This is more than a doctors office. I can't quite describe the doctor and his staff and office without feeling I'm in a parallel universe where you are actually given full attention. The office itself is very inviting and welcoming and you feel really comfortable. Because this was my first visit it was important. The building itself is amazing - looks like some sort of a Greek pavilion. The staff is absolutely lovely and caring to make you feel comfortable. I was greeted by Winnifred who extends her self beyond to make you feel welcome. Dr.Whitted takes his time to know you and understand what you are going through. And lastly the gentleman at the exit steers you to referrals and hands you off stocked with all you need. I've never been to a gyno quite like this. I'm sending my daughter. read more

It's a girls dream come true! All the things you have ever wanted when u go to the gynecologist. Waiting room was so relaxing and no flowery air freshener but a clean wonderful odor welcomed me. The staff were amazing. I misunderstood my appt and came in a week early. They took care of me just like it was today. Sat w the doctor BEFORE my appt in his office? Hugh? I got to meet him and get to know him before the "moment". LOVED it! The doctor was personable and super easy to talk with. He wasn't rushing me or eager to finish. He asked questions and waited for my response. And looked at me when we spoke. Super nice. The room was soooo nice. There was music like waves crashing in the ocean that was super soothing. The changing area was too cute. Had nice silk lined hangers for ur clothes and even had feminine wipes and pads should u need them. The best part was the cotton nightgown! It was like a night gown w the perfect Velcro placements and long to the knee w an a line cut and v neck, omg so cute and comfortable. During the exam the doctor was super aware to make me feel comfortable and walked me thru everything he did. After getting dressed and possibly skipping back to the reception desk I realized that I had found my new and forever gynecologist. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a medical facility. It was the first time I've ever been to this office. I arrived on time for my appointment, got checked-in and filled out the intake form. Armando, the Doctor's husband, who also appears to be the office manager, took me into a room to take my blood pressure and weight. He wasn't wearing scrubs or a lab coat (like any healthcare professional in a medical setting), just regular clothes. Then they moved me into another room because they needed to use that space. Then once again, they moved me to another sitting space, because they needed the room. After that, they moved me again to the waiting area. 2 hours passed and nobody gave me any updates to let me know if the Doctor was running late, so I got up and asked the front desk lady if the Doctor was going to see me and told her I had been waiting for 2 hours. She told me the Doctor was running late but that he was going to see me eventually. The Doctor's husband (Armando) overheard our conversation and a few minutes later told the front desk girl to let me know that the Doctor was not going to be able to see me and to please reschedule my appointment. A patient that had arrived a long time after me was roomed after this, which leads me to assume that they sent me away because Armando didn't like that I asked about my waiting time. I understand that unforeseen events can take place in medical offices and that Doctors usually run late to their appointments, but they way I was dismissed was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. They have no consideration of the patient's time, no sense of humanity by the way they treat people and certainly no respect by the unapologetic way they just told me to reschedule the appointment after such a long wait. I even felt uncomfortable to see how the office manager treats their employees and how he scolds the front desk lady in front of patients. I won't be coming back to this place and I hope nobody else has to go through the same situation only to waste their time. read more

What to say about this.... I am extremely disappointed with this doctor, his service, and his staff. I could say that it could be because I paid out of pocket since I do not have insurance-- that must be the reason this turned out as bad as it did. I went in to see Dr. Whitted since he came recommended and I had no one else to turn to. I have been having serious pains and I was in desperate need of medical evaluation. I came in as scheduled and he sat me in his office-- he has me tell him about myself and what I was experiencing as he was typing away behind an abnormally larger monitor. After his evaluation, he checked me and asked me to have a TVU performed. After the results were received, the doctor did not have the compassion to call me to discuss the results, his benefits coordinator did. The first words to come out of his mouth were, "I am referring you to an oncologist." And that was it. Ok, that could mean anything but to someone who has no idea whats is wrong, that screamed CANCER to me. Needless to say, I panicked! I saw the copies of the report (which I had to go get copies of) and the radiologist stated in his notes that he was not able to determine what the "mass" was so he recommended a CT scan for further evaluation. I am still waiting for the Dr. Whitted to call or ask me to come in to discuss this matter further--- like what are my options...what it could be..... anything! When I saw that I was getting no where with Dr. Whitted or his staff, I requested the copies of my medical records to be sent via fax to another doctor that was willing to care for me. Dr. Whitted's staff sent the documents-- just to an attorney's office, not the doctor's office I wanted them sent to. I paid out of pocket for my services which was about $450.00-- and I feel I didn't get what I paid for-- not even a courtesy call back. If there was an extra charge to have the doctor "care", I wouldn't have minded paying for it. He came highly recommended and now, I'm regretting ever meeting him or his incompetent staff. To be fair, Dr. Whitted is wonderful. That said, I'm taking my business elsewhere based on reception. I'm generally displeased with healthcare providers in Florida but was happy to find Dr. Whitted, who, come to find out, is from Texas (which explains a lot). I needed a basic prescription refill and my pharmacy indicated they could not get a response from the office. I was closing in on the weekend and needed the refill so I called the office. In summary this happened: 1) Armando didn't want to call in the script because he said they make him hold too long. 2) he told me he would TRY at the end of the day when he was finished with patients-I reminded him I am a patient. 3) he asked me what "sh1tty" pharmacy I used - yes, actually said that 4) when I called back and said I would drive to the office to pick up the script, he taunted me and said he already called it in and hung up on me. I still can't believe this just happened. I don't know if anyone will believe this just happened! read more

