And I do mean everything. Personal hygiene, baby products, toys, craft, bags and ribbons, crockery, home décor, manchester, dog toys, mostly clumped in sections of similar products. The madness and busyness of this store is endearing, and their prices are all very cheap (though you're getting what you pay for - none of it is high quality). They also have many electrical products, headphones, chargers, and cords of all varieties. A whole family runs the store, parents and their son, and are very friendly and helpful when it comes to finding things. This is a very useful place to know about for all those random household things you don't know you need until they break, or until you see them in here for only $3. They also offer 10% discounts to builders and from Monday-Wednesday they give 10% to pensioners who purchase something over $10. An all-round good local bargain hardware store.

Gardening is my secret passion and Mile End has a brilliant range of plants and very competitive prices. But best of all they actually have people working for them that appear to enjoy their jobs!! I have been approached on numerous occasions by staff members answering my silent "damsel in distress" attempts to get pots off shelves, pick up heavy bags of potting mix or whatever strenuous tasks these guys make look easy. They will even carry stuff to your car if you need them too! OMG customer service circa 1970! Plus you can return anything even a pathetic dead (formerly living) plant purchased 11 months and 29 days previously if you have a receipt - absolutely exceptional!!!! Add to that the extremely knowledgeable hardware and gardening gurus who are willing to offer unsolicited advice on just about anything home handy person related and it's a match made in heaven!! True story - a friend arrived home at 4.00pm after a Sunday afternoon's shopping to find her partner had decided he had the skills to replace their 1950's toilet. He didn't and hadn't bought a new one. After 2 days without a toilet and no sign that he was going to admit that he was an idiot (surprise surprise) my friend went to Bunnings (Mile End) and got coached in how to do the job herself and supplied with everything she needed to do it! Your pen and notebook combo can make you look like you truly care about where you write your no doubt 'insightful' thoughts and memos. But really. This is what happens when the worship of materialism infiltrates the middle-class working world. Chuck a bow on a soft pink pen, put it in a shop, and make millions. Seriously, just buy a pack of handy-dandy BIC pens and be done with it. Or at the very least head over to Officeworks, buy a decent, efficient biro that is worth the ridiculous dollars you pay for it.

My annual diary that I buy every New Years from this store is filled up with different colour pens and highlighters. Oh yea, by the way, Kikki.K sells different nice pens too...ooh, you nearly made me grab one! ;) I better purchase this new diary, before I grab anything else. It has a decent range of supplies and offers a wide range of services, however I still feel as though Bunnings offers both more range and bang for your buck. The store is set out neatly with aisles that have different products to suit your home project needs, however getting staff advice can be occasionally difficult. The last time I went though, the staff seemed more friendly and polite than usual with quite large smiles on their faces. Gas bottle refills for $20 are probably the main reason why I come here as I do like doing a bit of barbecuing. The gardening section is also rather nice, however I still like Bunnings more for some of the quality of the plants and flowers. Screws and bolts are well priced here with a decent range too and if I ever need timber or wood, I would definitely consider coming here. Overall, a decent hardware store. Depends really on what you want as to whether this is the right store for you however for me, Bunnings is probably a better choice for most home projects.

Each of these stores don't have everything under the same roof as one may specialise in a certain area. For instance BBQ's may the focus besides all the regular hardware requirements people need and want, another is all about painting and interior colour schemes and so on. This particular hardware store has alot of outdoor gardening and power tool focus for the home handyman or handywoman, and let me tell you I love to wield my power tools about the house! Their prices are reasonable and there is a large variety of items for your perusal and purchase.

Aside from that, the showroom is tidy and well maintained with that comforting layer of hardware store dust over slow moving products.

A lot to choose from here, that I am literally afraid of running into one of the guitarists from Red Hot Chilli Peppers, or Andre 3000 from Outkast, or Afroman, or Bigfoot, with their long hair and body fur, and waving it around on my face. Lucky I didn't bump into Bigfoot. Instead, it's more like meeting the Bill Gates of the latest technology in razors, who made me drop my jaws in awe at how much he clearly knows every little detail of the latest and best shavers here. Not only that, he was so quick in serving the two male customers already here before me, that it wasn't long before he approached me. You're the man. You win. But please don't make me regret spending $600 on you. Don't worry, there's more affordable shavers here for everyone, men and women.

It doesn't take long to look all hairy and unkempt, and it can get quite itchy and take you right off the smooch list because who wants to rub their lips against a cactus? Then again there is a very sophisticated value added if you have facial hair that is well groomed. Even if you don't do the full face scrape every day you still need shaving implements to keep yourself looking tidy, so every man has a relationship with some source of face scraping. I myself go directly to the specialists because you only have one face and before you know it, that very same face is looking like a disaster zone every morning, so you may as well have good advice to keep it safe and acceptable. The Shaver Shop attracted me because it was quite clear what they were on about - shavers. Yes, I am a genius aren't I?! They have a very good range of electric shavers and some blades - they can source what they don't stock and they give decent advice with reasonable warranties on the various shavers depending on what you are looking for. It isn't so simple to find something that suits your personal skin style without a little advice and there are some shavers that simply will rip your sensitive skin apart and render you quite the unattractive creature with scabs on your face. Yes, scabs on your face. Think about it - who wants to have scabs on their face? Certainly not I - so advice and support is the way I go, and that way generally leads me into the Shaver Shop - it is my dear friends as simple as that. They stock other personal hygiene things as well, mouth, face and hair is really the areas they watch out for; you can pick yourself up a toothbrush, a nose hair trimmer, a buzz thing for cutting your own hair... it's not a buzz saw... not a buzz cutter (?) but it makes a buzz noise and it's fun to mow off someones hair and make them look like a convict. Buzz clippers? I'll have to ask next time I'm in the store. I grow my hair, so that's why I'm coming up blank on that one. Men even shave their pubic hair these days evidently, so you can get a personal groomer that will whisk off those thick and curleys without stopping for a cough or a "thank you father for I have sinned" along the way... figure that quip out yourself. All I really know is that you'll have a smooth face if you get in and sort out something with these folk. There's usually a man and a woman on hand staff wise so you will not find yourself lining up for public humiliation.
