It's not anything huge, but it adds a lot of charm to the area and gives the square a relaxed, welcoming feel. The sound of the water makes it a good spot to slow down for a few minutes, especially on a nice day. The surrounding area is clean and well kept, and it's a solid place to sit, take a quick break, or snap a few pictures. It's definitely more of a "while you're there" kind of stop rather than a destination on its own, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do adds character to downtown Shelbyville. Only reason it's not a full five stars is there's not much else going on right at the fountain itself, but overall it's a pleasant, easy stop that makes the area feel more complete.
