The day Joe came, the weather was terrible so traffic was bad, but he called to let me know he was running a little late - I think he still got to my place within about 10 minutes of our original appointment time. It was seriously not that much time, but I really appreciated that he let me know. He identified the problem and got it taken care of quickly. Since I had him out for a service call, I asked for an estimate on putting in some lighting that I'd been considering and he was happy to to it - I got the estimate the next day and it was very much in line with the costs I'd heard from others. I haven't moved forward with the work yet (so many home improvement projects, so little budget!) but when I do, I'll be calling JF Industries again.

We ultimately went with Clar Electric out of 3 well reviewed electricians even though they weren't the cheapest because of their great reviews, but also because Jamie communicated with us so well in emails. It's hard to explain, but he seemed trustworthy and a person of integrity :) From the beginning to the very end, even during the holiday season, Clar Electric was awesome. And their electricians, Phil and Dan were so great at communicating, really friendly and kind. Literally minutes later, it was done. We were so impressed we actually had Luis put an outlet in a closet the same day. Quick, efficient, and great guys. Family run and they really make you feel like you are part of their family. To Note: the work was done a year ago and we have had zero issue with either outlet.

So I settled for a decent one in Logan Square but the electricity was. . . let's just say it had a personality of its own. It varied from having exposed wirings, turning on and off when my roommate ran on the treadmill, having one super outlet with like 10 outlets in one room, sometimes working in the bathroom (on a good day), it was horrible. In comes Hugo Electric to the rescue, thank God. They're a family-owned business, Poppa Bear and his two sons, literally. They also came punctually and saw the status of the apartment and were very observant and detailed about what would entail in this project of revamping the place. They were very easy going and down to earth people, trying to help you out, not rip you off like other companies I've experienced. They were contracted, alas, and lasted two days upgrading the electrical wiring for the whole apartment, installing new switches and outlets so two roommates can use their outlets at the same time! Imagine that. All that for about $900, including labor, material, and all that special stuff that includes ending your headaches and frustrations trying to plug in you straightener and curling iron at the same time. They were very clean and thorough, and really made an impression on my beloved haven of a home. I would definitely use them again and recommend so to my friends and family!
