I then went to their website link. I filled out a form requesting service and described my repair. I have an electric recliner that was coming loose. I could tell that nuts needed to be tightened and it was to the point that one had worked its way off. I received a text on my phone, fairly quickly, that said we do these kinds of repairs all the time. When would I be available on Friday (the 20th) which was the next day. I responded and they said the repair would be $150. I thought that was very expensive, but it needed to be done and I did not know who else to contact. So I agreed. Yesterday morning the young man who came was a little late but did get to my house, within the appointed hour. He was respectful and well mannered. He was well prepared with tools. He was Ukranian and spoke little English. He did have a translating app on his phone. He quickly did a good job, tightening all the nuts and I paid him in cash. I do think it was a bit of a pricing gouge, but the work seems well done and quick. And in comparison to the money spent on my chair and the life I will get out of it, it is a small price. The gentleman's name was Oleksander Tatsiuk and was with NextGen (Not Mr. B's)

This spring I realized that I needed to have the facia and siding of my house caulked/scraped and…read morerepainted. I was able to reach the other sides of my house myself on the ladder to get the job done, but the southwest side of the house was a significantly higher up, due to the slope of my property. I reached out to countless contractors, painters and handymen over the summer to see if anyone was interested/available, and had struck out. Contractors were either already busy, or not interested in the small-ish project (or just didn't respond at all). I had started to price out how much it would cost for me to rent a utility trailer to pick up some rented scaffolding and do the project myself. Then, a friend recommended Straight Arrow Construction. I checked out the website, confirmed there was adequate licensing/insurance on file with the state, and reached out via email. Lon responded a short time later, and stated he was interested in the project, and could complete it within the timeframe I was hoping for (about a month out). The price was reasonable (about $100 more than it would have cost me to rent a utility trailer and scaffolding) and we agreed on some tentative dates that my small-ish project could be squeezed in between other already scheduled projects. Lon arrived on the pre-discussed day, was friendly, and got the job done in about 5 hours (including set up and tear down). He did a great job, and even went above and beyond to caulk/paint areas that he saw needed it and were slightly outside of the area we had discussed. Would definitely recommend and will be considering him for any of my future projects!

I cannot say enough good things about Jared of J. Tanner…read moreTile & Stone. He's personable, patient, conscientious and true to his word. In mid-November 2020, Jared came by to give me a quote for tiling around my new fireplace. He arrived as scheduled, measured the space, looked at the tile options I was considering and even helped me decide which tile to go with based on his experiences and his eye for detail. He told me how much tile to order and gave me a great price for the install. Once the tiles arrived, we set the date for tiling. He arrived on the day and time as scheduled. His work was meticulous! He finished the tiling one day, and came back the next day to grout. The grout he chose went perfectly with the tile. I had bought, and finished, a piece of black walnut for the mantel, and was waiting on a set of hand-made iron brackets to cure before installation. Jared returned a week later to install the brackets and the mantel which presented a couple of challenges since the wood was bowed, more than a little, in the center. Jared measured, cut and chiseled the mantel to get it as close to perfection as humanly possible. Turns out, he was more of a perfectionist than me! I could not be happier with the end results. So if you're looking for a tile or stone installer, no matter the scope of the project, I highly recommend J. Tanner Tile & Stone for price, quality and customer service.

We decided on Steve and Travis because of their experience with siding AND windows, their prompt and friendly communication, and fair pricing. The project did extend 2 days more than they anticipated, but they let us know ahead of time and had valid reasons to extend the project. The windows came out excellent, and the team did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. They also checked our siding for possible water damage and covered up the windows extremely well with weathering material. It was refreshing to work with contractors who answered all your questions and responded in a timely manner. (My wife and I ask LOTS of questions.) In addition to all of this, they stood out for having a 10-year warranty on their labor (versus 1-2 years that many other companies offer). We would consider them again for any future work.

We have had the pleasure of working with Maxwell and Green Light on two separate projects…read more In 2023 we did a full bathroom remodel with Green Light Construction, and we loved working with Maxwell and the whole team. Maxwell works with excellent tile installers and cabinet makers, and we are thrilled with the end result. Our bathroom not only looks fantastic, but Maxwell was very thorough in making sure all the quirks that had gone into prior renovations of our 1909 home were fixed, and we feel so much better about the quality of our home than we did prior to construction. Maxwell was consistently excellent at communication, and was calm and kind with all of our questions and minor changes that came up on our end during the process. Everything came in on-budget and on-time, with no surprises. We wish we had more renovation needs, because we would love to work with Greenlight again. In July 2025, we had Maxwell and his team back to build an exterior deck/set of stairs, move a dryer vent, and build a wisteria trellis. Maxwell was very responsive, as usual, and was able to fit us into his schedule. The crew cleaned up thoroughly everday and minimized any disruption to our yard. Overall, we're extremely happy with the outcome; personally, I spend a good 10 minutes more a day in the shower because it's so nice! We highly, highly recommend Maxwell and Green Light.
