recent review. Thank you James and thank you Re/Max All Stars! My wife and I just completed a very difficult transaction - multiple sellers misrepresented the properties they were selling by claiming there were no deed restrictions when in fact, there were. One home looked perfect, however, upon inspection, we discovered numerous problems with most major systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and roofing, and multiple water incursions. All in all, over the span of nearly three months, and, through a total of four escrows, we were able to find and purchase the perfect home for us. James' attitude and professionalism were absolutely STELLAR. He not only went above and beyond, in every way possible, he did so with a calmness and compassion I have rarely seen. We have bought and sold quite a few properties through the years, and, I am a retired forensic appraiser - recognized by various courts - trial, appellate and supreme, as an expert in real estate. Despite the highly atypical level of difficulty, time, research and scheduling required to complete this transaction, James came through for us 100% of the time. We asked some unusual - and difficult questions and when James didn't know the answer, (which he usually did), he took the time to do the research and find the answers for us. James is not only very hard working, he is equally knowledgeable. We will DEFINITELY be using James again.
