Rare Earth is a wonderful gem and rock gallery. You'll see small and large specimens. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. It was like revisiting the Tucson rock and gem show. I visited even after seeing some of reviews, because it is nothing I am not used to where I live. I was pleasantly surprised I didn't feel watched at all, or looked down on. The place itself feels more like a museum. The prices feel like a museum. Maybe museums are buying the items? Each aisle has something pretty to look at, and outdoors as well. I know I wasn't going to able to afford anything, so I went in just to stare. They also have a nice selection of jewelry as well. Even the smaller items, seem priced out a little higher than they should, but I was able to just walk at my leisure, and I wasn't asked anything, or upsold which I appreciated. They were having a scavenger hunt for kids at the time we went in, which I thought was a fun idea. The kids got a treat at the end of it. There was also a woman talking to various people, and sharing interesting tidbits . There is a cool transformers guy out front you should visit. I keep coming back to this store year after year. The items they have are amazing... from sculptures to human-sized geodes to smoked quartz slabs that you can get lost staring into. Unfortunately, their prices are insane... and not in a good "The Wiz!" way. So until I hit the lotto, it will remain a look and dream business for me. read more

A beautiful store packed with amazing pieces but unfortunately everything is incredibly overpriced. The staff does seem to be paranoid about shoplifters (Possibly for good reason) and is fairly unfriendly to customers unless they are dressed very well. The staff I encountered was also fairly inexperienced in mineralogy. They didn't know the difference between Aquamarine and Topaz or Citrine vs Amber. read more

The Green River Formation is an Eocene geologic formation that records the sedimentation in a group of intermountain lakes in three basins along the present-day Green River in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. Wikipedia I made a trip to Rare Earth Gallery to pick out my Christmas present.  Place is huge and the selection extraordinary.  In addition to all the treasures inside there was a good selection of water fountains out back.  Lovely view of the mountains. Inside were bowls for sound therapy and minerals of all shapes and sizes.  I loved the cool sounds you can make with the bowls. What caught my eyes were the fish fossils.  The coolest looking was the fridge size panel.  Sadly the $40k panel was out of our budget.  I did find an affordable $129 one.  It was a  Knightia eocaena Fossil Fish .  Fish fossils are from Kemmerer, Wyoming Green River Formation Eocene age (45-50 MYA).  Lovely piece of history now displayed in my living room.  :-) So much cool stuff to see here and excellent customer service from the friendly staff. read more

A Rare and Beautiful Find - Thank You, Rare Earth Gallery I've lived in Arizona for 33 years, and I'm amazed I'd never discovered Rare Earth Gallery until now. I was searching for a 7-inch amethyst centerpiece for my kitchen table when the internet led me to their store. I visited on a Saturday morning, and from the moment I walked in, I was captivated. I've been to many crystal mines and shops over the years, but I've never seen crystals as stunning as those at Rare Earth Gallery. Their inventory is truly unmatched. We arrived here on a rainy day in December. Hearing nothing but rave reviews of this place from a family member. Think of the most beautiful, huge, expensive piece of artwork you'd ever seen that would look just fabulous in your home. This is the place to find it. Not to worry smaller, affordable pieces of artwork & jewelry can be found. You only need to look. Upon walking in I was drawn to the gentleman making the large rose quartz bowl sing. Standing up on a platform surrounded by various bowls, he would switch off holding what looked like a drum stick. Then slowly drag the stick on the outside of each bowl. The bowls sing in different keys. I stood transfixed listening to the siren calls for a long while. Then I was offered a turn making the bowl sing becoming more hooked as the sound passed thru me. Long story short, if I could afford a solid rose quartz bowl about the size of my small suitcase then it would be sitting in my room right now. The singing just made me feel like I was being healed from the inside out. Truly magical. We spent the rest of the afternoon discovering and soaking in each treasure. They have a few sofas strategically placed for optimum viewing. Marble, quartz, stone, fossils, precious gems, metal, silver, turquoise, wood & more incorporate numerous art pieces. I've been wanting to come in this place for a while. Every time I pass by or see an advertisement in Phoenix Home & Garden it piqued my interest. I love stones, crystals and beautiful art from the earth. I finally visited this past week and loved it. Wow, they have some amazingly beautiful pieces. I would buy so much in their if my budget allowed. Definitely don't come with a clumsy friend or kid who likes to destroy things haha because most of the price tags are extremely expensive. There are more affordable and smaller items that are great, but I would love to one day buy one of their bigger pieces. After I finished shopping at the Olive Oil Company, the manager told me I really needed to check out Rare Earth, so I walked the two blocks not knowing what to expect. All I can say is Wow! It was unexpected and truly amazing. Who knew you could buy a beautiful sculpture of a larger than life iguana or half of a geode big enough to hide inside? In addition to these over the top wonders there were many aisles of jewelry with gemstones from all over the world. I wound up with one of the least expensive items in the store: some fossil kitchen magnets. Yes, some things were quite expensive, but there was variety at all price levels. read more