If you are looking for a stress-free and happy experience with your doctor DO NOT USE THIS GUY. Before you continue reading. Let me say that the first visit will be the longest most arduous doctor visit you'll ever have. They make it difficult for you to schedule and visit. If you've never been to the gyno then for your own sake, look for someone else. It's not supposed to be this unpleasant. The individual who answered the phone call the FIRST time I ever called was absolutely rude. He spoke down to me and gave me a lot of attitude. He even had the nerve to ask before even taking down my information, if my insurance was provided by obamacare because if it was they didn't deal with the likes of me. I was extremely insulted at the comment but continued with trying to make an appointment. He then accidently hangs up (doesn't call me back despite him having my phone number). When I called back, he didn't even answer the phone but kept talking to someone before saying hello. I had to call a third time when another rude lady answered the phone. I won't go into more detail but I was stupid enough to make the appointment. I was given 15 pages of paperwork to fillout (because it was my first time). Anywere you go, you will have to fillout paperwork, but a great doctor will have a nurse or him/herself go over these medical questions with youI. I brought everything to the appointment and when I got to there, the office was still closed even though it was already 9 am (my appointment was at 9 am). I had to wait an hour until they opened. Once I was there I had to wait another 2 hours, why? no one told me or wanted to speak to me. I was just told that there were people in front of me and the doctor was probably going to get there late. I am dumbfounded at lack of organization and how I was treated. I felt extremely uncomfortable and decided that if this is a reflection of their business and doctor I did not want Dr. Wayne down there. If your office is run a muck I can't imagine what a disaster it would continue to be. Thankfully I found a great doctor while I was in the office, I made an appointment and to my delight they were the sweetest happiest staff I have ever seen. They didn't give me a massive amount of paperwork but spoke to me by my name and only asked the information they needed instead. If you want a great doctor in the same area find Dr. Lissette Molina. She will make you feel extremely comfortable, the staff is extremely polite and happy. Going to an OB/GYN is never fun. It can be frightening, uncomfortable, embarrassing and nerve wracking but it's necessary. I've been to a few gyno offices over the years. None that I was completely happy with, but then I found Dr. Whitted's office. The staff, and most importantly, Dr. Whitted is great! Your first appointment will probably be your longest. You can hop on his website and print out all the paperwork requires prior to your office visit. Do this. It will help. After you're processed with the receptionist, you will be called in to meet with the nurse who will take your blood pressure and ask some questions. The Dr. will then meet with you in his office briefly to discuss any issues or concerns. You will then be taken to a room where the Dr. will do the physical or test for whatever you're there for. When it's done he will ask if you have any questions and that's it, you're done. The whole office visit took an hour. Of course, depending on what you're there for, it could be shorter or longer. Regarding payment, I couldn't really say. I have insurance so my office visit copays are low. I am so happy I found this office. I feel comfortable here and I feel like Dr. Whitted listens to my concerns and answers all my questions. I don't like going to OB/GYN visits but since I have to, I'm glad it's here. read more

