The restaurant has a Jamaican vibe to it with painted walls and the music playing making it a fun place to eat. They have both inside and outside dining as well. And the best is yet to come the food is fantastic. The marinara sauce that comes with the garlic bread is fantastic, i know it's only marinara sauce but it is the best I've ever had by far. Started with the garlic bread and curry dipping sauce...Unfortunately, the highlight of the meal. Really wasn't impressed with the garlic bread itself, similar in quality to Olive Garden. As the grandson of an Italian restauranteur, I guess my bar is set relatively high. The curry sauce was decent. Ordered Rasta pasta and spicy shrimp plates. Completely unimpressed with the marinara sauce. Would've been better with a lot less sauce, actually. I've had plenty of jerk seasoning before, but seemed awfully heavy in allspice and clove. Was left thinking that Italian food should be left Italian, Jamaican food left Jamaican. Used to brag to friends that taking your date there increased the size of your "charisma" as everybody walked out of their old Breckenridge location ready to party. It is conveniently located downtown, so it's a perfect place to begin a night out or end a day out shopping...or simply for the main event of your outing! It consists of penne noodles, a fresh vegetable medley, spicy jerk sauce and an extra vegetable and tofu medley, since I asked for it vegan style. That's right, Rasta pasta will make ANY menu item vegan or gluten free! Every bite of my pasta was delightful, warming me down to my very soul and replenishing every carbohydrate that I've ever lost. The flavor was exciting, the vegetables were tender yet crunchy and the tofu added a wonderful high protein pizazz. Even the side piece of bread was phenomenal! The smells that hit you when you enter get the stomach juices running, so if you aren't hungry, you will start feeling hungry. We ordered the Tortellini Jamaica Mon, the Rasta Pasta and the Natural Mystic pastas. You can choose your level of spice and as someone who LOVES spicy food, please order the highest spice level if you do too. I ordered level 2 out of the 3 and had to add a lot of jerk sauce and chili flakes to make mine spicy. The Tortellini Jamaica Mon is on the sweeter side with bananas, pineapple and grapes. It is a white sauce based pasta. My friend who can't handle the spicy stuff, was definitely intrigued by it all and enjoyed it. The Rasta Pasta was marinara based and good but also needed more spice. I think the marinara took away from how spicy it could've been, especially with the jerk chicken in there. I LOVED mine, which was the natural mystic. For those familiar with it, this is what masala Maggi or curry ramen taste like. This one had penne pasta instead of a noodle component. It has pineapple curry sauce but it's not too strong to make it tangy. You get jerk chicken, cilantro, garlic, green onions and honestly, it is a delight to the palate (spiciness aside of course). I finished every bit of it and that says something, since I usually take half the portion home. We got margaritas to go with the pasta and they were delicious!! They also give them to you to go, which I loved immensely. For dessert, we got the bananas Marley which was basically ice cream with caramelized bananas. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! The warm caramel with the cold ice cream, was a complex but wonderful experience to the palate. I feel bad giving a bad review but I guess that's what reviewing is for. First of all, when I saw it was a Jamaican fusion place I was expecting to see Jamaicans working there but there weren't. Maybe it is Jamaican owned but I'm not sure. Anyhow, I ordered two pasta dishes that seemed highly recommended either on Yelp or even on the menu. My husband and I were going to share both dishes. When the Chicken Montego Bay came, it smelled very strong to me but I am pretty sensitive to smells so I didn't think anything of it. However when I ate it, it was not a good bite. The only flavor note I enjoyed was the pineapple but I didn't think it was a tasty bite. I ate just a few more to try and could not eat it any more so I passed it to my husband. I don't know if it was the cheese that didn't taste good but I just couldn't eat it. Then the other pasta dish came, the Rasta Pasta and I was hopeful it'll be better. Not at all. It might have been worse. It just tasted weird and very sour so I could not eat much of it too. I ended up eating some of the garlic bread. It might be just me but this fusion or at least the dishes I got just didn't taste good. Sorry but I'm not going back. Oh my pasta was this place good! We sat outside on the patio where heaters are provided if it's chilly out. I ordered the Rum Punch which was delicious albeit very sweet. My husband decided on the Dreadlock Ravioli with jerk chicken and I ordered a side salad because I knew the bread and curry sauce were going to fill me up. The good-sized bowl of curry dipping sauce (Jamaican curry with hints of pineapple and spice)Was accompanied by six slices of toasted garlic French bread. It was incredibly tasty! Before we finished the bread, our main dishes were delivered. My husband's ravioli looked and smelled delicious - a large bowl of cheese-filled pasta swimming in chunky tomato-paste-like sauce with large chunks of shredded jerk chicken. My husband loved it! (The sauce is a bit too tomato-y for me, but he adores it.) The pasta was accompanied by yet another slice of toasted, perfectly garlicky bread. A great lunch deal!!! My small side salad (only three dollars) was full of fresh lettuce and tomatoes and I had the Citrus Spice dressing on the side. The dressing was wonderful and the salad was tasty. Since we still had curry sauce left after finishing our bread, I asked for a small order of bread (only one dollar) and ate the rest of the sauce as my dessert! Also saw that this place was featured on diners, drive-ins and dives so that's cool too. We ordered the 2 most popular pasta dishes recommended by the server. The Pasta Rasta and Montego Bay. Unique combination of flavors in each of the dishes, but good. I preferred the Montego Bay because it had lots of vegetables in it and the sauce is creamy. 4 or 5 stars???? This was a tough decision but I don't want to hurt Rasta Pasta because all was 5 stars except for one thing. The atmosphere is what you would expect in a Rasta restaurant: speakers covering a wall and Rasta music - thankfully not too loud, the wait staff friendly, the portions huge (we took home half our meals even though they were lunch portions), and one of our dinners delicious. The seafood Alfredo was so tasty but that was my husband's. I ordered the spicy jammin'. I love Jamaican food and have a recipe that uses a tablespoon of Cajun seasoning but this was too much Cajun seasoning or it should have been balanced with something to cut it. A bit of Parmesan helped. Maybe more cayenne for a bit more spice would have been nice. The shrimp in the dish was soooo good! Perfectly cooked, fresh, and a bit of a crunch. Strangely, when I asked for help on another site as to how to grade, even though I had not mentioned the name of the restaurant, the first person to respond said she felt that way about Rasta Pasta. read more

As always, the food and staff at Rasta Pasta was amazing!!! I haven't been here since I moved to TN a few years back. I had the pleasure of having both Anna and Eric as servers/helpers with my order and recommendations. Both were cheerful and helpful. I normally get the Seafood Alfredo with two plus ups on the heat, but I asked Anna about the Spicy Jammin. I wanted to make sure if I did my normal two plus ups on the heat it wouldn't be too spicy, and Anna assured me it would have the same heat but with the jerk spice twist. It did not disappoint. I mentioned to them both that I was visiting from TN and wanted to take my girlfriend back her favorite dish, the Chicken Montego Bay, but I needed a way to transport it. Anna immediately went to the kitchen to get their advice. She came back with a solution. Meanwhile I struck up a conversation with Eric. He is funny guy. We talked about Rasta Pasta and their philosophy of making everything fresh and to order. I was impressed with his knowledge of the company. His cheerful demeanor was a plus.
