Staff is nice but it seems like they can't keep staff there. It's a nice experience to get your hair washed and scalp massaged but the cuts are just average. I've been several times to see Paris and I loved the way she cut my hair but she has since left. Last time I had a new girl who was distracted talking to the other hairdresser the whole time and I left with a not so great cut. They seem to have a lot of young girls working which is great for their training but might not be so great for your hair! I recommend booking your appointment with a seasoned hairdresser. read more

I am a new regular at Pristine Spa in the same shopping center and came upon Ravin - considered the convenience to have hair, nail and a spa business all next to each other. So I decided to give Ravin a try. There are three levels of stylists to choose per menu board. I called to make my first appt and there was no mention of stylist level. My appt was made with Cassie. Fast forward to day of cut and blow dry...I immediately found Cassie to be friendly and personable. She shampooed my hair and gave a nice head massage. The warm towel laid across shoulder was very soothing. Cassie did a great job with short and stacked A-frame cut and style. I was very surprised to learn business had been there for 10 years (+8 years at first location downtown). Everything was clean, fresh and looked like it was nee. They really take care of the cleanliness and appearance of the salon which is very important. I look forward to coming back and being a regular. read more

After researching salons and thumbing through countless photos of finished hair styles and colors, I choose a specific stylist at Ravin Hair. The day of my appointment, she phoned and advised me that she was super busy and I could either wait for her (she would be 20 minutes to an hour late) or I could use another stylist. I agreed after being assured that her co-worker was amazing. When I arrived, a very friendly, young stylist met me. She explained she must come in for the day even when she doesn't have a client and she had no one scheduled. I told her I wanted to lighten my hair for the summer. I asked for warm, chunky highlights and a blunt, slightly asymmetrical cut that would lie past the shoulders once dry. Several times during the experience she said, "People love short hair, you'll never want to go back" and I'd remind her that I did not want short hair. Now, I love learning about people and have always enjoyed the discussions I've had with salon professionals. But this girl would stop working on my hair all together and spend 5 to 7 minutes, leaning against her station, chattering away about herself and how she thought the COVID vaccine was dumb etc., causing me to lose several hours unnecessarily and wonder why she felt the need to tell me--someone she just met--her opinion on something very controversial at the time. When the ordeal was finally over, I had to fight back the tears. She'd cut off 7-inches and it looked like she took a weed whacker to my hair. The highlights appeared more gray (I didn't have gray hair when I went in btw) then blonde. I expressed my concerns. The stylist I originally booked snapped at me from her own workstation, "No it does not!" making me feel uncomfortable. I knew any further complaint I had would be met with animosity and I wasn't up for the battle. $240 later, I left with a hairstyle and color that looked like it was done by a fourth grader. I waited a year before giving this rating. I'm very careful about negatively commenting on small businesses, fearing the impact my review might have. But now that I'm finally ready to brave another salon, I find I'm still angry about my last experience. Hopefully, management can better train their staff better based on my review. read more

While the staff is initially very friendly, I don't recommend their services for weddings. I had the worst trial hair & makeup session ever! After 2 hours, my hair trial hardly looked like the picture I brought in. Even though the stylist said she understood what I was looking for and discovered the difficulties of my hair, I never saw whether she could actually create the style I asked for. I tried not to worry and wanted to trust her ability, but then I had my makeup trial... When the makeup artist was applying the makeup, she told me that none of the products/colors she was using for the trial would be the same as what she'd use for the wedding. (So what was the purpose of the trial?) The foundation was orange (I'm very fair skinned). She didn't have the color pallet I asked for, for the lipstick and eye shadows (mauve/wine colors), and the mascara ran all over my face when I started crying after I left. Even though the artist said she'd get the colors I asked for, I still never got to see what I'd actually look like on my wedding day. When I kindly expressed my concerns (I was still willing to work with them because they'd been so friendly at the salon), the owner said I should look elsewhere for bridal services. She was completely unwilling to work with me and address these valid concerns I had. She also said that no bride walks away from a trial knowing what she'll look like on her wedding day. Ladies, this is completely untrue. That is the exact reason for a trial, so the bride can sleep at night knowing she won't have any crazy hair issues or bad makeup on the most important day of her life. Their lack of customer loyalty was devastating, especially given I have a large wedding party of 9 women, so we're talking hundreds of dollars here. I'm glad I discovered this before my wedding day. The salon is probably fine for everyday hair cuts and whatnot, but I highly recommend brides look online for professional bridal hair and makeup services. I'd hate for another bride to have the same experience I did. read more

