This review is either overdue or right on time. I've been visiting Darleen for about a year on and off. So this review is factoring in my observations of her accuracy and how she's shown up when I've met with her over the course of the year. I've also kept notes from her readings and as I reflect on what she's shared with me, most of what she's read for me has been pretty accurate and consistent. It's actually quite chilling as I look back on my notes. Above all else though, she's incredibly caring and kind. She upholds a high standard of professionalism and is pretty amazing as a person. Booked a $200 session hoping for clarity on my love life; her website gave me the impression of a psychic reading, but what I got felt more like a general astrology-plus-tarot session. She uses the Placidus/Koch system, so if you do decide to book a reading, go in prepared with exact birth dates, birth times, and significant meeting calendar dates around your love interest. She doesn't list this on her website, which I feel she should, since her preferred system requires that level of precision. Her tarot instincts seemed sharp. That said, she wouldn't let me see the cards on the table, which really bothered me as a tarot reader myself. When she told me I'd drawn her card for isolation, I just wanted to know which card it was, and my curiosity felt unwelcome. She allows audio recordings but not photos/recordings of the tarot cards, which struck me as odd since tarot is such a visual practice. The astrology was light on the major transits for my year ahead and heavy on obscure asteroids, and the session kept drifting into my past and family including repeated questions about my retired mom's dream job when I'd come specifically to talk about my future + love life. I left feeling more deflated than enlightened. There's nothing she told me about my chart that I didn't already know from having astrology as a hobby, except the obscure asteroid stuff, which wasn't useful to me. Then after the session she revealed she'd been working from the wrong birthday for my love interest, which meant about 25 minutes of the reading were useless. If you're after a straight gifted psychic reader, a serious astrologer who does full birth-chart-and-transits forecast reports, or a tarot reader who lets you inspect the cards, I'd look for someone who specializes in each separately. Someone who claims to be all three is probably too good to be true, as I feel that was the case here. While her website does say that this is for entertainment purposes only, I assumed that was for insurance purposes or something. I would assume that people who have gone into this profession have some level of intuition, let alone acute prophetic gifts that allow them to "see" things most others cannot. I don't assume that any more. I am enough of an intuitive myself to believe that some people have an outsized "gift" in this area. I didn't see that from her. She threw half a deck worth of cards on the table in a circle, and that allowed her to "shotgun guesses" my way, most of which were wrong. Even when I helped her out, she didn't pick up on obvious things. I think she guessed I was in my twenties, an engineer who makes really good money, fresh out of college and looking to get married and buy a house. Your cookie cuter life plan predictions. Unfortunately for her, all of that is wrong, wrong, and wrong. I'm nearly 40, single, work in tech but don't have the job that makes the big bucks, and never want nor could ever afford a house in Seattle. I've failed at everything "normal" consistently. In 3 months it will be 2 years since I had a reading with Chrisopher Lamp. My reading was similar to what the others posted. A whole lot of tarot cards laid off and she picked one she thought had meaning for me. Her ending prediction was really off. She told me I would be married and having my own place in 2 years. This was my first time ever to any type of psychic, astrologist, or other type of spiritual worker. My expectations were minimal as I had just moved to Seattle and have really just been out exploring my new hometown looking for new unique experiences until I move into my house next month. I dressed very plain - black vneck Tshirt, khaki shorts, black athletic shoes with no accessories other than a plain black Apple Watch - as I didn't want to give off any subtle clues. There were several options; tarot reading, palmistry or a chart reading. I chose the chart reading - birth date, time and location are needed. Darleen said I could record it, but I chose not to. There are probably some things she could have inferred fairly easily based on my outward appearance and demeanor. However, Darleen made me a believer. The chart really connected with my past experiences, current situations and thoughts about the immediate future. She was able to call out specifics about my life that would have been really difficult to have known even if she'd done a Google search. For example, as we were exchanging pleasantries she said "I'm sorry but I'm getting some ear pain sensitivity from you in your right ear". I had a root canal 2 weeks ago and still have some minor sensitivity in my right jaw by my ear. Maybe 5 people would have know about that and it would have all been people back in Chicago. I don't leave reviews for things, but Darleen gave me the first professional tarot + astrological reading I've ever had and it turned out so uncannily accurate that I felt I owed it. Getting a reading was a bucket list thing, and I had no expectations. When I walked in she told me I had a headache. Before arriving I had already popped an advil. She asked if I wanted to record the session and I did with the intent to take notes later. The experience was lovely, and Darleen is a delight to talk to. She gave me very specific and insightful advice as well a few smoothie recipes that turned out to be bangers. I took notes on the session later, then forgot for the larger part of the year. A few days ago, I was curious and reviewed them. Several of her predictions had me absolutely reeling from their specificity, among which were: I would almost get married (which I forgot at the time, because I found it so unlikely). Stress in my spleen (I had to go to the doctor for a related issue later in the year) January as a major time, one in which I would leave things (a long-term relationship, amongst realizations about my identity as a trans person. This was my first time going to a psychic and I was definitely unsure of what the experience would be like or if anything she said would be accurate. Any doubts I had were immediately put to rest as soon as my butt hit the chair. She started to pick up on things immediately, personal things that she would have no way of knowing (details about relationships, my job, health, etc.). Overall, this was a very expensive, ethically-questionable experience. The session didn't even begin when it was scheduled, as she let us in (late, the door was locked?), and then left for about ten minutes. When she returned, she made a call to another client. So here we are, 15 minutes after we're supposed to start... and she barrels into incomprehensible astrological jargon. Obviously a newcomer won't understand the significance, but this was at a head-spinning rate: transitioning from one topic to another at light speed. And then, during the session the phone rang ... and she answered it! But, the absolute worst part of the experience? The 30 minute alarm chimed off and we went to leave, but she kept talking. And talking. And weaving in conversation to bring us back to our seats and keep listening, even though we were standing, waiting. After 55 minutes, she decided that since we opted to stay, we actually owed a full hour's payment! $150 later, and we walked out with the worst taste in our mouths: do yourself a favor and set your own timer. I went to Christopher Lamp yesterday afternoon and it was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. She knew everything about my life - my career, my family, my past and present experiences. She completely described the person I am dating - his physical appearance, his job. She even saw who I was having dinner with that evening. The reading was so good that I did my chart reading right after the tarot cards. It was such a powerful experience. My boyfriend and I came to Christopher's Lamp for a couples astrology reading last month and we loved it! Darlene knew so many charming details about us but what really struck me was the sincerity and truth with which she revealed many difficult subjects. It looks like some folks gave this a 1-star review because they got lost. For me, the obscure location in the underbelly of Pikes Market is a huge plus! I wouldn't trust a psychic located in a strip mall next to the local Walgreens. Walking down the wooden ramp to the less frequented 3rd floor next to all the little gypsy stores really sets the mood. The reading itself was a ton of fun. Who doesn't like to hear positive stuff about yourself? I found it to be creepy accurate. She seemed great at intuiting problem areas in the body and she was really knowledgeable about astrology. I would go in there knowing your exact time of birth for a more accurate astrology read.