I visited Dr. Whitted's office in South Miami for the first time this morning to establish myself as a new patient - get my annual exam and address some other medical issues. I arrived at the office a few minutes late, I approached the desk and signed in. The girl that was there made no attempt to even recognize that someone was at the desk. I sat down and waited for someone to provide me with the new patient documents. After several minutes of waiting and different staff members I asked someone myself and started filling out the documents. I turned them in, shortly after I was called for the nurse to take my blood pressure and then I was sent back out to wait. Everything was going fairly well. After waiting for approximately another half an hour, the office manager "Armando" tells me I'm sorry I have to reschedule the doctor has to go the hospital. I understand this happens sometimes. I am annoyed, but I don't really say anything. He hands me my license and insurance card and says nothing about rescheduling the appointment. So I have to ask, when do you have another appointment available. He gives me a date and I agree. Then I attempted to ask him if they would be able to even run a lab for me because I had an issue that needed to be checked. He did not even turn his head from the computer or stop typing. He just says I'm sorry we can't see you. When I told him he was being rude he told me he would just cancel my appointment and I can go somewhere else. I read only one of the negative reviews here prior to selecting Dr. Whitted's office and I really wish I had read the others. I am covered by a BlueCross plan through Obamacare and after reading the other reviews I have a feeling that his office has some issue with these policies. If that is the case get your name off the list of providers instead of treating people like crap when they are trying to get medical care. I have no idea what Dr. Whitted is like. He may be a phenomenal doctor, but his office manager Armando is rude and discourteous. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Whitted since 2005. The staff has always been friendly and whenever I've had a problem I've called Armando and he has always been sweet and helpful. Dr. Whitted is equally sweet and personable to the point he some times greets me with a warm hug and a kiss. In 2006 I learned that I had a condition and I was going to need a medical procedure. I was obviously nervous and concerned but Dr. Whitted made the process so much easier. He spent a great deal of time explaining to me every available option for my condition and once we decided that surgery was the best course of action he explained to me the whole process until I felt completely satisfied and comfortable. The surgery was successful and I recovered completely. I've always had a good experience every time I've been to their office. ;) read more

I Dont usually leave reviews but this time is necessary. I had the worst experience there, since August trying to get an IUD, never happened they kept my IUD my insurance covered while they cancelled me every appointment to do the procedure. Armando is the physicians boyfriend or husband and he is in charge of the practice and he is the worst. He is unprofessional, doesn't care about patients, he is rude, he treats his employees poorly in front of you. It is impossible to get an appointment, if you do finally get one you will wait hours. Horrible staff. They don't care about the patient. All they wanted was our money. I also was recommended to him and was fooled. He charged me 140$ for the visit and told me to go draw blood at another lab. I was fine with this until he told me I had to come back to see him so he can talk about my results. I was nervouse that the results would show positive for diabetes, so I drove all the way from north Miami beach. I get there and sit down to talk with him and he tells me everything is normal and that I don't have diabetes. Great news but he could have told me that over the phone. As I'm ready to leave his staff charges me $50. For what I'm thinking? To tell me that my results are ok? That's a bunch of crap!!! I would not recommend dr. Whitted and his staff to anyone. I've been coming to Dr. Whitted for 10 years now, and I couldn't be happier with him and his staff. My grandmother and mother had surgeries performed by Dr. Whitted and they were very happy with their results and care. Dr. Whitted takes his time to care for his patients and listens to all your concerns. Armando, the office manager, has always been wonderful and always helped me with insurance or prescription questions. Overall great experience. Yes sometimes you might have to wait a little or hold on the phone but it is because of how busy they are. I really wish he was still delivering babies, when I got pregnant I had to find an OB and he was terrible. Couldn't wait to come back to Dr. Whitted. read more

ok. you may be thinking what the heck does this guy know anything about an ob/gyn if he is not even a woman?!? well, you are completely right in that regard but bec i am w my better half every time she comes here, i have the perfect vantage point of seeing everything from a different perspective and all i can say is that this doctor merits high marks across the board... he is professional, honest and he def has been in the business longer than most in the area so he is one of the best, if not the best! these other negative reviews are not even on point... it's like going to a restaurant and giving it 1 star because the bathrooms were in poor condition and totally neglecting the fact that the food was unbelievably awesome! the doctors office is solid and armando and the rest of the supporting cast are always there to help and although many may disagree w the "friendly" staff compliment i think they merit, you have to understand the dynamics first. take into consideration that you are dealing w dozens and dozens of women coming in consistently throughout the whole day for a doc appt already stressed out and anxious to get it over with bec let's face it, the term "pap smear" - that alone already is a deal breaker! this would be equivalent to guys having to see a proctologist for the obvious! diva moment! by all accounts, not just is dr whitted a great doctor but he is one of the top recognized and praised by not just his loyal customers but by his colleagues and that is very commendable! he even has his own publications and is well known for his contribution in obstetrics/gynecology field. my honey bun has gone through two operations w him and both have been successful and the recovery time has been incredibly positive due to his experience and knowing exactly what to do. he is one of the best in laparascopic surgery. period! waiting room very cozy. ample room. love the couches. the parking is the only negative remark i have but i cannot fault the doctor for that... bottom line is if you want a respectable reliable and honest ob/gyn, look no further. and guys, this is the one to bring your better half to... u will be in good hands - trust me on this one! read more

