My first reading with Darlene was a little unsettling. I had just divorced my husband of many years and was heartbroken. One of the key pieces of insight from Darlene was my need to forgive my ex and move forward because there was a man coming into my life - she said he appeared to be an architect, draftsman, or artist because she saw him sitting at a drafting table and he was going to be a very significant person in my life. There was a lot more, but if I went into all of what she said that was spot on, I'd be writing a novel. I went to work on Monday and told my co-workers about my reading. Sam, one of my office mates, said, "yes, you are going to meet an architect. His name is Mxxx." I was amazed that Sam, too, was a (secretly) gifted psychic. I've seen Darleen more than a couple times now and each time I've seen her in Pike Place she has been insanely accurate. I've visited various tarot card readers and psychics, but she is the only person I've come across who is the real deal. Her psychic gift is truly a gift, she is intuitive, personable, and comes off very compassionate. She tells you not what you need to hear, but really how things are and how they could be. Each time she has done my reading, she'll throw little questions in, like "are you buying a car?", or "does Arizona ring a bell?, I keep seeing Arizona with you". I was walking around in the pike market and found this shop. I was pretty much happy with my life so there was noting that I could ask her except for few things that i was concern about. I do partially agree with Amanda on certain things. She was quite busy with her clients on the phone so I did feel little unwelcomed but when I entered in the small shop, She closed her eyes and the first thing she told me was very true that I realise later when things did not work in my favor. I did a reading over the phone and I can say she is the real deal. I usually do not leave ratings on readings because none of them seem to resonate in a way where they're telling me something new or whatever. However, I had just moved into a place and she told me I would be moving in the next couple of months. She had timelines and could describe my relationship to a tea also my feelings about it. Long story short, I had no plans on moving until I lost my infant son in April. I found him lifeless in the bed and I haven't moved yet, but I haven't been back home. I most likely will be moving soon though after I go back. She said something about April, but at the time I thought it was about me going back to work, now I believe it was about my son. My friend and I scheduled back to back readings for a Saturday. As my friend was on the bus, she received a text from Darleen asking to move the reading forward 15 minutes. My friend agreed, based on the premise the bus would get her there on time. I met my friend at Pike Place about five minutes before the new meeting time. Together, based on the address we had, we wandered the market, trying to find Darleen's stall, to no avail. My friend called and left a message and received a text a few minutes later saying Darleen's place was in the north end of the building. We wandered some more and texted again, asking for a store to serve as a landmark. The next text stated that she was on the third level, north end. We wandered more. At this point, we were at the original appointment time and decided that all signs pointed to "no!" We cancelled the appointment and went for coffee. After we cancelled, we received more texts, as well as phone calls, finally learning Darleen was underneath the flying fish stall -- which is NOT the north end -- and that she wanted to guide us. Honestly, that goose chase through Pike Place Market was enough to tell us that we didn't want her guiding us anywhere. As well, Darleen made a couple admonitions to my friend to exercise "patience." We were the ones asked to adjust our appointment time and we were the ones running around trying to find her, based on her inadequate directions, so telling us to be "patient" was a bit insulting. Darleen may be a great psychic/clairvoyant/seer/whatever, but my experience was with someone extremely unprofessional. When I initially called to make an appointment, her message stated that unless there are technical problems, don't call to make an appointment, but register online. I can only guess that phone calls are problematic for her. After the first sign we couldn't find her place, the professional thing to do would have been to call and speak to my friend instead of texting "down under north end." A simple phone call would have eliminated all the running around and we likely would have kept the appointment and perhaps written a rave review about what a great experience we had meeting her in person. As it is, we ended up feeling like we dodged a bullet. If she can't lead us to her business, I question the insight she can provide. 1-16: ETA: Despite what Darleen wrote in response to my review, I DID want a reading, and had one with a great empath a month or so later. The fact is, after my friend and I posted our negative Yelp reviews, Darleen emailed and called us multiple times, asking for a second chance as well as admonishing us for the negative reviews. In fact, she requested that I remove the post, referring to it as "unfair" to her and her business. I did not respond to any of her entreaties because as far as I was concerned, it was in the past and I had left Washington State. I stand by my review; it is not emotional, but is a factual account of what we experienced in trying to keep a scheduled appointment with her. She may very well be a great psychic - I didn't experience that, so I did not review that. I commented on her business practices, which weren't particularly organized or professional (and the fact that she continued to email and call after being told we had moved on speaks to that). I believe anyone who wants to have a reading with Darleen should be prepared to be very clear in their communication with her and I hope they have great experiences and aren't disappointed. Generally, I don't give negative reviews to businesses, but I felt that in this instance, it was warranted based on the confusion and poor communication surrounding an established appointment. I