It's actually quite chilling as I look back on my notes. Above all else though, she's incredibly caring and kind. She upholds a high standard of professionalism and is pretty amazing as a person. I was in the middle of a complicated relationship situation and really wanted some guidance on my love life. I was prepared to explain all this at the outset; I don't actually require magic from a tarot reader, just curiosity, and I find that having full context prior to a reading really informs the reading itself. However, this practitioner did not ask me a single question before she started laying many cards out on the table in a quick, automatic fashion. She jumped right into making predictions for my future--"career change in September," etc.---and asking me about things in my past -- "did something with your Dad happen in July?" that 1) I was not looking for, and 2) were simply not accurate, at least the questions she was asking about past events. At one point I even started feeling bad and looking for ways to make her past predictions correct, even though they were so off-base, because it was very awkward to keep telling her "no, not really." When I got curious and asked about some of the cards, she acted offended. I felt annoyed by that and I never got a deep read on any of the cards she pulled. Halfway through the "tarot reading" I booked, she seemed to get bored with the cards and switched to astrology. This annoyed me because I am really not an astrology person. I don't have my birth chart memorized and didn't know my time of birth off the top of my head. She proceeded to read my astrological chart anyway (which must have been inaccurate). She also had me "guesstimate" the birth time and birth place of the person I was in a relationship with. Based on this, she told me that our relationship existed in a "dead zone" and was destined to never go anywhere. I felt this was a totally inappropriate prediction to make on the basis of incomplete information (lacking birth times for both of us, and a birth place for one of us). In short, I am a pretty open-minded person but this experience was honestly quite bizarre. I would call it a total waste of money except that I got an interesting story out of it. It also clarified my interest in tarot. I am not interested in a fortune-telling approach to tarot, I am much more interested in using it as a tool for psychological introspection. If you feel the same, find a friend or acquaintance to read your tarot, not this service.

I've had various readings from other psychics in the past, and I've dabbled in tarot and oracle cards myself, so I know how this should go. A good psychic should hit on truths about yourself that they couldn't possibly know, that hit on something that rings true inside you. They can't see into the future, but uncover things you weren't aware of. It's therapy with a side of crystals and cards. I didn't have that experience in this reading, as not only was it very general, but some things were dead wrong. She called my family "corrupt," and that I should leave them because they'll "never change." I mean, we all have baggage, my family included, but corrupt? Nah. When she came for my mom, I knew this was a whole load of BS. Oh, and according to her, my boyfriend would never change, either, so I should dump him. Which was based solely on an anecdote about another client of hers who'd gotten into a relationship with a man who was using her for a booty call--not at all pertinent to my situation. There was no explanation as to why my boyfriend was toxic beyond that. He has issues, apparently (don't we all? and I'm more than aware of that?). What was amusing to me is that Ava said I was very smart and intuitive, yet then turned around and told me that I had a demonic energy blocking me from reaching my full potential. Which she could help with - for a price. Weekly sessions for 5-6 weeks could apparently cure me. If I didn't get rid of this, I never would. I'd be doomed to misery or something. This demonic energy was based on the Devil card being pulled from the tarot deck, I believe, and since she used what looked like all of the Major Arcana but no Minor Arcana, well, it stands to reason she'd pull the Devil. And Death. And every other doomsday card. She also asserted that I had angels protecting me. I already know that, but she didn't pick up which angel that was (again, I know who that is). I received no clarity on my situations. I left feeling like I'd been a part of something slimy and predatory. I'm only glad that I know myself and I know what a good psychic is like so that I didn't agree to continue with the weekly sessions to "cure" me. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
