This is an ok hotel with overall nice staff, but it has important flaws: odor problems, not greatly…read morelocated, abusive checking-in practices and serious problems with the design of the rooms. I'll explain:
The location is not great. It is in front of the cargo harbor and the surroundings are dead. It is disconnected from the city and there is not even a cafe around. There are not Ubers coming here most of the time.
Believe it or not, the check in "starts" at 3 pm. I wrote them in advance requesting them to be sensitive to the fact that I was traveling transcontinentally, but, even though they confirmed that the hotel had available rooms when I arrived in the morning, there was no way for them to avoid making me wait untill late afternoon to get access to my room.: In a totally unusual manner, they start giving rooms almost at dinner time. Very insensitive, not-making-sense-at-all and unlike the way any serious hotel deals with check in time.
When I finally got my room, the bathroom had drainage issues and the whole room had an awful sewage smell, that did not go at any time during the two days I stayed there. Quite unpleasant.
On top of that, the room is poorly designed. The bathroom has no door, so that, if you share the room with someone else, one is waken up by the light of the bathroom being used by the other person, in the middle of the night (can you believe no one thought about something as basic as this during the design process?).
Overall: I would not recommend to use this hotel. This city has tons of good hotels, no need to come to the not-great one.
