This is THE BEST activity and BEST Master/Instructor we could have asked for for our young daughter! The Instructors are amazing with the children, teaching them so much more than form and art. They focus on respect, discipline and perseverance! My 4 year old practices better manners, respect, and commitment than she did 3 months ago before we enrolled her! We love everything about RC TKD!

Our child has been attending Master Kang's Taekwondo for about a year now, and it has been a truly…read morepositive experience for our family. When we first enrolled, we were hoping to find an activity that would help our child stay active, learn discipline, and build confidence. What we found was much more than just a martial arts class. Master Kang's Taekwondo has created an environment where children are encouraged to grow not only physically, but also emotionally and socially. One of the things that stands out the most is the quality of the instructors. The teachers are patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping each child succeed. They have a great ability to connect with kids while still maintaining structure and discipline during class. The balance between fun and focus is something they manage very well. Classes are engaging and energetic, and the instructor does a great job keeping the children motivated and attentive from start to finish. We especially appreciate the way the program encourages students to support one another. Rather than creating a competitive atmosphere where kids feel pressured to outperform their peers, the instructors focus on building a community where students celebrate each other's accomplishments. When one child achieves something--whether it's mastering a new technique, completing a form, or earning a new belt--the other students are encouraged to cheer them on. It creates a very positive environment where kids learn that success can be shared and that supporting friends is just as important as personal progress. Another important lesson the instructors emphasize is learning to work through challenges and setbacks. Martial arts can be difficult at times, and not every technique comes easily. The instructors consistently encourage the students to keep trying, practice regularly, and not be discouraged by mistakes. Over the past year, we've seen our child become more resilient and willing to keep working at something even when it feels difficult. This mindset has carried over into other parts of life, including school and everyday responsibilities. Accountability is also a big part of what the children learn here. The instructors help students understand that progress comes from effort and consistency. They encourage the kids to learn their routines, listen carefully, and take responsibility for their own improvement. These lessons about discipline and commitment are incredibly valuable and extend far beyond martial arts training. Another thing we really appreciate is how engaging the instructor is with the children. It's not always easy to keep a group of kids focused, especially after a long day at school, but the instructor does an excellent job of making the classes both structured and fun. The students are constantly moving, practicing techniques, and improving their coordination and strength, all while staying excited about what they are learning. One of the best signs that we chose the right place is how much our child looks forward to class. After spending the day at school, it would be understandable if they were tired or reluctant to go to another activity. Instead, our child is always excited to go to Taekwondo and looks forward to every class. That enthusiasm says a lot about the positive environment the instructors have created. The school also offers additional days and activities that help build friendships and teamwork among the students. These events are fun for the kids but also reinforce important life skills such as cooperation, respect, and perseverance. They give the students a chance to bond outside of regular classes and strengthen the sense of community within the school. Over the past year, we have seen a lot of growth in our child. Their confidence has improved, they are more willing to try new things, and they take pride in their progress. The structure and encouragement provided by the instructors have made a real difference. As parents, we also appreciate how welcoming the overall environment is. It's clear that the instructors care about the students and want them to succeed, both in Taekwondo and in life. They create a space where kids feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to keep improving. We plan to continue coming to Master Kang's Taekwondo and supporting our child as they work toward earning their black belt--or until they decide they are ready to move on to something else. Either way, the lessons they are learning here--discipline, perseverance, respect, and teamwork--are skills that will stay with them for years to come. Overall, we highly recommend Master Kang's Taekwondo to any family looking for a program that focuses not just on martial arts, but also on building character and confidence in children. It has been a wonderful experience for our child and our family.

Her journey took a pause about 8 months later when Covid 19 shut everything down. The result was the closure of that dojang, but this Fontana location reached out to us and extended the opportunity for her to continue classes at this dojang. It was a bit of an adjustment for her as far as technique, style and having to almost relearn everything due to the pause forced upon her journey. Master Nick and his fellow instructors have always been patient and kind, not only to my daughter, but to our entire family. As she's grown, she's developed quite a rapport with several of the instructors. Instructor Manny has sort of taken her under his wing and guided her along the way. There's a physical dynamic to this sport, obviously, but there's also a mental aspect as well, and that's something he's been able to help her with, helping her build confidence and remove negative self-talk. They offer group classes and also private lessons, a sparring class, cardio fitness class, etc. We also enjoy the special events they have which include visits from Kona Ice, Nerf Night, movie nights, BBQ and swim parties at the local aquatics center. They also hold an annual sparring tournament. It definitely feels like a family here. My daughter officially started her black belt training the day after testing for and receiving her red stripe belt. Instructor Manny took it upon himself to make sure she had her red stripe belt prior to the beginning of training. Black belt training is no joke. It's a 10-week training on top of regular classes, a 2-day testing and 6-month probation prior to receiving. The testing was intense and intimidating, but also one of the most amazing events I've ever been fortunate enough to witness. The camaraderie these students developed was amazing to see. Parents and supporters cheering them on. We're sworn to secrecy on the process, but that black belt was most definitely earned! This past weekend, probation was over and my daughter received her first degree black belt. She looks forward to continuing on the pursue her second degree and hopefully becoming a junior instructor. I'd highly recommend KTI for taekwondo! Thank you, KTI!

