I visited as part of a large group, and it was my first time handling a firearm. Veronica was extremely patient in helping us with the registration process and provides information about the items available to us in a friendly manner. Inside the range Jimmy was a fantastic range-master. He took time to thoroughly explain safety measures, kept the range clean from spent shells, and was overall very professional. Between the ridiculous entry video and the unorganized, discombobulated cluster f of what was supposed to be an awesome first time appearance, just getting to the lane was a challenge. The range master seemed to be there, not to help or direct, but to bust balls and not allow shooters to mingle or enjoy shooting. Not just myself and brother, but our neighbors. Negative 5 stars. The staff here are excellent and sooo helpful! The range and shop are really nice. However, I was shocked at how loud it was in there. The metal stalls seem to only make things even loader and I was a little put off by having rifles and handguns in the same range area. I went to Range 54 because they had the gun I wanted to rent and try. So it was nice to try it before I bought it. I frequent another range here in town that is much quieter and has a separate range for rifles. read more

The service I've received at Range 54 is outstanding. I took the introduction to pistols coarse with the instructor Stuart Bruce and I felt that the class was very informative and comfortable for a beginner. I then took the Conceal and Carry with Ken Grommet and Stuart Bruce a few weeks later. This class was very well taught and professional but with a relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend Range 54 for anyone, new or old, beginner and or professional looking to spend time at a professional indoor gun range. Please keep up the good work! read more

Service was disrespectful and condescending. Selection/options not good imo. Nice size and clean appearance for most part but limited. Value ok but higher than most other places around. They let some people do things and dont let others. Regular customers vs strangers idk? When you want something either ignored or not around. When around, trying tonpoint out anything they can that violates something or trying to show you how to do something unsolicited. So my main issue is the service and employees. I went to Range 54 for the first time a week ago to practice shooting with family. We completed our paperwork and were assigned a lane quite quickly. There are 3 bays with 8 lanes each. The bays are clean and swept frequently of shell casings. The range staff is polite and insured people are using eye and ear protection. The shop has a large selection of weapons and products along with knowledgeable staff to answer all your questions. I went again this past weekend for the Women's Basic Pistol class. This 8 hour class was very informative! We spent the first half of the class learning how to safely handle a handgun, about storage options, how to identify and clear malfunctions, and more. The second half was spent on the range practicing using the sights properly, using the trigger reset and learning to clean a gun properly. I left this class feeling more comfortable handling and using a handgun. The instructors were knowledgeable, friendly and patient and insured all students felt comfortable throughout. I would definitely recommend visiting Range 54! read more

Took the Introduction to Pistols with Brooke & Christina. Our class was mixed with first time shooters and people who have shot before, but wanted more knowledge. It's about 2 hours of classroom time and the other 2 hours are in the range. I personally have shot guns before, but it does give me anxiety and stresses me out - hence I wanted to get more familiar so this doesn't happen. Brooke was so patient and calming, continued to make sure I knew that I didn't have to if I didn't want to - but I did. So she took the time, to make sure I felt as comfortable as I could. Gave me pointers on how to become a better shot. The class is late, so bring a snack and some coffee possibly. They hold a range (no pun intended) of classes. I do plan on coming in at least once a month to continue to work with their staff to become more comfortable. You can rent a lane & try out different guns to see what you like best. Which is super nice because guns aren't cheap! They are all so welcoming and encouraging when asking for guidance. The staff takes the time to make sure your needs are met. read more

This range is excellent. I've been to a lot of gun ranges, but this by far is my favorite. Whenever I come into town I make sure to make a special trip here. The range is awesome and so are the staff! The only thing I would change is that high powered rifles, shotguns, and full automatics are on a separate range than the handguns. It makes it very hard to shoot a handgun when you get an AR-15 firing right next to you. The facility is all new and a lot cheaper another gun ranges. They also have a great selection of apparel and Rental guns. read more

Attended the pistol 101 class. Excellent class to attend especially for those with little to no experience with pistols. Good job Stuart providing guidance and experience in class and in the firing bay. I believe the other instructor was Geno. Appreciate all the great advice from both. Only thing I would consider adding to the class is maybe ten minutes on which cleaning solvents and brushes to use when cleaning your pistol. We'll done Range54. read more

Range 54 is an awesome, state of the art shooting range. They have a fantastic facility and wonderful people running it. The target retrieval system has pre-set programs that make training interesting. The membership is a bargain, if you shoot more than once a month. I am often times at the range more than once a week. In addition to the range, which they have a huge selection of rental guns for, they have a very nice retail area with tons of guns for sale. read more

