Very nice mechanics! Carlo is awesome! For a 20 year old, it's in the pricer side, but quick service!

What a truly refreshing experience - if every business/person showed as much kindness, efficiency,…read moreand accuracy, as well as Value, as Nolan's offered me the world would be a much better place. I called Nolan's when my car was in desperate need of attention as the check engine light lit up when I was on my way to work just 16 hours after getting it back from being serviced at the Honda dealership. The gentleman that answered my call informed me that he was slammed and the only one there due to others being on previously scheduled (& well deserved!) vacation. I could tell he was absolutely swamped but probably heard the desperation in my voice. I was told to bring it in & he would find time for it. He looked at it the same day, let me know it was a transmission issue & would work on it - this was a Thursday. By Saturday at 3PM, I was back in my car with the transmission issue fixed and check engine light off - all for a very reasonable price, especially given the dire situation I found myself in. However, what stood out for me was not just the value and efficiency - it was the kindness and compassion. I would and do recommend Nolan's to everyone I meet - they're the best!

I desperately needed a good mechanic after being screwed by a factory defective clutch in a brand…read morenew Hyundai that a local dealer shafted me on over a number of years. It was replaced but they put me off, never did the flywheel, never listened to my transmission concerns. Had a clutch replaced at apox 33K miles, 42K miles..........and now here I am with 64K miles and I needed a new clutch, throw out bearing, flywheel and a whole f******* new transmission. Granted my car just turned 10 years old, but I've only put on 64K miles on it, I do not drive stick like an a-hole and ride my clutch. I should have never let the dealer jerk me around this long, but when we bought the new car we were young and just married, and we thought it had a great warranty....I had no idea how screwed I'd be wit this "brand new" crap car and they're so-called "warranty" after they admitted to "defects". When my tranny crapped out a few weeks ago I called my Dad who recommended John Denny. Somehow my Dad knew him, or knew of him, for many years. My dad said, and I quote, "The guy is good and he knows it!" .....well I think he was trying to imply I might have sticker shock at the price of an estimate....apparently my Dad's never paid a bill at a dealer service department because Denny's price was exactly what I expected. Not back alley cheap, but extremely fair for the job. Honestly I can say his price was cheaper than I expected after talking to previous customers who said they loved him and how awesome he was. John Denny was very honest about every aspect of my work. He couldn't find a used transmission he felt comfortable putting in. I have a vintage car and I do much of my own work on it . So while my daily driver is nothing like my vintage, and I had never worked on new cars, I was still comfortable finding myself a transmission. I understood the reputation my particular car had, plus he's a busy guy, plus I could save myself money running down my own parts. We worked out a good deal. My car finally drives well (first time in 5 years?) , and the price was exactly what I was quoted, and it was done exactly when he said it would be done. They unloaded the parts I brought, and reloaded my core tranny when I was done (because I have to turn that into the place I brought my tranny from). When I went in to pay they gave me a small list of issues they saw that would keep me from passing inspection (bad tie rod, etc - problems I very much expected) there was NO PRESSURE to have them done. Needles to say it was a great experience! I felt there was great open communication, everyone was upfront about everything, and my car runs like it should! If you are looking for an HONEST mechanic and want to pay to have it done right the first time.....you should give them a call.

I took my car in for a pre-inspection in July, admittedly a little early, because I was trying to…read morebe prepared while switching everything over from another state, including getting my car registered and inspected. The staff was very friendly at first, and I specifically brought my car in for a pre-inspection so I would know exactly what needed to be addressed before the actual inspection. I was given a list of items that needed to be fixed, including the windshield wipers. I took care of everything on that list, and when I went back for the inspection, I was called and told that the car would pass -- except that I now needed a new driver's-side windshield wiper and an entirely new windshield. I was honestly speechless. I had paid them specifically for a pre-inspection and followed the information they gave me so I could avoid this exact situation. The pre-inspection itself only cost $15, but the principle of the situation was much bigger than the cost. When I started asking questions, the woman at the counter became very defensive. I eventually asked if I could receive a refund for the $15 since the information I had been given during the pre-inspection was inaccurate. She immediately started yelling at me and said, "If you went to the doctor and they misdiagnosed you, would you ask them for a refund?" My response was simply, "You're not a doctor." If they had simply acknowledged the mistake, refunded the $15, and handled the situation professionally, I would have been more than willing to move past it and continue giving them my business. Instead, the way the situation was handled left me feeling completely dismissed and disappointed. What made the situation even more frustrating was that after my phone conversation with the woman at the counter, her husband -- I assume -- called my boyfriend's parents to discuss the situation. I am a grown adult, and my name and phone number were both provided on my paperwork. I found it extremely inappropriate that they chose to contact someone else about an issue involving me as a customer. When I eventually went into the shop, I waited while they were helping another customer. While I was waiting, I overheard them discussing that they don't really care about inspecting the rear windshield wiper. That was particularly frustrating because my boyfriend had previously been told that he needed to replace his rear windshield wiper in order to pass inspection. I had also just heard them tell another customer that the rear wiper wasn't required and that they don't check it. I did ultimately pay for my service, and I apologized for becoming frustrated because I understand that everyone has bad days. I also explained that, for me, this was about the principle of how the situation was handled. Unfortunately, this also wasn't the first time I've heard of similar situations involving people I know or am affiliated with. I don't expect a business to be perfect, but I do expect accurate information, consistency, and basic customer service when something goes wrong. A simple acknowledgment of the mistake and a little professionalism would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this business to others.