I was happily surprised that my initial expectation was wrong. From the large stone carved wolf and giant bath tubs, I expected extraordinary prices. What I found inside was several different sized pieces at a variety of prices, of which were affordable. The art work is all amazing and shows great talent. A person could spend hours looking around and not see everything. I overheard a local resident talking with staff, "Whenever I have guests from out of town, I always bring them here." A tad pricey in comparison to other crystal shops-and believe you me, when it comes to crystal shops, I've been around the block. Crystals to me are like clothes and shoes to other girls. A Citrine that would be $20-$30 at a Sedona store is $60+ here. But in the end, the investment is worth it. Especially since this store has so many stunning, vibrant and energetic pieces. If you can afford the $$ to $$$ price point, I dare you to not take one of their Amethyst pieces home. I was lucky to find a Celestite heart for $30. My new friend was inserted into a box, then a tiny bag. The store provides masks and gloves for you to use while you browse. The two associates Mom and I met today were friendly, and they weren't overly aggressive for sales. read more

For most of us this is just a Gallery and Not a Store to shop at. The store is adorned with the largest several Ton Crystal found. (but was under protected covering) Not just another Rock Shop it more like the very best of the Tuscan Gem Show. You will see Large Breath Taking Dazzling Gems that you can't afford. Dazzling tables with bases of gems. Some beautiful artwork. Art Glass. I saw the most beautiful slabs of stones inlayed with gems to be cut for either custom tables or counter tops that cost around $450.00 - $950.00 a FOOT. These are the people that also install those beautiful thin stone walls that light up like what you see in some of the fine places like in Las Vegas. They also sell a small amount of tourist jewelry. For me this place is a Gallery. If I hit the lottery I will shop here. This was my favorite stop in Cave Creek. read more

This used to be one of my daughter's favorite crystal stop but last time she went a sales women treated my daughter horribly. Unsafe, Overpriced, & Rude! This store still REQUIRES masks. They have MANY rude signs saying do not touch and you are on camera. This store is unsafe. Along with signs that say if you break anything you must buy it, most of the items in the overcrowded store are displayed precariously on shelves. The prices are ridiculously high. read more

So after reading the other reviews, I was prepared to see some large prices, but nothing can prepare you for the sticker shock on some of their items. But, and this is very important, IT"S ALL WORTH IT!! These guys don't mess around. We are somewhat avid stone, crystal, and mineral collectors, and they had things here that we had either never seen before, or here larger than any specimen we had ever seen or heard of! They literally have Geodes that are over 6 feet tall. They have quartz crystals that are almost 9 feet tall. They had a polished Labradorite stone that must have weighed north of 500 lbs! And don't count on the website reflecting their current inventory as they are constantly selling things and filling the void with new exciting stuff. They absolutely and completely are taking the "quality vs. quantity" perspective, and it shows throughout the store. Now, don't let this scare you away, because they have plenty in the store that is entirely reasonably priced, so you can shop here with literally any budget. And they also do shipping at an entirely reasonable rate so you don't have to worry about things breaking in your suitcase. All of our items arrived in Wisconsin completely intact and unscathed, and some of them were extremely fragile. Then there is the service. everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE here is extremely attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very helpful, and it doesn't hurt that they are also beautiful inside and out :) If you are in the area at all, take a bit of your day and come here. It's an experience you will most certainly be talking about afterwards, guaranteed!!! read more
