So much so the demand of lumber brought prices through the roof, and the professionals out there to do the work have been working non stop. They have risked their lives during the pandemic to make sure projects got done. So knowing all this. I agreed to work with Maryland Excavation Contractors June 5th. It's been an awfully rainy couple weeks which has made getting a set dig date not easy. However. Maryland Excavation Contractors assured me they would make it out. Knowing how busy they were, and how extremely awesome the price I was quoted I continued. Lo and behold here we are two and a half weeks later and we are completed! This may seem like a long turn around time to some but let me assure you the quality of work is top notch and well worth the wait. You're not going to get the same level of expertise from the other guys. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING

No other contractor we solicited was able to do this. They demolished the old porch and put in a new porch quickly, efficiently, and with minimum disruption to our lives. Their staff was highly professional and the job was expertly completed in 2.5 days. They took care to protect our house and lawn and they did every thing they promised and more. This is a local woman-owned business so they stand behind their product and care about their reputation, which is particularly important with contractors. I strongly recommend them and have already recommended them to two of my colleagues.

He celebrated the medallions around each doorway and window and even enhanced them by having new ones made of plaster installed. He has a real sense of design - my coffered ceiling was his answer to the trim above the doorway being slightly off-center which meant that the chandelier was off center as well. It truly makes the apartment and I was thoroughly against it when he suggested it. He added a piece of trim below the window sill of each window because he thought it needed it. Once it was installed the windows do pop and the detail stands out, things I never would have thought of. Steve Stonestreet is always available, always calls you back, texts with you to keep you updated, sends photos and is always thinking about the project and all its idiosyncrasies. I have never met a contractor who works harder and is more thoughtful than Steve. He also is genuinely the nicest guy I have ever met. Every obstacle that came up or blip was handled calmly and with lots of ideas gleaned from years of experience working on big projects and small projects. My project is one of his smaller jobs and I never felt that my space was less important or didn't matter to him. In fact, I feel like I got more time because of the nature of the detail involved. I have recommended him to other residents in the building and he is actually painting the common hallways and areas of the building. I highly recommend him and he is a joy to work with!

Andrew came recommended to us by our realtor, so even in the COVID pandemic he came over to check it out. We thought maybe he'd have to open up our floor, and expected this to potentially run us a lot of money. He had obvious knowledge of the era of home that our house was and the nature of how they built it in order to determine that the floor would be fine. We were greatly impressed and happy with his assessment, and would certainly contact him again if a need arose.

My issue is with the owner Norman who took my payment and then got sidetracked by another job before completing all the items in my service agreement with him. It's been 3 weeks since he removed the workers from my home to pursue a larger job, and 4 important items have been thrown to the waste side. He kept promising to return himself to compete the job, but rescheduled multiple times only to never complete it. He started trying to justify his lack of professionalism by acting like he did all this extra work for me, but that was a lie and irrelevant. He also tried to charge me a 6% upcharge for using a credit card. I've been in business for over 20 years and have never encountered merchant account fees that were 6%. So, I got tired and fired him, even though he was paid in full. Anyway, I'll never hire this scammer again and I advise you not to do the same.

I had to have them redo a lot of things. 1- The painting of the wall was a different color and had a lot of missing color spots. A second coat was added and made it look better. But, still uneven color and the beam was not painted well. If I go to sale the home this will have to be done again. I plan to paint the beam myself. 2- Had to ask to add corking to the board that was placed under the sink. 3- The cabinet draw was glued shut. We were able to pull it loose. 4 - Door that was installed had to tell the guy it is coming off and glass is falling out. The glass was not secured and the hinged had come out. He did put another screw in and secured the glass. 4 - Ramp power wash and staining was ok. Was pleased with the power washing and staining. 5 - My closet is a disaster. I had mention to the guy that I would reschedule the closet since I had not taking clothes off the rack. He said him and the other guy would do it. I did not expect them to take my nice dresses, delicate fabric shirts, pants and tangle them up, lay them in a way that they were all over my closet. I'm still looking at my closet now trying to figure out where to start to not damage my clothes. Frustrating! Overall the company was very pleasant to work with and fixed the issues to their abilities. I don't like that I had to point out the things that should of been just part of quality service/work. You don't want to go behind an expert's work. You want them to see the job through and to excel at the work you are contracting out. I would recommend them for minor handyman task, carpentry work. But, major projects I would ask for recommendations or go with a more experienced company.

Repairs were contracted through Ashburn Pro Roofing. The repair-man removed the nails, lifted the rubber barrier, put down a layer of tar, and covered it up. Within 48 hours, the edges were completely detached. We reported the issues to Mike via our realtor and they came back a second time for a second repair. The second repair involved nailing a "faux" edging to 'clamp the edges' of the rubber down. Then proceeded to add another layer tar on top to 'seal the edge'. The problem is that only one side was sealed the other had a new exposed edge to the environment with new, larger, nail holes. Within 24 hours of the "repair to the repair" the tar got hot, bubbled and lifted, creating a barrier that would keep the water on the flat top roof and not allow it to flow off. Pictures of each repair included below. We got a second estimate and to repair the damage created by the first two jobs is 3x's as much as Ashburn Pro Roofing's initial cost. ** I am not a roofer so I'm not familiar with the technical terms - but it does not take a professional to see from the pictures that these repairs on a flat top roof will not work.
