Dr. Kline and Dr. Craigie performed (along with the equally stellar Oncologist Dr. Paul Baron) the skin sparing procedure with DIEP flap reconstruction - it is beyond amazing. The work they have done has brought tears to my eyes multiple times over the past weeks during recovery... I know the journey is not over yet and there will be at least one revision (this always depends on personal taste), but I'll be traveling back here to work with them throughout. I didn't catch the names but the staff at the front desk is incredibly welcoming, hospitable, and professional. Upon checking-in there's some paperwork but not that much to fill out. The office is tastefully decorated and the soap in the bathroom has a nice exfoliant to it! Didn't have to wait long at all, Anissa greeted me with a smile and asked some questions. She gave me options and felt the best would be a simple fill-in. She places some numbing cream to the area and you relax for 20 minutes. When it comes to color swatches, Anissa showed me 3 options where we decided on a shade that was most fitting. This microblade session felt more comfortable due to knowing how the sensation of the needle feels like - to me it's like a mechanical pencil being gently scraped in the brow area. The after-care is straightforward plus the kit she gives helps with the healing process so there's no scars, infection, and keep flaking to a minimal. The website is another good resource on what to expect and how to prepare, like pausing tretinoin treatment to not drinking alcohol the night before. Would recommend this office in a heartbeat. Instead, I was left with months of open wounds, pain, complications, and virtually no meaningful follow-up or concern from Dr. Schrimph. On my last in person visit, Dr. Schrimpf came into the office and did not even walk over to visibly look at my arms. Told me people with fair skin and light-colored eyes "tend to take longer to heal" however I have never experienced healing issues with other medical procedures. Despite contacting them repeatedly and returning for visits, the issues were brushed off, leaving me to deal with prolonged healing and avoidable suffering. I have photos showing my gaping wounds, inflammation, and areas that remained unhealed for months. And the end result? Sagging skin and highly visible scarring -- the exact opposite of what I was assured before surgery. I formally requested a full refund in writing, outlining the complications, lack of follow-up, and the unacceptable surgical results. That letter asked for a response within ten business days, and they didn't even bother to acknowledge it. No call, no email, no letter. Nothing. All I wanted was my money back. They show no regard for basic integrity. I entered this procedure with trust. I believed the expertise and assurances I was given. Instead, I was left physically and emotionally distressed with results that look worse than before, and I paid $9,550 for it. If you are considering a procedure at this clinic, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. My experience was preventable, mishandled, and deeply disappointing, and no patient deserves this. BTW.... Dr. Schrimpf has since left Sweetgrass and per their customer email, "no longer practicing in the Charleston area".

(Later in speaking with a lady at church who had seen him she said that he had told her that his plastic surgery practice is what he still does in order to fund his charitable work.) For me, he needed only a quick exam of the venous malformation (VM--congenital, and not cancerous or dangerous, he noted) but spent a lot of time explaining my three options including not doing anything. I will be going back to him after I make an appointment and have him do the injections. After all, that is my choice and my regular dermatologist referred me to Dr. Hochman.