met Darlene 2 years ago during a very difficult time in my life. I have sought the services of clairvoyantly gifted people for many years, which some consider strange since I hold science and medical degrees. I was raised to accept that we all have gifts that can't be explained by "science", and I have met people who would believe they have a clairvoyant gift, and those who really do. The first time I met her at a party, I was holding my friend's hand when Darlene stated she wanted to talk to the one of us who had a medical device implant, my friend didn't even know I have a neurostimulator (very rare) implanted in my spine, because I don't like to talk about it. When I stepped forward, she STATED that I had to get my boyfriend to stop drinking and driving, he was going to die in an alcohol related accident soon, if he kept up his behaviour. She also STATED he was quite a bit older than I was, which I confirmed. She stated he was a chronic alcoholic, and his drinking had lead to him hurting me. This was all true, and I never told anyone. A couple days before, he had told me he had been pulled over twice for potential DUI's in 5 days, but manipulated both officers into believing he was just sleep deprived. I was contemplating leaving him, but was having a hard time because I loved him. I had needed to talk to somebody, but was bottling up a lot of emotions. I never offer any information to people I seek this type of service from, and Darlene proved within 5 minutes she was truly gifted. Her insight and advice was free, so there was no motivation to deceive me. She gave me a reading using tarot cards, which ended up being very helpful over the next month. I told my boyfriend about her warning, and everything she knew, and he stopped drinking and driving. Eventually he stopped drinking, but I had to leave him and accept that he wouldn't choose me over the alcohol, or stop drinking if I gave him an ultimatum. He chose to stop drinking for other reasons, and even though it was a year later, he did stop drinking. I later visited her in person, and have consulted several times by phone, and she does use software to look at astrology charts, along with tarot cards, but she has an innate gift that I would never question. The outright "predictions" she has made have come true, and when she provides guidance, if I follow her advice, the outcome has been good, when I have gone directly against her advice, because I didn't like what she had to say, the situation at hand did not resolve positively or at all. Just because you don't like what a psychic has to say, is not a reason to bad mouth them or insist on a refund. If your therapist calls you out on your behaviour, or tells you that your relationship will fail, nobody refuses to pay their bill or make resentful statements all over the web, right? The fact that she tells me things I don't want to hear, actually gives her more validity. In fact, my therapist started seeing her! She has always been kind, attentive, and anything but rushed. The quality of her readings are just as good by phone, as in person. My recent phone reading was amazing. She was able to describe the physical and emotional characteristics of the persons I was pondering decisions over, which is when I told her who was on my mind. She told me my current relationship was going to end the next day, which was surprising, but true. Because of my reading, I didn't stress about it because I know my journey didn't include him, it is with someone else. My life is very complicated in every aspect right now, and nobody would ever be able to guess details that Darlene is able to see clearly. There are a lot of people out there who do a decent job at reading tarot cards, and astrologers who can tell you the basic characteristics of your chart, but I have met very few people who have the gift of true clairvoyance. Cultivate patience:) I won't make any judgments about her abilities since we never got to see her. But I will say this. My friend and I are not tourists in Seattle. We know Pike Place Market. All we wanted was a landmark because it's a big market with several levels. We wanted to go directly there instead of racing all over trying to meet the new time she requested we make. A simple answer the first time would have been to direct us right below the 'flying fish'. That she said, "let me guide you", after not answering my direct questions about where she was, was actually laughable. She couldn't direct me to her location and I should trust her with spiritual or life guidance? Her follow up texts and voice mails were insulting. To insinuate that I'm/we're impatient is not only bad business, it's the opposite of what a person in her field should do or say. We didn't cancel out of impatience; we canceled because we lost confidence that she could add any value to our day. And, we didn't want to waste $75 for a 1/2 hour appointment that was really only 25 minutes. Canceling that appointment was a smart decision but we sure had an awesome afternoon laughing at the irony that she wanted to 'guide' us. Did I forget to mention? I was recommended to come see Darleen by a co-worker of mine. We went together for our first readings back in January and were so impressed right off the bat. I met Darleen by chance walking by Pike Place Market and I am glad we met. Darleen is a compassionated down to earth woman with a beautiful gift. We have had two sessions, one 6 months ago and another one this week. In both cases I was very quiet as I am a bit of an skeptic and rather wanted to let her talk in order not to bias her. She was very accurate the first time, even mentioning names of businesses I would deal with, in countries I never visited before, warning me about a future partnership and what to focus on. Although I had always wanted to have a reading, I went to this appointment with some hesitation. All psychics/mediums use very loose language that could describe anyone, right? Within 30 seconds of sitting down, Darleen told me that she felt a lump in my neck as she grabbed the left side of her neck under her ear. I have a lymph node in that exact spot that does swell up slightly (not to the point of being visible) from time to time and just happened to be swollen that morning.
