Accompanied my 82 year old mother to her appointment. They called the morning of her appointment…read moreto get her to come in 30 minutes earlier for another test. So we arrive early to fill out paperwork. They are all at lunch. They had sent an email to set up a patient portal. She didn't know that. Guess what, not all seniors are tech savvy and she would not have been able to do this herself anyway. Also, I had called the Friday before at 1:15 to find out if she needed to bring anything or fill out anything, but they leave early on Fridays, so filling it out in person is necessary. Then, they won't allow me to wear my face shield which I wear due to a heart condition. I cannot wear the face masks for more than 20 minutes without my heart racing and then passing out. So I have to sit in a hot car, or run the car and pollute the air with exhaust because their office policy is discriminatory to people with other health issues. The face masks they wear don't protect from Covid either. Says it right on the box. Since my mother suffers from some cognitive decline, I need to be in the office to hear what the doctor says. Not possible unless I jeopardize my own health (and not really protect anyone else's health since I'm not sick) and wear a stupid paper mask. Ifbyou can smell anything through a mask, it won't protect you. Odor molecules are larger than virus molecules and they sail right through these masks. They suggest him calling me in the car to tell me her results and information. Nice. I realize they are following an office policy determined by someone else, but I am over people not being able to think for themselves, or thinking one size fits all. I am not usually this unpleasant to people or one to write bad reviews, but this is inexcusable. Not only did they call her Day of to come in early, but the test was an hour long and they only had her come in 30 minutes earlier. Her appointment time of 1pm was missed by 2 whole hours! He did not come in until 3pm!! They said I could come in with proof of a vaccine, which I have not been in any group that qualified for it yet. Also, my body my choice. And showing medical information like that is a violation of HIPAA too. So there it is, vaccine passports to discriminate in addition to other issues. Final note, despite saying he would do a speaker call with me, I had to call him. And he had not even reviewed her tests before she came in and he's had them for a week. Then he waited to call me back until my mom had left his office, which is not what I had requested. Found out that they never told her she would need this test when she made the original appointment. She was told it was to go over her MRI and CAT scans. I am told that the appointment was for the test at one and see him after. Not see him at 1pm. He said it must have been a slight miscommunication. Two and half hours (this includes me waiting to hear from him) is not a slight miscommunication. They really need to get their act together. will not be back if we don't need to go there.
