I can think of at least six previous pizza companies that have run out of this address and all of them have failed. I'm not sure why people invest their livelihood and their financial future into yet another pizza place when they know that it has failed continuously in the years before them. I don't get what makes them think that they are going to be the ones that will make it a success, when every single other pizza place there has failed. ALL of them. In any event, this newly branded pizza place for 2019, Pizza By The Beach, with all of its flashy and colorful signs on white vans that are parked in the parking lot advertising it, all means nothing unless the food is great. And it is not!
I tried a Hawaiian pizza with some friends tonight, nothing fancy, just your plain run-of-the-mill Hawaiian pizza. You'd think that that would be pretty hard to mess up right? It was probably the worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life. In fact I couldn't even finish the first piece, and my friend who had two pieces on his plate, wouldn't touch his second piece. I thought initially that maybe it was just me, but when my friend also couldn't eat more than one slice, I knew it was truly horrible pizza. The crust was mediocre at best, very thin, but it wasn't the crust that was the problem, it was just the overall general taste. There was a noticeable lack of pizza cheese, and the toppings were just plain and bland. In their advertisements that I've seen, they claimed to be short on clothes, but not short on toppings. I think they actually got that mixed up and turned around. A frozen pizza on sale at a grocery store for $2 that we ended up cooking because their pizza was SO bad tasted better than the pizza we bought tonight from Pizza By The Beach. I don't know, maybe the person that was making it tonight was too busy messing with their phone, or vaping out back, or smoking a doob, or something, but it was just plain, horrible, pizza. If this was an anomaly, it's unfortunate, because this was my first time trying them out, and as such, it will be my last. Like I said at the beginning, I really wanted to like this pizza and this place as it's nice having a local good pizza place in Shawnigan Lake. The other pizza place in the Village is horrible, and I think most people agree with that. Pizza By The Beach, at least tonight, is even worse than the place in the Village!
We want our $22 back (and that was just for a single pizza too!!)
