I admittedly did not expect Paris to have outstanding dumplings, but boy was I mistaken! We happened to be by the area and popped in. Due to rain, the store was empty on a Saturday at 5pm. The workers inside speak Chinese, but they also have the menu in English, making it easy to order. We got the pork and chive dumplings for takeout, and it was less than a 10 minute wait. Despite a 30-minute subway ride back to the hotel, the dumplings stayed fresh and warm. And boy were they great!! This place was PACKED on a Sunday night around 9pm, so I walked in to order takeout. They have an English menu - I ordered the shrimp/chive/pork and I think the Shrimp/Egg/Shive. Both were solid and I ate all 20 in one sitting! I couldn't really taste the shrimp because I think it was ground instead of chunks of shrimp. Pretty popular dumpling place in this neighborhood! I saw the many good reviews on yelp and this place did not disappoint! There is a variety of dumplings on their menu and the restaurant gives a nice mom and pop feel. No worries if you don't speak French that well (because I don't), but the lady there is patient and pretty much figured out what I was asking for before I tried to order with my mangled French. (Bonus, she also speaks mandarin!) We ordered the chive and pork dumplings in soup to go, and the order came out pretty quickly. The soup was also nice and hot (which I like). As for dumplings, they're not too bad! The skin is pretty thick and it doesn't fall apart. However if I had the chance to go back, I would get them pan-fried. (Those looked a lot tastier!) I come from San Francisco but have lived in Southern France for the last year, so I've had some major dumpling cravings. On a recent trip to Paris, I was super happy to have found a place that only serves dumplings - inexpensive and fresh! Definitely a winning combo. This place fills up super fast - we got there on the earlier side on a Saturday afternoon, around 12:15 pm and didn't have to wait for a table, but by 12:30 or so, it started to fill up and people were waiting for tables by 1 pm. You get 10 dumplings for 5€, and there are 11 different combinations of flavors that you can choose from, most of them revolving around pork, with a few chicken or shrimp options and a one vegetarian option. You can opt to get them steamed or fried - I think the fried is probably tastier (slightly unhealthier but worth it). You can also get soup with the dumplings, but everyone seems to get the pan-fried dumplings. We opted for 20 dumplings between the 2 of us - I thought this would be too much food, but we were hungry, but the dumplings are on the smaller side and this was just fine. We probably could have even eaten 3 plates of dumplings between the 2 of us. We got the pork, chives and shrimp dumpling (#1 on the menu), and one with chicken, cabbage and mushrooms (I think). They all kind of taste the same, but I remember liking the one with pork, chives and shrimp the best. You can't really go wrong. I think there's a minimum of 15€ to use a credit card, so plan accordingly (either order enough or have cash on you). I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in Chinatown and craving dumplings. I would come back here again - the food is quick, fresh, delicious and hits the spot. read more

When my husband and I were in Paris at the tail end of our 2 week trip to Europe and Morocco I was getting home sick for some delicious asian cuisine. Popped onto yelp and found this place right next to the metro stop. Not in any central part of Paris the neighborhood is definitely immigrant feel (Russian/Chinese?). The restaurant probably fits about 20 people total, is on a side street, and is cash only. We ordered as much dumplings as we had euros and the dumplings were so delicious! The sauce that they provide for dipping is also good. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to come here as a tourist but if I were a local you bet I would be here all the time! read more