I had my first visit to Ravin yesterday for a partial highlight and a cut. My friend recommended Kelly Davis. The shop was very clean and everyone is very friendly. I was able to get right in with Kelly. We talked about the things I did and didn't like with my hair and the services I needed. She applied the highlights with foil, and then I was put under the steamer (SO much nicer than a dryer when trying to speed up the color). They had complimentary refreshments available while you are waiting. The hair washing room is awesome! It's set up like a spa room, and the chairs have footrests. They have great Paul Mitchell products to wash your hair with. From there, Kelly cut my hair. She was great with the scissors and knew exactly what I was looking for. I'm so happy with the results and the price that I will definitely come back. read more

My Wife got an appointment for 13:00 and we came in 10 minutes before the appointment for full color and highlights. The started and paint the roots and started the highlights. After the girl wash her hair on the room, she came and told my wife that she will be unable to complete her appointment and hair drying because her next appointment for 3:30 pm just arrived and she basically kick my wife out charging me for a total of $180.00 with out the hair drying. The owner was there and she make nothing that was disrespectful totally and the best they can do is to tell the 3:30 appointment to wait and apologize with him instead we coming out with the hair wet. This never happen before to me at any place. I ended in another Beauty drying my wife hair and the did a better work on that, this was the worst appointment ever and I can't believe you treat customers like a pice of crab. By the way the owner said that the receptionist do appointments and they don't know how much hair is for each client so they don't know how much will my wife be waiting and the time need. I went to this salon on January 3, 2013 for a colour and cut. The salon was very clean, modern, and I was impressed with the surroundings when I walked in. The stylist that did my cut and colour appeared to know what she was doing, and I liked that she was able to match my original hair colour. and add a highlight. After the rinse and shampoo, she dried my hair and realized she missed some colour on the back of my hair. She asked one of the other stylist's to mix up some colour, and she applied the colour and put me back under the dryer. After another round in the shampoo room, she cut my hair. I told her that I wanted my bangs trimmed, but not above my eyebrows. When she finished, they were very short, and probably closer to an inch above my brows.She pulled my hair back and styled it, but appeared to be in a hurry, as her next client was waiting. I went home thinking that even though my bangs were cut short, they were cut correctly. Much to my surprise after washing my hair, I realized that my bangs were really uneven, and hanging down on one side. I texted my best friend who has been in cosmotology for 30 years in another state, and attached a picture of my bangs. She said, OMG you have to go back. I was very upset, and was unable to get back to this salon until January 24, 2013, because of my job. When I walked into the salon, I was suprised to see the stylist who cut and coloured my hair upfront in the receptionist booth. There didn't appear to be a manager in the salon. I voiced my concerns to the stylist, and told her that my bangs weren't cut correctly and showed her. The entire time I was in this salon, she kept saying that the back of my hair on one side was cut too short by someone else. I told her I wasn't talking about the back side of my hair, I was talking about the bangs she cut. When she finished trimming them she asked me, are you happy now. I said yes, and she said, well your hair still looks like it doesn't match to me. Have a nice day! I will never go back to this salon again. This stylist was extremely rude and never appologized for my inconvenience, or even acted like she cared. I paid this stylist 95.00 plus a 25.00 tip on January 3, 2013, and this is the kind of treatment I received as a customer. read more

It was incredible. And that is not all I have to say. They are extremely social and great with communicating, even with kids. They gave us cookies, my dad a coffee, my brother a sprite, and sprite for me also. When we walked in, they treated us like we were family. I felt like we have been friends forever. The person who cut my hair did a fantastic job. She made sure I got exactly what I wanted and was very careful with her job. After she cut my hair it was the best hair cut I've had in a long time. Same with my brother. They have incredible pricing. Since I like to keep my hair long it can be pretty difficult to cut but they made it look professional. Everybody there loves to talk and is very happy. If there was a way to give 10 stars I would give them 11 stars, because this was the best hair cutting place I have ever been to. Horrible Place! I went in for a hair cut (V shape and layers) they did a horrible job. Went to dye my hair black and color washed out in 2 weeks. Owner, liz, promised and guaranteed me that if the color falls out she would return my money back. When I called to get a refund they start making excuses that everyone's color falls out with in 4 weeks...BULL! I'm not a new client but I'm So dissatisfied with today service . I went to Ravin hair I had an appointment arrive 10 minutes prior my appointment. I went for full head highlights,roots and blow dry hair. Once they were done with color and finishing washing my hair I was informed that they couldn't blow dry my hair because the next client was about to arrive. I spent 180.00 they were asking for a tip . The only thing that they offer was a complementary blow dry for the next appointment. I don't understand why they have to ask me to come back another time! Neither why they couldn't ask the other client to wait until they were done with me. I'm a very disappointed with Katie also the owner I did not ask for a discount. I just want my hair done .
