Here you will find, organic cereal, wide range of nuts and whole grains as well as natural household and beauty products. I am fond of their peanut butter which is literally grounded peanuts with no additives, preservatives and flavourings. Of course shopping here is not as cheap as the local supermarket but you feel so good about yourself for being so healthy after shopping here. I obviously would not do my entire groceries here as that would burn a hole in my pocket though. 'Mrs Flannery's' is a must for anyone into natural health and organic foods who lives around the 'Taringa' area. You will not be disappointed by the range this place has to offer.

The mature-aged female pharmacist discusses extremely sensitive and confidential information about patient prescriptions openly and loudly in front of other customers, takes it upon herself to contact prescribing doctors without patient consent in order to discuss very clear dispensing guidelines provided by the prescribing doctor (keeping in mind she is NOT a doctor), and she incorrectly dispenses smaller amounts of prescription medication than the doctor has authorised, presumably as an act of spite for being called-out on her unprofessional behaviour. It's her job to do as the doctor says--not recklessly alter the prescription. This behaviour constitutes misconduct. Accordingly, I have contacted the pharmacy registration board for an investigation into this person. Also, there's another person who works for this pharmacy, a mature-aged woman named 'Megan'. 'Megan' is not a pharmacist or doctor, yet pretends to be. I have contacted the pharmacy a number of times to discuss prescriptions that my treating doctor emails and faxes to this pharmacy. On a number of occasions, 'Megan' has demanded to know what medications I am taking and has claimed to 'know exactly what that medication is'. She has also demanded to know exactly when medication is going to be picked-up, despite knowing that I suffer from severe chronic illness, and consequently, am relying on the goodwill of a close friend to collect them on my behalf--therefore, I cannot provide 'exact times'. This type of person could cause serious harm to someone who believes her to be in possession of skills and qualifications that she does not have in the event that they misconstrue her advice for that of a professional. Give this pharmacy a very wide berth if you value your own and your family's health.

From the choose-your-own-colour Keep Cups to the beautiful giftware from Paper Boat Press, this store is teaming with gorgeous gifts and home wares. Even if the receiver is not hugely "eco" it's always nice to know you have purchased something that's helping the environment. The store in the CBD is big and friendly and the staff have always been more than happy to answer any questions I have for them. I've also utilised their website many times for tips to save energy and water around the house. If you tend to get the guilts about consuming and harming the environment, then Biome can certainly help. Not only that, it's a lovely shopping experience and has a good turnover of stock so there's always something new to look at.

I've loved açaí for years, having tried it in Rio long before the açaí bowl trend caught on in other parts of the world. The taste is just so nice, something like in between blueberry and chocolate, but this smoothie seemed really light on the açaí taste and really heavy on the raspberry and strawberry taste, which was a let down. It also seemed overpriced given I could easily have thrown the same ingredients into a blender for way cheaper. But my biggest gripe with it was all the seeds. Yeah, berry smoothies are bound to have seeds -- the raspberry ones especially are annoying because they're so tiny and they just clamp onto your molars like a needy ex-boyfriend. So I expected some seeds, but the amount of seeds in this smoothie was RIDICULOUS. I needed a spittoon like in the Wild West to spit all those puppies into. Made for a really unpleasant smoothie experience. (First world problems, I know.) On the plus side, they have their vegan menu options clearly marked. I'm also guessing their açaí bowls are way nicer than their smoothies, and if I ever went back I'd try a bowl instead, but right now I'm not too inspired to go back. The menu has 2 main choices: bowls and smoothies. I haven't tried the smoothies yet but I reckon I will at some stage. The bowls consist of the following: a layer of acai + other fruit puree, granola, banana and strawberry slices topped with a sprinkling of flax seed. That's what they call the Original and the one I've liked the most. I've tried a couple of the others and they seemed to be variations on the same theme. I work out at the Jetts right across the street and a bowl of berry is the best award after coming off an early morning session. The cool tangy puree meshes beautifully with the sweet crunchiness of the granola. I usually get the large ($10) and it's more than enough for a filling hearty breakfast that (gasp!) is actually pretty healthy. The price however is one of the reasons I'm not here every day and probably the only negative I can think of. However, that being said, it's addictive enough that I have been going about 2-3 times each week! I've recommended this place to all of my coworkers and friends to try at least once.