If i had known this place had such horrible reviews, i would've gone elsewhere. I've been coming here for over two years, always only for a physical annual which is 100% covered by my insurance. My last visit in October 27, 2018 resulted with a bill to my house for over $311 and charges to my insurance for tests that were done without my consent that were out of the norm. Their excuse was that billing had made an error, and to email them the bill. We're in March now and my emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. I will be seeking legal advice for this and will be filing a complaint. They've charged my insurance for tests that i did not ask for, were not needed and I'm now stuck with a bill. And the times I've gone in, Armando grabbed the bill from my hand and threw it away, only to tell me "don't worry. Your insurance is good. They'll pay for it." Run! DO NOT VISIT THIS PHYSICIAN! He may be the world's best doctor but I would not recommend anyone to this office based on my experience with the office manager and staff. Hands down the most unprofessional office I have ever dealt with. I am seriously surprised how anybody would give these people any business. These people have absolutely no regard for their patient's time. My first visit ,and definitely my last, took two and a half hours for a simple yearly exam. I waited 45 minutes to be seen which was interesting since they stressed so vehemently to be sure to be there on time. The long wait however was nothing compared to what they put me through to get my test results. Apparently their policy is that the patient MUST make an appointment to see the doctor to discuss test results, regardless of the nature of the results. Even after insisting that my schedule did not permit me from coming again but that I was obviously very concerned and desperately needed to know my result they still refused to make any consolations. The very rude receptionist simply said that the manager would call me. I had imagined that considering the nature of the matter I would get a call right back from the office but of course I was wrong. I finally received a call the following evening after making 3 more phone calls to the office. The so called office manager called me and verbatim asked me "what's up?". I mean what kind of medical office has a person running the office and calls a patient back who has been expecting their call for a day and a half with "what's up?". Besides his obvious unprofessionalism he had no regard to the fact that he made his patient wait that long to discuss an issue as sensitive as test results. He also never apologized and in fact was blatantly rude. At the end of the day they had to fax me my results without the physician going over them with me. How is that for patient care? Being in the medical field myself I am completely appalled by how these people treat their patients and run their business. They are a disgrace to the medical field. read more

