After being disappointed by another boba shop in the area, we still wanted a decent drink. Rare Tea had the next highest average review score, so that's where we went. We got one drink: Black Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.00) - I believe the tea here is pre-mixed with non-dairy milk. The specified sugar level is added to the drink, and then they add some thick black liquid (perhaps some brown sugar syrup?), and finally top off the drink with more tea. The store offers both brown sugar boba and regular boba. I asked what the difference is, and the barista explained that the brown sugar boba was cooked and soaked in brown sugar, whereas the normal boba was only soaked in brown sugar. I opted for the original. The tea here has a good black tea flavor, a bit fragrant overall, and is better than the average chain boba shop. The boba is cooked a little less than desirable, but not too bad. It's just a little harder than what a perfectly cooked boba should be. The overall drink quality here is pretty good. I would happily return to Rare Tea if I'm ever in Las Cruces again. read more

Went to get two caramelized brown sugar boba teas at 8:30 on 8/17. They told us there was only boba for one drink. It's a bummer to go out all that way to a boba shop that doesn't have boba when it's still an hour and a half before close. The drinks themselves were very tasty still. read more

The place inside is clean with cute decor. Customer service was average. However, it is sad to say that I have never had worse tapioca pearls in my life. These were inedible. Very hard and not chewy at all. These were undercooked. I'm very shocked they served these tapiocas customers. Also, they ran out of boba straws. I have never experienced this before. You are literally a boba cafe, so you should always have appropriate sizes straws in stock. We were given very skinny straws to suck up our large bobas with. I can't even rate the drinks themselves because the bobas are why I entered this store to begin with. You have been warned. read more

This Boba Tea place just opened. I ordered my favorite Mango passion fruit tea to compare to other Boba Tea places I tried and was quite impressed. They even asked how sweet I like my drink. That customized question on how sweet I want my drink makes this place more authentic because most Boba Tea places would ask that. Glad to have them in the area so I don't have to drive across town. read more

Got the Thai tea and my husband got the mango tea we both enjoyed our drinks and look forward to coming back again. They have a nice large menu with dairy free options. Employees were nice and the decor was cool enjoyed the AOT sign. Will be back! read more

I don't know if I am the world's best judge of boba as this was the first drink with boba that I ever had. I ordered the mango smoothie with boba. It took probably 10 minutes to make. I took the drink outside because there was pretty loud club musing whanging away inside, but there are nice outside patio tables. The drink was very good although I thought it was also rather expensive, at over $6. read more

I loved rare tea, used to get it all the time with zero issue. Last time however, I had ordered a strawberry milk shake thingy (forgot the name) with ice cream, something I get pretty often. It came in a wrong size but I didn't care much, wasn't a huge issue. Until I got to the bottom of my drink (I was not sober and unfortunately didn't notice until I got to the bottom) ​was full of shards of something hard. It's a drink I get pretty often so I knew it wasn't right, it wasn't melting or dissolving, and tasted like nothing. I realized it was little shards of plastic. I had them all over my mouth, and all in the drink, and consumed who knows how many. My mom called, they said they'd get back to us after speaking to the person who made it, ​but they never got back to us. Wasn't sure what else I could do about this, so have a review ig? I wish I had taken photos or videos now, but it's been thrown out. I wasn't too upset, but the lack of care they had after feeding someone literal plastic is too far, do better, you're serving ppl food ffs, maybe put just the bare minimum of care into it at the very least? First time I came here the line wrapped outside of the store, I left. I found out later this was because it was buy on get one free day. Came here today in hopes of finally getting to try this new place out and supporting the business. Left disappointed yet again. As soon as I tried to order the woman behind the counter said, "We only have one cup, you can wait until we get more cups from storage or share a cup" I came here with my family of four and we were not going to share one drink. We were not offered any type of apology at all for such an unprofessional inconvenience. This business is a joke. Wasted gas and time yet again trying to support this new business.
