Buc-ee’s

It's a beautiful sunny day in the mid 70s, smack dab in the middle of Missouri, and we made a stop…read moreat Buc-ee's off I-44 between Rolla and Springfield. Fuel was $3.11 per gallon here, and just four miles down the road it jumps to $3.49 per gallon. That alone makes this place worth pulling into. At this interchange, Buc-ee's paid for roundabouts on both sides, which is highly efficient. It's a brilliant idea and enables smooth traffic flow everywhere. This Buc-ee's has been here for about three years according to Brisket Bill, and it already feels like a staple stop. I stood there watching them chop fresh brisket and almost went with the Big Buckin' Brisket Sandwich XXL... but it was just two buckin' much for me. This is a nine dollar sandwich and worth every penny! It is outstanding! I did hear employees mumbling something about brisket on something. Maybe they were just bored and wanted to chop brisket. Maybe that's what they were saying. Since they already have a brisket Bill here in Springfield, Missouri, maybe I can be Brisket Bill in Huber Heights, Ohio! what's a 90 minute commute anyways? Buc-ee's 3284 N Beaver Rd Springfield, MO 65803

We don't have a Buc-ee's close enough to us just yet. So when we see one we need to stop and take…read moreit in. They have some pretty darn good beef Jerky and the station/store is huge! Soo many items. We picked up some beef jerky, fudge, candies cashews, some key chains, a brisket and cheese burrito, Taffy, gum, some other things and of course, gas. The washroom is pretty cool. Large! Store is clean, fully stocked and staff is very nice.

Costco - Butter chicken?! They should sell that in California!

Costco

With a week at the Airbnb coming up, we stopped into the Springfield Costco for a shop. Clean,…read moreorganized and yes, very well stocked with all the usual goodies we've come to expect from Costco. I found a few things in canned and frozen that came with us today. Checkout was easy on a late Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly no crowd at the checkout at this time. [Review 294 of 2025 - 417 in Missouri - 23857 overall]

First of all, I would like to say that already paying a decent amount of money for a membership…read morejust to be denied entry from 9 to 10 whenever I have to use the restroom desperately it's some pure bullshit. And secondly, not being able to use my father's membership to purchase things that he needed when we live an hour away just for them to tell me that I need to get my own membership or have him tagalong is pure bullshit as well. Both employees that denied me entry were both snobby and rude just like the Costco company itself. I've been in the store multiple times and even when I have been allowed entry, they were still snobby. If you're looking for a decent place to shop that respect its customers I would recommend going to Sam's Club instead Costco is not worth it. The food court is OK. The food isn't the best but I can guarantee Sam's Club has 10 times better quality food. Would not recommend shopping here ever. Also, a good note to take was that my father's service animal which was needed for PTSD was not allowed into Costco, which, according to Missouri law is illegal. If you are a beloved war veteran that has a service animal Sam's Club will allow you in, but Costco will not. If you struggle in crowded areas and need your service animal, Costco is not the place to go.

Where to even start? Okay, so here we go. I've been here plenty of times. Things I've noticed…read more Plenty of employees here, but most of them shooting the breeze with each other while there is only one employee working the register. The line to check out looks like a queue for getting into a Taylor Swift concert. The soda machines worked, but when trying to get a soda I noticed that every single cup below the soda dispensors were cracked down the side. So make sure to get one from next to, and not below the soda dispensers. Prices are damn near gouge worthy. Unless you're buying cigarettes, in which case they aren't bad. The pumps are filthier than the bathrooms, which is saying a lot. Overall the layout of the place didn't make sense. Don't even get me started on how dangerouse it is to get in and out of the place either. I only hit this place if my car is on absolute fumes, and even then I seriously consider risking it to get to the station on the other side of the freeway.

If I could give negative stars I would. Most disgusting bathroom on the planet. Literal poop all…read moreover the walls, floors, toilets(not the inside either). If it wasn't an absolute emergency that I needed a restroom I would have walked out. I will NEVER get anything from this store again. Seeing how they take care of the restroom, I can only imagine what the rest of the store looks like behind the scenes. This USED to be a frequent stop till today.