I wish I could give this place ZERO STARS! My first visit with Dr.Witted went well but my second visit with him was very frustrating.I arrived to my appointment on time (I live in Hollywood and drove all the way to Kendall) and had to wait 45 minutes to be seen for my ultrasound and was told that I would be seen by the doctor shortly after and was escorted back to the waiting room. I asked Armando how much longer he would be and he rudely snapped and said "Relax a minute he'll see you soon." As if I was wrong for asking after WAITING AN HOUR to speak to my doctor. (I was at that appointment from 10a.m until 12 p.m) Dr.witted went over my ultrasound results but forgot to go over my blood work with me. He gave me a prescription for an IUD and Armando told me to just get he fax number to my pharmacy and send it over,easy as that right? WRONG! Turns out that THEY NEED TO FAX IT OVER OR ELSE ILL GET CHARGED $700 for something that should be COVERED AT 100% IF THEY SEND IT IN.I tried relaying this message once I found out last Friday and called back and the receptionist said I was wrong (which I wasn't).Come Monday morning I tried to speak to someone and they insisted I was wrong and was told that Armando would call me back,BULLSHIT! I've been calling everyday and I never get through to the receptionist at any hour because they use an answering service instead. Even my insurance left a message for them to try to resolve this and Armando didn't call me back until today..still no resolution! Instead he said my insurance left a bizarre message which isn't true cause I was on the line and heard exactly what they said.I don't understand why I should waste my time trying to figure things out with insurance when that's their job and they should be handling this. After dealing with this since last Friday and even now they need to take some action on their end to get me my medication.am i wrong ?Needless to say If this doesn't get resolved soon then I'm just going to go somewhere else that has a professional front staff who won't be condescending to their patients. I visited a few times after a medical emergency prompted me to. He came highly recommended by a friend. Until I needed a certain medication, all was OK. He doesn't want to follow the policies of my insurance company in acquiring this medication. It's too much hassle according to staff. When I told the doctor how much it would be for me without his following the protocol if you will, he just shrugged his shoulders as if to say, oh, I don't really care. My insurance called the office and spoke to Armando, Armando said the doctor is out until the end of January. I have a feeling the good doctor didn't want to deal with it. And as I am on the work land line phone with my insurance company, Armando is leaving a voicemail on my cell saying the insurance company says I have to order the medication. Bullshit, they just told Armando what they had to do, THEY had to order the medication. I've got the insurance company on one phone, he's calling my cell. The insurance company telling me what needs to be done and Armando saying the opposite when he just got the call from the insurance company telling him what needed to be done. AWFUL, just awful. This is the best doctor I have ever been to in my life!!! He is gentle, caring, and really concerned about my health. I would never go to anyone else. Dr. Whitted exemplifies what a Medical Doctor should be. He is also a brilliant and skilled surgeon who specializes in non-invasive surgical procedures, and I will be forever grateful to him for his skill and expertise in this area and the successful outcome of my surgery. I wish I could give negative stars. This is the WORST office I have ever visited. Ever. And I am not that young. Dr. Whitted's staff is the most unprofessional and rude staff ever known. Please do not try to be his patient. I had several problems. The first is Dr. Whitted prescribed a serious medication Activella without even discussing with me. This medication is for people that have bone density problems. I do not. But Dr.Whitted would not know that because he did not discuss it with me or ask if I have been tested for bone density (I have). I then went for a mammogram with Dr. Whitted's prescription. The radiologist wanted a follow up. Dr. Whitted's office manager ARMANDO, proceeded to completely mess that up. To the point the I lost a work day having to reschedule because he refused to have Dr. Whitted write the prescription the radiologist at Baptist Hospital was recommending. In fact, Armando, who is not a doctor kept telling me that he had read the report and he was giving me the right prescription. I had to have the Baptist Hospital staff deal with him and he was rude and unprofessional to the Baptist supervisor. He hung up on me and he hung up on her. He also tried to scare me by telling me he knew that my insurance would not cover what the radiologist was recommending. Wow! I am amazed that Dr. Whitted has a practice that can survive his staff. Then I needed a different prescription filled. I had to call 3 times and Armando just hung up on me when I asked him to please let me know what time he would call it in so I could plan on picking it up. Please do not use this office. My friend refers me to Dr Whitted as I was looking for a good gyn. However, I had the worst experience ever. I can't say anything positive or negative about the doctor as I only met him twice. Now I see why some people was complaining about his employee Armando. I don't know how he is still working there. He is causing the doctor to lose patients. First of all, I was supposed to have a procedure done last November or December. He advised me to wait for next year telling me that due to insurance renewal, I was gonna pay $4,500 out of pocket before the procedure. he told me it's better to wait for next year. last week I went in to have an US done. to my surprise, I found out that I have to pay $252 co pay. I told him since I have that insurance I never had to pay all that for a co pay. he also told me that I have a deductible of $4000 to pay until my insurance can cover my medical bills. I called my insurance and found out that I could have the procedure done last year as I had reached my $1500 deductible. also, I found out that my deductible is only $1500. I wish I had listened to those comments. this guy made me waste my time. hopefully, it could have been worst if I didn't call my insurance. I am going to another doctor where they really care about me not overcharge me. also, where my privacy is respected. read more

I called for a well visit and to be established as a new patient in the office. My plan doesn't have a limit of well visits like most plans do during a year. They refused to take me as a well visit because I had one 3 months prior in another state that I moved from. I have $0 co-pay for well visits. If this would have been a sick visit, my co-pay is $25. Not only that they didn't charge $25 for a sick visit, they refused to get me in as a well visit. After all that, they said they will refund me $15 only. I'm calling them every day to talk to the office manager armondo but he won't return my calls. A staff member Ira keeps telling me he's busy with patient. My insurance company said that all they have to do is re-write that it was a well visit and give me back the money I paid but I can't even get them to call me. Worst experience. I don't know how they are still in business. My next step is going to the medical board. This is insurance fraud. read more
