20/1/15 - Great staff shame about the shower.......
This must be a very mistrusting place....... Iron attached to ironing board, makes it difficult to use the iron. I haven't been in any other hotel that does this.....
Free wifi included within my corporate rate, I had to ask.
Plus free gift of chocolate bar and water for Wyndham members, I had to ask....
22/7/14 - This is the last week that I am booked into the Ramada.....
They are doing a refurbishment, but only cosmetic. Not functional, and what I mean is that they will not be fixing one of their major problems, and that is the power of their showers. This OK, apparently, if you are on a lower floor, so this week they will put me on a lower floor. O Dear! Doesn't really resolve the underlying problem.
The Ramada, in Telford, is owned by the same people who own the Holiday Inn, and the International Hotel. The latter I wrote that although staff try very hard to please, they are let down by the poor standards of the hotel, and that includes aircon, and showers.
There seems a theme here.... That the owners can afford to paint the places, but not repair things.
Last night dined with a colleague, The Pork belly was sent back, and a frsh one had to be done for both of us, the one sent back was burnt. The chef appeared later..... Colleague explained that the second was better, but not perfect. The chef then said, "we have been having problems with suppliers". What? The meat was OK. The supplier did not cook the food.... LOL
I'm stuck with the problem that I don't rate the food at the Park Inn, and the Ramada is going the same way, and really don't want to be driving to another restaurant.
Someone has got to up their game.
Nearly took off a star.

Back again on the 1/7/14 - meal only..... Am I a glutton for punishment?
Met up with colleagues....
No starter. Main: Meat balls with spaghetti in a tomato sauce. How long does it take to cook spaghetti from fresh.... 11 minutes.....?
The food arrived quicker than my colleagues who were sitting down at their table and had ordered before me.... Clearly it had been put together and put in a microwave....£8.50 for this delight.... The spaghetti and the sauce was what you expect out of a can, and the meat balls where hard, but very hot!!!!
You know, sometimes, you cannot be bothered......
So knocking a star off... see below too....
My colleagues are staying here so it may be a return for the Wednesday carvery.... Otherwise it means traveling outside of Telford to find decent food. I've already stopped eating at the Park Inn due to an appalling meal several weeks ago.
What really makes me annoyed is the the restaurant serving staff are really great people.

Had another stay (24-26/6/14)
The accommodation was fine. The bathroom looks a bit dated, but functional.
Charming and fun staff in the restaurant.
On the Tuesday night I had the Creme Brulee..... O Dear..... The sugar wasn't caramelised on the top, it was more like a gritty syrup. Under was scrambled egg. I spoke with the chef, and they took it off the menu. They offered me another sweet or a free drink. I pointed out that that wasn't the reason for the complaint. If I don't complain they don't know.
On the Wednesday night, this time found bristles in my starter. Bits that you find on a pastry brush. Not best pleased.....