Was quoted for 2 hours of work replacing lower control arms and without warning was charged for 3,…read morejustification was the book said it takes 8 hours because Toyota says to remove engine, true, but you can just lift the engine up a bit to get at the bolt that Toyota says requires the removal. I was charged for 3 at the last minute, no warning. Requested replacement of door hinges and it wasn't done. Scheduled a week in advance and left vehicle overnight and still had to wait after hours to 5:30 for vehicle. Was told at that time that my driver's side passenger tire was making a grinding noise and is likely a bearing or axel issue and my lower motor mounts were shot. I didn't think of asking for another appointment at that time (nor was I offered), I wanted to get home, and no follow up appointment was offered, and I was not shown the used part. I was aware of the grinding and figured it was something with the lower control arms. So, after he told me this, I went over to Erie County Farms parking lot and indeed they were grinding, so bad at this point that I drove her home and parked her. I called up Independent Muffler and explained the situation. I told Dave what happened, how I was not kept informed of what was going on (just had to show up), the last-minute price change, the requested work not being done and nothing done about the grinding (follow up appointment or just being done that day). Dave explained to me that the book says 8 hours (Toyota wants the engine removed) and that he doesn't know why the previous tech quoted me at 2. He used the book time of 8 to justify adding another hour and they were on it all day. Okay, I call BS, I have replaced these before and it doesn't require you to remove the engine, you just lift the motor enough to remove the mount and get at the bolt. With air tools, a lift and the right tools you can get this done in 2 hours. Seriously look up lower control arm/ball joint replacement for a 2006 Camry, it can be done, a TON of people on YouTube and Reddit have. I understood him to say this whole job took 8 hours and 3 was fair. If it did take 8 hours, did you remove the engine? If so, why? Honor your original estimate, 5 sec it took for the tech to be like "oh, I am adding 100+ dollars to your bill at the last second!" Unacceptable! Keep the customer informed of what you are doing and if you cannot do the agreed upon work then tell me! I didn't raise a stink at that time because I figured the extra hour was for the door hinges and the tech misspoke, I am too trusting of people. Why didn't I look at the bill? I trusted them, I have had good work done in the past and they have taken care of me, and they fumbled the ball hard this time. When I called and informed them of this, there was no reason given for why the door wasn't fixed. There was no attempt to make anything right, like "hey bring in your car we will look at the wheel bearing and knock off half the labor rate for not doing your door hinges the first time." He did offer to get me in today, but I am unable to due to obligations and that is the reason why they get 2 stars. We work hard for our money and tacking on an extra +$100 at the end, without warning is slimy. Not telling the customer what is going on with the work, not showing them the part (in fairness I did not ask, again because I trusted them, though it should be a standard operating procedure), not doing the work and sending them off without an immediate follow up to a known issue (grinding), had they started the vehicle (which I left overnight) 1st thing, we could have had that wheel bearing fixed, same day and had my door hinges in. I am glad this happened though, if I had a larger job and they put down 4 hours of labor then added 8, 10, or 12? Glad it was just 1 with no door work being done and them not touching my wheel bearing issue. This experience has been a lesson for me on how they run business. I gave them the opportunity to make it right and they did not. I will not give them the opportunity to do that again and will be taking my business elsewhere. PS: The woman they have working the counter is very nice!