I went in to ask a few questions about buying a firearm being active duty. I talked to an employee at the sales counter towards the back of the store asking about 9mm double stacked carry sized handguns. He was super helpful and even helped me with a few suggestions. He walked me to the range counter and pointed out a few different pistols to try and I was able to find one that I liked and they had in stock. The range in general was great. Well kept and well organized. I loved the on range personnel. He was helpful and actually seemed to care whether or not we were having a good experience. I was truly disappointed with the desk staff. I came in for the first time hoping to rent a few 9 mm and decide what I felt most comfortable using. I just felt as if the staff could care less what I was feeling and just wanted me to make a decision and get the hell away from there. I tried to explain what I liked and what I didn't and was hoping for some recommendation and the staff just seemed to not give any feedback or care what I had to say. I was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps so I have been pistol qualed.. I just wanted some sort of guidance on 9 mm other than the Beretta. I'm just disappointed in that experience. My review is of the staff and not necessarily the establishment. Although I would say the facilities are top notch. I frequented this range and would always take my NFA items to have some close-to-home range time. One instance I went and heard another patron ask if they could take their bump-fire stock into the range for rapid-fire. An AR-15 style sporting rifle. The staff was taken aback by the question and forwarded the question to the owner which said yes. Later on, (maybe a few months later), I was using my Maxim 9 because it was pending BATFE approval and had the cardboard target 5 yards from me while practicing with some fast follow-up shots. I get a tap on the shoulder by the closing shift RO saying I cannot do that. All the while the RO previous to him was standing against the wall behind me and watching. My complaint is not the service nor the facilities but rather the enforcement of rules being not uniform across the board. From owner, to range officer, to counter clerks. Nobody knew how to answer questions to what was allowed or did not enforce them the same across the board. This sort of thing puts a harsh damper on your range fun. On top of that, one of the RO's recommended I participate in their IDPA competitions. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH MY SKILL LEVEL IF I'M TOLD TO TONE IT DOWN? I've done other competitions around Wichita and although I'm far from a professional, I feel my skill is adequate enough to tolerate something like a pistol mag-dump at 5 yards versus an AR-15 bumpfire mag-dump. My favorite lunch time destination. State of the art, high tech target system that can be set to randomly turn, run to or away from you, and have lights that turn off and on to add some reality to your target shooting. Don't have a gun? They have a wide variety of guns for sale or even to rent if you want to try something new or just change it up. Everyone there is very friendly, helpful, and act like they are genuinely glad you are there. Right by the freeway so it's very easy to get there from anywhere in town and the surrounding area. Registered for a basic handgun safety course. Have shot a handgun once before without instructions. Going through the course with instructor Tom was what I was needing to fully understand the fundamentals of a handgun. Training and target practice was very helpful and insightful. First time going to range 54, only the 3rd time at a range in general. I've NEVER felt more comfortable. Stuart is by far the best employee they have. Between taking videos on his own phone so he can show you what you need to improve on for a better shot, and his encouraging attitude..I'm more than impressed. I went to the establishment on a Saturday to check-out their selection of revolvers. The place was bustling with activity. I walked around to familiarize myself with the lay-out. and noticed that they had zero revolvers displayed. I stood around at the counter waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I noticed that the staff was more interested in jawing with their buddies. After about 20 mins. Someone behind the counter paused his conversation with a non-customer to ask if he could help me. I asked if they sold any revolvers, and it was as if I suddenly had leprously. I was told that revolvers sit on the shelves, without being sold, so they don't stock them. He mentioned that they could order one, and turned away from me to continue his conversation with his buddy. This is the 2nd time I was brushed off by a gun-shot employee. I went to a little place called P4 Firearms, and purchased a gun that they actually had in stock. I do not plan on ever setting foot into Range 54 again. read more

Have gone here several times with a friend. The range is average, staff rather rude and they provide poor customer service, very limited inventory. The first time I checked out a rental gun that had been checked for bullets in chamber and magazine removed, I apparently picked up the gun incorrectly & immediately it was grabbed out of my hand & I was sternly scolded in front of the entire store. The person could have just explained the proper way to hold the gun. Another time I was asking my friend if it was okay if I reloaded the magazine over at the table when the range monitor came up and told me I could not. 15 mins later while I was standing at the table watching my friend shoot two guys came over to another table and began reloading their magazines. Things like these have happened every time we go here. Last week when staff again decided to make a scene loud enough for half the store to hear because I put the magazine into the gun before entering the range area, I had enough. I am buying a gun but won't be going here for classes, help regarding gun ownership or shooting practice. read more