Simply put this place was amazing!! Wife and I were on vacation in Paris we walked in and the place was packed. It is rather small but was worth the wait or you can get take out. If you'd like to sit and eat grab a table as soon as you see one or walk up to counter to order take out. The dumplings were a great price €6 for 10. We got takeout and we're asked to wait outside while it was prepared.....again the place is small. Order took about 10min and a young man walked out and gave us our order. We had the #8 and #10 which was consisted of beef shrimp egg and chalets. After the journey back to our BnB our food was still hot and fresh as it comes in a metal tin. We ended up coming back twice. About a 5 min walk from Belleville train station. Many people inside were eating the soups they looked delicious. They have about 10 choices: with filling based on beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp - or even just veggies - so as to please just about anyone's desires. You can have 10 dumplings for 4 euros. If you want to stock up your freezer you can get 100 fresh dumplings that have been frozen for you to take home for 20 euros (a 50/50 combination is possible for those who want variety). Hmmm, not quite sure I agree with all of the accolades here. I stopped in on a recent Sunday on my way through Belleville to order a couple of different types of dumplings to bring back home for dinner. To call the welcome surreal would be an understatement. It's as if all facial expressions were off limits. I understand that some people don't feel obliged to smile, but what about eye contact? When did that become such a hot commodity? When, ruling out the awkwardness of the ordering/waiting/paying procedure, I was giddy as a bee to get home to test out my two types of dumplings (steamed pork and chive and grilled chicken and scallion). The dough was quite delicious on both but I found the filling to be rather bland and unremarkable, with hardly any difference in taste for either. Ok this place is legitimately delicious. Handmade tasty dumplings are what you come here for. This place is seriously TINY (don't plan on eating in the restaurant - there's barely any table space, and also it heats up in there with all the frying and cooking going on). The dumplings here are authentic and legit. You can choose to have them steamed or grilled. It's mostly a place you should go to for takeout, and I suggest getting at least 1.5 portions of dumplings (for example splitting 3 dumplings order amongst 2 people), because if you have a large appetite like me, 1 order might leave you feeling a little hungry. Take out can be slow - it can be a bit of a long wait and there's not much to do in the little street except hang out in front of the store dreaming about your dumplings. As I mentioned take out is the way to go. Now that you've gotten your delicious dumplings, where to eat? Well, you can walk to the canal or go to the buttes chaunont. But even better? This is an off the beaten track little hole in the wall serving some of the most delicious and tasty dumplings ever. The menu is very limited but they have a good selection of steamed and fried dumplings along with some salads and soups. You can also get a beer. The dumplings are served grillé or steamed- and the "grilled" are the typical fried potstickers with the golden crusts-yum! There are about 11 different flavors: we tried the number ones the number eights and the pork and poivron-all delicious. The peanut salad looked delicious and I wish I had gotten it. I tried a bowl of vegetarian soup that was perfect for the evening. Although it was a little bit hard to eat so I just picked up the bowl and drink from it. It is just charming- seats maybe 12 people at the most. You do have to walk through some pretty sketchy parts of Paris - was that a hooker? ...but it is worth it. What does it say that my favorite restaurant in Paris is a tiny little Chinese dumpling place? Went on a whim because I was craving some comfort food, but damn, they do it better than my mom (don't tell her!). 5e for 10 dumplings, most of the salads are around 3,5e. You can feast here for 10e, which is practically unheard of in Paris. I love the variety of dumplings they have and so far, I have never been disappointed. Best of all? You can buy 100 frozen dumplings for 20e to take home with you, which is basically how I nourish myself as a poor study abroad student. You must be aware though, that while the place itself is really small and unremarkable, tucked away on a quieter street in Belleville, if you walk here from Belleville metro stop you are likely to have to walk past some Asian prostitutes. I love dumplings. If I could, I would eat them everyday until I die. That said, this restaurant satisfied my craving but it didn't leave me with a tummy full of happiness. My stomach was definitely full though! I tried both the steamed and fried of #1 (leek, pork, shrimp). They fry their dumplings very well! It was perfect, not too grilled and not broken at all. The taste was not bad but I felt that there was not enough flavor. I think that was to accommodate the French that go here, but as a girl who expects her leek dumplings to be packing a punch and full of yummy leeky-ness, I can't give this place a great review. I had to make my own sauce (which I generally do anyways) so that there was some flavor, which meant it basically just tasted like dumpling sauce. It wasn't bad though. Came here for dinner after a long day of touring and decided to check yelp to see what cheap eats were around the area. It's definitely a hole in the wall eatery with only 4 tables crowded into the small room but the lady serving us was very nice(as nice as most asian shop workers/owners get), with my minimal manderin(very very minimal) and the dumplings were very nicely fried and delicious. We couldn't read the menu as it was in french and chinese so we went for the first one which turned out to be pork and chives(and probably other ingredients). There was a line for the seating and it looked like most of the customers were locals. Definitely a must try if you're craving some asian food in Paris ! read more

Why "dumpling house"? Well they make all their dumplings in house, and that's pretty much all they have on their menu. No rice dishes, no noodles soups. The closest variation is dumplings...in soup...I had pan-fried pork dumplings and my friend had steamed chicken dumplings. We ate here two days in a row it was so good! I always loved dumplings, but then got crazy about them in shanghai. I've spent forever searching for something that equals that experience, and this certainly comes very close! The dumplings here are delicious, with a nice array of fillings to choose from and everything is 10 dumplings for €5! By far the best deal for good in Paris - seriously!! They do some simple salads to accompany the dumplings and that's it, not that you need anything else! It was actually hard not to go back every day of the trip. One of the best meals we had...we love dumplings. A little sketchy once you get off the train, defiantly not a great neighborhood, but we stuck together and right when we got to the restaurant we felt MUCH better.
