Recently had a very negative experience with a couple of employees following an inspection. They…read moreshowed up unannounced, rang the doorbell a few times, and while I was trying to put my dogs in the crate and answer the door, they helped themselves through the gate into my backyard, and were up on the deck taking pictures without any authorization! When I asked them what they were doing in my backyard, I was met with absolute unprofessionalism, rudeness, disrespect, and belligerent attitude. He bowed up to me and informed me they were going to start drilling into a very new stone patio we had installed to replace the rotten deck that was there. I asked them to exit the backyard and wait by the front door while I got my husband. Again, we were met with the flippant attitude, telling us they have had this contract since the house was built. (Which was irrelevant, as we had not been provided a copy, or been given the opportunity to review the terms.) We asked them to have their manager call us so we could discuss options. This never happened. Instead, the owner of the company sent a certified letter stating they were cancelling the contract due to refusal of service! From our perspective, the company supports this type of harassment and that is a bad business practice from which they cannot recover. Either the manager did not get an honest account about this unscheduled horrible visit, or the company supports this behavior. Based on the owner's response to cancel without contacting us, we believe it is more likely the latter. We do not do business with companies like this. Good riddance to the contract and don't ever step foot on my property again!

First their quote for treating a sofa for pests was $320.00 higher than their suggested cost. Then, they said an annual termite contract was about $149.00. They failed to mention the $800.00 charge for the initial inspection and treatment and...the actual inspector told my mom it would be $450.00. Here's the kicker. Because they don't have a person skinny enough (their words) to fit under the house, they will be glad to take the money, but if the treatment fails and you get termites they aren't liable for any damage. Do yourself a favor, use someone else.

A few years back, I had extensive termite damage to a floor, sub-floor and floor joist. I have a…read moretermite contract with Hopper dating back to 1991. The area had been pretreated. Termites had completely eaten up this floor. There were termite trails(dirt tunnels) all over the wood to the ground. The Hopper rep. who came out, said "Looks like you have an ant problem." I'm 62 years old and I know ants from termites. He would not say "termites." Hopper would not cover the damage, so I had to pay out of pocket. What good is a warranty? They claim on the contract that they will repair/replace any damage found do to a new termite infestation. Also, each year I pay my renewal in June. Sometimes it is 6 months before they reinspect.
