I DO NOT recommend this business. They are dishonest and slow. I had a sunroom put in this summer…read more They lied to me about permit requirements: when asked if they had the permit - first they said they did not need one, when pushed they said they had one with the county, when pushed further they ended up getting one with the village 17 days after they started work. They did not get a structural rough-in inspection - they said they called the inspector and explained the build over the phone and was okayed. Village and inspector say no way that occurred. So we have no inspection on the structure - all we can do is hope it was done per code and lasts (already had two cracks in the walls). I asked the project manager at the beginning how long it would take and he said two weeks. A couple of workers there with him said probably 3-5 weeks. It ended up taking 19 weeks. Only two worked on it at a time and spent maybe 9-12 hours per week on the job. There were times a week would go by with no work done. Always excuses on their end. The roof had to be taken down and redone after project manager said it would have a certain pitch but he put up a flat roof. I could go on but I am limited on how long this can be. This company epitomizes "contractor woes"! One thing they were not slow about - they cashed the final check the next business day!! Save yourself the headache and find someone else to do your work.

Rockford Family Movers just saved us from an impending disaster. We sold our house and had to…read moremove. I had hired movers from Purple Heart Veterans in Florida. They are terrible. They are a referral service only. Purple Heart Veterans gave us a three day window for picking up our things. I was assured that 90% get picked up on your first choice of days. Well, they didn't even show up within the three day window. Finally, two men who were in an Enterprise Rental Truck pulled up. First things first, they wanted more money. A lot more. When I asked for a photo i.d., the head mover started yelling at me. I threw him out of my house. It was 4:00 in the afternoon of Friday, May 18. We had no clue what to do. i got on the internet and searched for a local mover. Luckily, my first call went to Rockford Family Movers. Steve answered his phone. I explained my situation. He was currently on a job. They would be done by 7:00 p.m. THEN THEY WOULD MOVE US 1480 MILES TO FT. MYERS BEACH, FLORIDA!! I asked him to please be sure to show up and he told me that his word was his bond and he would be at my house. He and his brother arrived about 9:00 p.m. They loaded our boxes and furniture and other loose ends and were gone by midnight on Friday. They pulled into my new place at 11:00 p.m. the next night. 23 hours of driving to get here. They unloaded all of it, assembled our bed, put boxes in the right rooms and even hauled out left over furniture. Then they got right in their truck and drove home. Steve and his brother are super nice guys. Polite, professional, friendly, accommodating. They never acted put out about anything. They delivered exactly as they said they would. Hard to find in this day and age. Again, Steve's word is his bond. We can not say enough about Rockford Family Movers. The price was fair. The service outstanding and the results fantastic. If you are reading this and are looking for a mover, then call Rockford Family Movers. You'll be really glad you did.

Having managed several successful small businesses myself, never before have I experience more…read moreunprofessionalism in my 20+ years of experience. First, their response time for getting back to you with a quote is horrible. And when I finally received a quote, it was not in writing. Second, when the day came for them to move me, they showed up late with a truck that was falling apart. Parts of it were rusting, one of the rear tires on the double axle was flat and hanging on the rim, the gas tank had a piece of plastic stuffed in it to function as a gas cap, and the truck failed to start when they tried to back it up to the storage unit. When the employees called the owner, he cussed a blue streak on the phone and hung up angrily. When he called his employees back again, his attitude was less than professional. The movers themselves were talking about how the truck was unreliable as well. They informed me that the owner would be there in 20 min and I told them to call me when he got there. The next call I received was not from the owner but from the moving crew that had been talking about how unreliable the truck was. I asked them if the owner brought another moving truck or trailer, and they informed me that they had managed to start the truck and were ready to move me. I told them I wasn't comfortable with them using that truck, to which they replied, "F^&K you then." The owner failed to call me at any time to inform me of what was going on or how he planned to complete the move. As a result of their poor customer service, I have now incurred additional storage fees. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business.