Another factor that struck me is that it is run by a family. The master and owner, Master Morales, is one international coach who brought his daughter to the World Championships as US National team member. Without thinking further, we chose this for my son! Due to the Masters' skills and perseverance to impart their knowledge to the community and young kids like my son, my son has improved a lot over the years. He started with Knockout in 2022 when he was 7 years old. Over the years, I've seen how my son improves and how much he has grown! He was fortunate as Master Morales offered for him to be a part of the team where he gets to compete locally and join out-of-states tournaments! It is an awesome feeling and experience that he gets to do this! He started competing last year and he is excited about getting medals, no matter what the color is! Knockout taught him to be competitive but know to accept losses and wins with poise and grace! At some point, I thought of having him quit TKD and try other things, but he loves it so much! I don't hear him saying it's boring, I don't want to go and negative stuff about it! He learned to love it naturally. One additional and important factor is Master Morales doesn't charge a lot! We pay one fee monthly and we get to go daily from Monday to Saturday with night trainings! With him being positive about this studio, he is one reason why you should CHECK this studio out too! My family recommends this studio! We Knockout Studio!

This location is owned by the same owners as GB Upland. If your goal is just to do jiu-jitsu for…read morefitness, this school may work fine. The main issue is the curriculum. It's very basic, standardized, and repeated year-round. This appears intentional. Regular classes teach only the minimum, while techniques outside the posted curriculum are pushed into paid private lessons. Because of this, most students are trained as hobbyists. Extra instruction or advanced opportunities often depend on personal relationships rather than a structured development path. The curriculum is designed for retention, not depth, and this model is consistent across Gracie Barra schools. The gap becomes clear when students compete or train outside the Gracie Barra environment. While internal GB tournaments create an even playing field, they can give a false sense of progress. When students compete outside of GB or train at another academy against the same rank the difference in technical depth, adaptability, and exposure is often very noticeable. Even the instructors don't train the same curriculum as regular students, which speaks to how limited it is. Compared to other academies that teach more as part of regular training (without extra fees), this approach leaves students less prepared overall.

My wife and I are coming into some financial issues and we asked for a cancellation, I came in person to cancel they told us that we had to email in order to do a cancellation before our next billing cycle when I asked for a cancellation in person. The response we got we have to wait 60 days two months in order to cancel our membership. That doesn't sound reasonable at all not even apartments make you wait that long. "Fair" business practices is no more than 30 days notice? But 60?!? That's a money grab and a shady business practice in my opinion. Originally I wanted to put us on hold for a few months but now I know we will never be back again. It's all about the principal. At the end of the day again it's a business and they're here to make money, not change lives. MONEY IS KING!!!!! I would highly reconsider taking your child or anyone you know elsewhere my biggest regret is signing up with them in the first place. Shame on you for shady business practices!

I have been attending for about seven months, and I can honestly say I don't have enough words to…read moreexpress my appreciation for Master Lee and his great team, whom I see as my family. S Martial Arts means a lot in my life because it has taught me to be strong, to be more resilient, to better control my emotions, and not to be weak. My experience at S Martial Arts has been wonderful. I started as a white belt, and now that I am close to earning my purple belt, I feel as if I am almost at an intermediate level. I have seen my progress in feeling more confident in myself, and I feel much more flexible than before thanks to the stretches we do in class. I especially noticed this improvement when performing high kicks. Each class begins with warm-up exercises and stretching, then we work with partners to practice techniques such as roundhouse kicks, Taekwondo forms, how to react to attacks, and personal defense. We also do some gymnastics, like front rolls and cartwheels, and a bit of kickboxing, including punches and back kicks. The classes involve a lot of cardio, especially during sparring. I also want to mention that I used to be a somewhat antisocial and shy person, and I felt embarrassed performing in public, especially when I didn't feel familiar with the people around me. Before my first belt test, I shared these fears and feelings of embarrassment with Master Lee. He told me not to worry. On the day of my belt test, Master Lee had already planned everything so that it would go well for me. He had me focus only on him, not on my classmates, since they were behind me and I couldn't see them. This helped me a lot because I didn't feel like everyone was watching me. Another unforgettable moment was when I couldn't break the wooden boards for the first time. What Master Lee did was incredible. When he saw that I couldn't break them, he asked my classmates to come together and create drum-like sounds by clapping their hands on a table. Then he came up to me and said, "Now try breaking the boards again." By listening to those drum sounds made by my classmates, I was able to break the boards with great strength. At first, I didn't understand how this worked just by listening to the sounds. Later, out of curiosity, I learned that it is a technique related to unblocking energy, where classmates send their energy to the person whose energy is blocked. This experience reminded me a lot of a scene from Karate Kid II, when Daniel LaRusso fights Chozen Toguchi. Daniel is exhausted and almost defeated, when suddenly Mr. Miyagi asks the audience to play a small hand drum called a Den Daiko. By listening to the collective sound of the drum, Daniel regains his balance and energy and is able to defeat Chozen. After this experience, I felt much more confident and learned that I don't need to think that everyone is watching me in public. I learned to overcome embarrassment, fear, and shyness. Master Lee is a great teacher who uses traditional techniques learned in his home country, Korea. More than that, he is a humble, responsible, and respectful person who teaches you to overcome fear using techniques that are not harsh or aggressive. Because of all the experiences I've had in his class over these months, I feel like I am part of a family. I feel very proud to train with a true traditional Korean master. He is understanding and caring with his students and always promotes respect, humility, and the importance of fighting for what you want. I highly recommend taking classes with Master Lee and living this beautiful experience of growth and strength through the martial art of Taekwondo.
