I am leaving this review on behalf of my mother who my heart breaks for after her extremely disappointing experience at this salon. My mom had been going to get her haircuts with a specific woman at this salon when the stylist told her she should change her hair color next appt. My mom had always had the same color and was content but decided to be open to a little change. She asked for a brown color with a reddish hue and when she FaceTimed me for the reveal she was crying in the chair with red hair closely resembling Archie from the Archie comic books. My mother is a single mom and is very intentional about what she spends so that she can sustain herself independently and care for my younger sister too, so the fact that her hair was botched AND she was still charged the original and full price I am absolutely disgusted!! It took me, my mom, and sister to come up with a plan for the stylist to get my mom's hair back to a normal shade so she can actually go out in public. I get it we all make mistakes but the worst part is how she was treated. The stylist kept saying it looked fine and even used another lady's two cents at the salon to convince my mother she looked just fine even though she sat there in tears. And when my mother tried asking her a question about the new color she was going to use to fix the horror of the first, she responded "no". Then had the audacity to say later on "oh you had a question"? It took everything for me not to call this woman myself and tell her how unprofessional she was and remind her how to treat paying customers. My mother was shut down, feels horrible that she wasted money, and blames herself for this horrendous experience. She will not return obviously and we will find her some place that will treat her with respect and a place that has the skill set to achieve the results she was hoping for. read more

Last time coming here! Please note I mentioned the haircut and style was for a special occasion AKA IMPORTANT. Needless to say my special day was ruined and there was no care for the customer or sense of customer service in this place. If you'd like to know why proceed to read below. First two times I got a cut and blow dry with who seems to be the owner/manager and it was great. 3rd time was a walk in and I got a lady who didn't ask much and just started cutting and styling it the only way she knows how. 4th time I specified I DID NOT want the lady that cut my hair last time. I was told she no longer worked there (THAT WAS A LIE). I wanted to get a some highlights, a trim, a treatment, and a blow dry. I walk into my 8 am appointment to be greeted by the same lady that did my hair last time(red flag). Hoping I'd see the manager I proceed with the wash and treatment and DECLINED the highlights because of the stylist I had. Manager/owner didn't come in until halfway through my appointment. Here is where it all goes down hill: -The mask or deep conditioning treatment wasn't even left on for 5 MINUTES. I could've done a better treatment at home for what I was charged. -I explain the issue I have with my hair as it it color treated and there's a lot of breakage. I didn't not want to thin it more. She proceeds to cut and cut and cut. And ends up giving me THE EXACT same haircut I got from her last time. -She's styling my hair and doing it the only was she knows how, I asked for it to by styled in the direction I normally part my hair. END RESULT: I don't like my hair, I'm on the verge of tears m, I don't want her to do anything else to it and I ask to speak with the person who booked my appointment. Manager proceeds to tell me, "when I saw it was the same person I should've declined the appointment." This is AFTER I MENTIONED that I specified and was told that lady no longer works there when booking my appointment. All the while still trying to convince me it looks good. If the customer doesn't like it please don't try to convince them otherwise. At this point I'm crying and explaining how I did everything to prevent this and if there's any way she can fix it. Manager/owner proceeds to tell me there's nothing she can do to help. Not an apology, not a discount, only a time slot to come back and "see what she can do" at 4:30/5:15 pm when I mentioned my event was at 4pm. I got my hair with highlights/cut by Emily. She started with dividing the hair proportionally and the color that came out with nothing that I was expecting. I wasn't happy with it and I did let her know. She started drying my hair from top and I told her to start on the bottom, no blower skills at all. At the end, it was not even polished, the hair looked dull with no shine at all. I didn't let her finish. It's a hair cuttery so I should've had lower expectations and probably not gone with bangs here. Told Marina I parted my hair in the middle and she did the whole hair cut with it parted that way then changed my part for the bangs which I should've questioned but assumed it was part of the process so I didn't. I got out to the car and called my mom and even she was like you HAVE to go back in. I said I don't want to cause I feel bad, I don't even send food back at a restaurant lol. I even tipped 20% cause she was so nice and I liked the length of the bob. I went back in and she peeked out at me from the back a few times, I think she thought I was going to be mad cause I came back in. So I waited for another lady to conduct a whole entire haircut and bangs on someone else before she finally came out and told the other lady she was in the bathroom despite me making eye contact with her in the back multiple times throughout the haircut. She sat me to fix it and tried to part my hair off center multiple times and I had to keep telling her that it was too far right till she finally let me part it (the same way it was the entire cut till the bangs) to which she said "oh so leaning left." I went for a simple hair cut with some layers. I showed a picture of exactly what I was looking for, which was a cut with length past my shoulders. My stylist assured me that she knew exactly what I wanted. During the service, I noticed my hair looked way shorter than I asked for (while wet). I knew that when it dried it was going to be even shorter. My heart dropped into my stomach because I never wear my hair this short. I went home and styled it the best I could and because of how short it now is, I cannot put my hair up. This should have been a no brainer hair cutting service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR!!! My mother came home crying today after her hair cut. And keep in mind she has long beautiful curly hair. And she just needed a trim. But she comes home and number one it was uneven. Number two the hair on the side of her face was not only uneven BUT WAAAAY TO SHORT!! She tells me that they took a THINNER to her hair. And for those who don't know what that is it's an evil destructor of curly hair. It's a razor and makes our hair super frizzy AND WAY TOO SHORT!!! Thankfully our hair grows back quick. i called and scheduled a hair cut for my son for later on in that same evening. The stylist I spoke to confirmEd the appointment and I got a text confirming my appointment time I had requested. On the way to the Hair Cuttery I got a text from Hair Cuttery thanking us for visiting the Hair Cuttery at St Cloud Commons. This was strange since we were in route and had not arrived at the store. When I got there, the stylists working told me there was no record of him having an appointment in their system. So frustrating. We left without the haircut. They offered to cut his hair after the client they had. But it was late and we didn't want to wait around for something that should have been schedule, was scheduled and then mysteriously canceled out. Not sure what the problem is, just wish they fix it. read more

