I live for the discovery of places like Randyland. I even post them weekly on my IG, @housesofhollywood - so I couldn't have been more thrilled to experience this place. Randy is the greatest guy - SO enthusiastic and SO creative, while being extremely kind and generous. His goal in life is to introduce as many people as possible to the wonders of refracted light and shadow and all the creative things that one can do with them. He loves meeting new people and showing them his extraordinary art, and shares generously all about how he goes about it, where he finds his materials, etc. He doesn't hold back. And he sends you away with little gifts in hand - magnets and postcards - wonderful souvenirs of the adventure. And Randy asks for nothing in return (though I hope everyone who goes there will a) do a review like this one and b) donate even a small amount - it's the least we can all do for the great pleasure of visiting him.). I thank Randy for his open-hearted spirit and the gift of his art. What an incredible way to spend an evening! DO NOT HESITATE!

Thank you Randy for your tour and beautiful artwork, It's a honor to meet the artist himself. I am glad we find this place.

Randyland is so delightful! We wanted something special to do for all ages, with my kids and my parents, so I contacted Randy through his Instagram account. He invited us for an evening tour that weekend. We met him outside and he was an enthusiastic, joyful guide, pointing out many details in his work and staging us all for portraits. I'm so glad we found this place!

Oh my. What an incredible privilege it was to spend more than an hour with Randy. He toured toured us through his spectacular art, helping us experience it fully. He is a brilliant, warm, beautiful human. Go see his work and spend some time with him!

In a word, PHENOMENAL. Randy loves meeting people from all over, and sharing his passion and artistic vision. What can I say about Randyland and his PhantasmaGloria Goddess Garden that hasn't already been said? I can tell you about our PERSONAL experience. I expected to see a really cool sculpture garden. We got that and SO much more. I came away with a fired imagination and a LOT of heavy concepts to ponder. My son also enjoyed it, in a completely different way than I did. Your Randyland experience will be as unique and individual as you are. Make your appointment with Randy on Instagram. Just walking by it will not do it justice. You have to see it up close and personal, and get the lowdown from Randy himself. We were only in Los Angeles for three days, and this was definitely time well spent. My son and I are still talking about it a week later.

Have you ever heard of @randylandla ? If not, let me introduce you to an art installation that's built outside the home of local artist-Randy Lawrence. His wonderful work of art is made using colored glass bottles filled with water to refract the light. Held together with wire and mesh, he's arranged them in a way that works with the sun to create dynamics of shadow and light. What's most beautiful is that what you see is entirely dependent upon where you stand, the sky, and the time of day. The art itself and its surroundings play off of each-other to create endless opportunities of creative expression. Like I mentioned in my post beforehand, Randy is SO kind and passionate about his work. He even gave out free magnets and little glass marbles! The whole experience truly touched me. Thank you for all you do Randy!

I found out about Randyland from Instagram and finally had a chance to see it in person and let me tell you it blows my mind. Booking a tour is easy, you can message Randy through IG randylandla and he respond very quickly, he recommended you come 2 hours before sunset to see the best of the lighting and boy he was right, it was an unforgettable experience. Prepare to spend an hour for the tour since he explains for you his amazing art works, he's also gave out postcards and magnets for free, the tour is free but I suggest you donate for the artist to appreciate his time open his door to show his incredible artwork, he use donations to buy material for the new artwork. Parking was easy to find around his neighborhood, Randy is a super nice man and guarantee you'll have a great time!

Although the glass, statues, and other artworks are wonderful, Randy is the real attraction. Getting a peak inside how he sees the world is worth the trip here. (Emphasis on the word trip)

After stumbling upon Randyland through a TikTok, my friend and I decided to check it out since we were in the Echo Park area. We didn't realize that you were supposed to make an appointment to see the installation (Randy recommends calling by phone, or you can reach out via social media), but we were lucky enough to catch Randy working on his piece out at the front when we arrived. He said hello from above and happily welcomed us in! He began the tour by taking us across the street and viewing the cutouts that hang by his stairs. They cast a cool shadow against the wall, and he began explaining how what you see changes based on time of day. He then took us up to his front lawn, where the glass sculpture was, and he explained a lot of the science behind what we were seeing through the glass. He was extremely passionate about the possibilities of refracted light and pointed to various examples across the installation. He even showed us various photos of different perspectives of the installation over time. The experience was interactive as Randy even gave us cutouts to play with and cast shadows upon his installation. He even offered to take photos for me and my friend with different uses of the cutouts! Overall, this was such a special experience and I'm so happy we got to meet Randy and see his art. He works on this installation as a hobby and has a plan to make another installation somewhere else in LA-- location currently TBD as he seeks out a proper place for it. The tour is free but he accepts donations on Venmo, which go toward the materials he buys for his art. He has such a huge passion for this and is truly such a kind soul that anyone would be lucky to meet. I highly recommend checking his installation out if you're looking to see some cool local art in LA! I hope to go back and visit, and he promised that the next time I come, it will look different. Randyland will not disappoint you!!

Nice guy, I got to meet Randy the artist of this amazing beauty.

This was an Interesting Yelp find, while sightseeing in LA. We arrived via a very narrow street and at the end of it we found Randy and his beautiful and creative masterpiece. I recommend that you contact him, prior to visiting; due to there are certain times that the sun reflects on the glass, bringing to life a spectacular show. Look for Randy, he is an amazing host and probably one of the nicest guys that you will ever meet.

This is a hidden LA treasure we found on TikTok. Artist, Randy, has created a unique and delighted sculpture in his front yard! A beautiful creation with glass that changes as the sun moves through the sky! His passion is as big as his exhibit. We loved his tour of his creation and got to play with the light with his guidance. It was a treat to drive my guy (named Randy) through the narrow streets of Silver Lake to discover (and surprise him) with this magical place! Call ahead! You must see it from the front porch of his home not just drive by it on the street! THANK YOU RANDY! We loved it!

This place was AMAZING! The artist, Randle Lawrence, is wonderfully talented, creative, informative, and enthusiastic about his work. The play of light through the various arrangements is fascinating and ever-changing. This experience is not to be missed. Pick a sunny day and prepare to be enthralled.

"Every Empty Bottle Is Filled With A Great Story." Meeting Randy @randylandla was an honor! He is a very sweet person and is extremely knowledgeable/passionate at what he does. If you schedule an appointment, Randy will be honored to give you a tour himself and explain his artwork. It truely is incredible to see and hear the concept of how the direction of the sun, some water, and a concave/convex glass bottle can merely affect the way his masterpieces shine throughout different angles of the day. Such an interesting idea perfectly executed with his art - Randy is hands-down an artist!! (**Fun Fact: LA's official name is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula" or better known as "The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels of Porciúncula" in English.)

The Chinatown Arts District is easy to get to. It is right across the street from the Chinatown Central Plaza. You know, "Chinatown." :-) Parking in the Chinatown area of L.A. has always been a bit of a problem. This is especially the case at peak hours. Plus, the traffic can be a mess. In term of finding a parking spot there are few lots around the area but they can really be a mess to get in and/or out of. Your best bet is to grab a meter parking spot on the street. That is, if you can find one. In terms of the Chinatown Arts District I suggest looking along Hill St. or Broadway. If you don't find one right away look to the side streets. Again, parking can be a problem here. So, good luck. But, it is worth the adventure to check out the galleries and the artists of this newly redeveloped section of Chinatown. Highly Recommended !!!
