They gave us a fair bid for the job and then completed it on schedule. They needed to go onto our neighbors' property to get the job done safely, and they did an excellent job communicating with the neighbors. They came back several weeks later to grind out the stumps. Another tree service said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our narrow driveway to the backyard. But Carl's had no problem, and they left the yard in great shape with the giant stumps all gone. They had to take down the fence and put it back up again, and they took care with that, leaving the fence in great shape.

John was the first contractor out of 5 or 6 we called to pick up--and he made it a priority to move heaven and earth to remove those trees quickly, safely and affordably. On top of all that, John is just a good 'ole Georgia dude who really loves trees, knows everything about them and can climb 'em pretty good too. I asked John Blalock to remove several wild trees that had grown on the side of my house and a…read morecouple of them in the back. He asked me for $800, and I paid him that amount. The trouble is that he left the job a big mess. He left tree limbs and lots of brush on the ground. We had agreed that he didn't have to chip all the trees he took down, but that he could throw a couple of them down into the crevice behind my house. As far as I can see, he didn't do that. He left a large piece of one of the trees he removed hanging on one of the trees I wanted to keep. It looks so ugly. The neighbor on one side can clearly see the ugliness, and that's an embarrassment to me. I called to ask him to return to clean up the area he had worked on. He said he would, but that that would cost me an additional $300. I don't believe I told him if I would pay him that or not. He said he'd call so that we can schedule his time at my house. He never called. I called him a total of three times and left messages that I wanted him to complete the work, but he never returned my calls. So I'm upset about this and also because I think I probably paid too much for the work he did. Another issue is that the view from my neighbor's house is very unpleasant; they have to see the mess in the back of my house. All in all, it's a tough situation for me because I doubt I can get another contractor to come to clean up the mess John Blalock left me with. I'm unable to send you photos because I'm elderly and don't know how to accomplish that.