She is one of those hairdressers that when you are done you won't want to go home and change anything. She does exactly want you what how you want. Looks perfect everytime. She will let you know before she starts if she doesn't think the color or the cut you picked will look good. Never tries to up sale you. I have been to many Hair Cutterys over the years and have always had good cuts at these places. They know the proper techniques. However, I will say that you almost never walk out of there paying the basic prices that they have posted on their website. It's set up in way that you only pay basic if a less experienced stylist is there and not a senior stylist. Also a basic blow dry is them just lightly drying your hair and no styling. Styling at all is deluxe and you pay more. It's a good place but just don't get fooled by the cheap standard price of 18 dollars. You will probably pay more like 30 to 50 dollars. This isn't where you go to save money. But if you want your cut done right the first time go here. read more

I went to the Hair Cuttery in St. Cloud, Fl. Got my haircut with Christine. Her reviews were great so I thought I'd give her a try. I showed her a picture of the cut and style I wanted. She said, "Yey, I got it, " and proceeded to cut it her way, too short and with bangs. It looked nothing like the picture. Now, I have to wait until the style grows out. I have been coming to this particular Hair Cuttery for almost 30 years! This past weekend I scheduled an online appointment for the $32 shampoo, haircut and blow dry. I arrived and the stylist did a great haircut and seemed nice but while she was blowing my hair dry the other stylist spoke Spanish to my stylist and I distinctly heard "Tonta's gringo" and they both laughed. As I was the only Caucasian person in the entire salon I was offended. When I went up to pay the stylist said okay, slide your card. There was nothing showing on the screen of the card machine and I said well how much is it? She told me $53! What? I said well that's a huge difference than the $32 appointment I set the appointment for and I showed her my appointment confirmation. Now all the sudden she can't speak English very well and said oh, me blow dry fluff. Fluff costs more. Ridiculous!! I paid and even tipped her but I will never, EVER go back to this Hair Cuttery. Not only was I offended but I was overcharged and laughed at as I left. Hair Cuttery has lost a 30 year customer. read more

I've been going here for 2 years. My whole family goes here. Me and my mom recently went in, she went in for color and I went in for a cut. She was treating me to a haircut, so I wasn't paying. I went in after my mom did and I got put with Jade. First opinion of her was that she's awesome, great personality, good people person, good conversationalist. She made it seem as if we were friends. As we were ending my hair cut, she asked if I wanted to curl my hair, i asked if it was extra, since I wasn't paying. I made it clear multiple times I wasn't paying. She said it was $12 extra, I didn't have time because I had to be at work . So I declined. She talked me into getting shampoo and conditioner, because the brand I was using was "bad" for my hair. She talked me into getting bigger bottles. But I can't express enough how PUSHY she was, not only with me but my mom. Trying to get me to buy it'sa10 products for my hair, that me and mom said over and over again we already had everything. I left to go to work, and my mom stayed and when she went up to pay. To top everything else off, she over charged us for my cut by $40!!! My mom's stylist said that she is known for doing that. Why on earth would you keep someone at your business that is known for overcharging people !!! My mom went in the next day and got a refund for my cut. The owner said they charged more for longer hair. Ok, that's reasonable. But another $40 because my hair is long? Needless to say, I will never be going back. read more

I've been going here for about 8 years, and I've gotten everything from really excellent to really terrible haircuts. It seems to depend on who you get. Everytime I get someone who gives an excellent haircut, they do tend to leave the salon. After being disappointed with my last haircut, and this time waiting over an hour (they told me wait time 25 minutes) I don't think I will be returning. I walked out after the lady who came in 20 minutes after me was seen before me (I think I know why, but I won't make accusations), and then two people walked into the salon and were helped while I was ignored. I know the lady wasn't trying to pass me off because of my tipping. I have never had her before and I always tip 50%-70% on a haircut (even when I don't like it), so I know I couldn't have a bad reputation there. I value their time and I believe one should always tip well, and if I don't like the cut I just won't go back to that person again. Good tips are also an incentive for them to remember me and do a good job if I like them and return again, and as I've said I want to have a good reputation at the salon so I'm always polite and tip well. I felt very slighted. In all, I am just sick of mediocre to bad haircuts punctuated by good haircuts which can't be replicated because the good stylists leave, and this last experience was the last straw. read more
