Byron arrived at our house on Monday, 7/23 at 9 am and was done with his diagnosis by 9:30 and he said he would send his diagnosis to the warranty company when he got back to the office. The warranty company let us know that the full unit replacement had been ordered and was available for pick up Thursday, 8/2/18. Rich and Byron were at our home the very next day, Friday, 8/3 by 8 am to begin the AC replacement. Several hours later, everything was done. Before leaving, the owner said that if we had any questions, big or small, we could call them any time. South Suburban H & AC went out of their way to restore heat to our house after the December 2017 -…read moreJanuary 2018 deep freeze ended and a pipe in our radiant heating system burst, leaving us without heat for almost 5 days. This house was built in 1951 and has hot water heating pipes between the plastered ceiling and the attic insulation. For 66 years there had been one section of pipe that was routed at the top of an outside wall without consequence. but on Sunday night, January 7th at 10 pm as the outside temperature reached 32 degrees for the first time in 20 days, the pipe ruptured, flooded the room's ceiling and shut down the hot water heating of the entire house. The ceiling was removed (Phoenix Restoration did a great job) to allow access to the area with the ruptured pipe on Thursday afternoon, and I then called South Suburban. Luckily the weather had warmed up and the house was at 60 degrees at 5 pm. However, a cold front came through overnight and dropped the outside temperature to below 20 degrees by dawn. South Suburban rescheduled John, one of their experienced workers to arrive at the house at 1:30 on Friday (next day) afternoon. He was able to cut out the section of pipe with the rupture and re-route the pipe inside of the wall after custom making copper fittings for the old pipe before the new piece of copper could be soldered in place. John then was able to bleed air from the system of pipes and restart the hot water boiler. At 4:45 pm on Friday, heat was restored, and the house temperature started to recover as the outside temperature was down to 10 degrees. The weekend temperatures did not exceed 20. Dave, the president of the company was very responsive, and I cannot thank him and his worker John enough squeezing my house into their busy schedule and taking the required time to restore heat to the house.

They sent a kid who tells me the issue may be a cracked heat exchange & carbon monoxide leaking because I told him I had gotten dizzy before he arrived. Instead of telling me at that point he doesn't have the proper equipment to detect a CO leak he runs out to his work truck several times looking for equipment he knew he did not have. When he finally comes clean about not having the equipment he needs, he says for me to call the Fire Dept. because they have the equipment. I'm foolishly thinking YOU ARE A HEATING REPAIR COMPANY if you don't have the equipment someone in your company should right? WRONG!! I called the owner who tells me they tell all of their customers in an instance like this to call the Fire Dept. Owner proceeds to say, because the kid drove here, spent 45 minutes removing screws which he should not have & feeding a camera with as the kid put it, "not very good picture" in the furnace he earned the fee. Kid told me furnace had rust. I had to call a reputable company and the Fire Dept. who both confirmed no CO. Real repair guy says there is no crack and showed me pictures of inside furnace with NO RUST. Thank God furnace is running properly. Not only did these guys make off with $141 of my money but had nerve to say once Fire Dept. comes out call them back, here is your call back!!!
