I do support my local area especially since it's close to home! I have ordered birthday cakes, teachers snacks and food for my support group over the years! Of course I go here on a regular basis for small items, hot line and smoked barbecue! During the hurricane and the flood, they were open to get a hot meal! They even have awesome King Cakes with different flavors! Their cakes such as berry chantilly and strawberry cake are also yummy too! Thursday and Friday special at the Deli is their 12 oz stake with two sides for $12.49. It was way over done and the toughest one I ever had. We ordered two therefore our dogs will have it to eat for a couple days. We will never order that again. I spent a total of $26.13 for our meals and it was a wast. Stopped in while looking for hot food during this hurricane disaster situation. What a treat! The hot bar food was going so quickly so I knew it had to be good! We got the smoked chicken and man! It was so good. Even my super picky kids loved it. Ralph's has a " mom and pops but better" feel to it. Smaller than some other grocery stores around but still has everything you need. I was pleasantly surprised with the neighborly atmosphere. It's a little out the way for me to visit but I will definitely return. read more

Since Ralph's is so close to my house, I frequent this shop often. This post will reflect my latest visit. I feel like Ralph's is coming up in the world of small grocers. They have remodeled and added to thee selection of artisan but butters, organic veggies, massive deli and make ahead sushi bar. Their meat selection is the best around! However, I am not a fan of their fruits- they are always expensive and never quite ripe. Glenda, one of the cashiers is so super sweet. She is a little slow but all my groceries are bagged properly. I do not like to go at night or on the weekends because all the high school kids are typically rude and unfriendly. They have the cutest little selection of hair bows, tutus, and Halloween costumes. Lack of fourth star is due to the fruit selection. Every Apple was bruised and unappetizing. read more

Oh my! I am working in this store this week and have eaten from the food bar every day and everything is phenomenal! The associates here are all very gracious and accommodating. I would recommend this store not only for the food bar but the quality of the products they have to offer. If I lived here I would rarely visit a "big box" store. My wife and I were at the Home Show/Food Fest last weekend (Jan. 28 & 29, 2017) at Lamar-Dixon and tasted the Crawfish Boil Soup, loved it! So, Super Bowl Sunday comes along, don't care about the teams nor the game for that matter, decided to go to Ralph's in Gonzales to get some for my sibs' tailgate party, even though we live north of Denham Springs which is about a 45 minute drive to this Ralph's. Talked to Patrick and they didn't have any. He offered us a deep-fried BBQ rib while they called the other store. OH MY GOSH!! That was so good. Then he offered a soft drink. They finally found out that the other Ralph's had some. Wound up getting 3 large and 2 small containers of the soup. Our folks will love it. Thank you, Patrick for your awesome customer service. Grew up down the street from Ralphs. Used to go every Sunday morning after church for breakfast. Now you couldn't pay me to walk in there. Deli dept is MISERABLE. When they used to serve breakfast those people hated their lives. Frequently ignore you if you aren't their "regulars". Let anyone and everyone sell stuff right outside their door so you are barricaded when you leave. Cashiers, managers are all rude. Food is terrible.. breakfast is burnt. A great small grocery store with a good selection of groceries, especially the specialty and meat departments. You will find that they are a bit more expensive than the big box retailers on a good many items but comparable to other smaller privately owned grocery stores in the area. I think what sets Ralph's apart is their meat selection though. Tonight's selection was pre-made hamburger patties, which grilled up deliciously by the way if you were curious, and brought some kabobs home for tomorrow night's dinner along with some fresh corn still in the husk....perfect to throw on the grill or I have found baking in the oven is even better! This is my go-to store for dinner to cook that night on the way home because it is convenient to my house and they always have a good selection of what I am looking for to eat for dinner that night. read more

I've only been here a couple times, but my friend that lives nearby likes them. Ran in for a couple sixers of Abita and they had all the seasonal flavors (strawberry at time of review). I thought the price was a little high, but I guess they had to pay all 7 people waiting to help customers at 3pm on a Saturday...(hint: I was the only one in there) It didn't seem as nice as other Ralph's that I've been to, so no more stars b/c I know what they're capable of. read more

To start, this is a smaller store that has crammed waaay to much stuff in an attempt to keep up with bigger area stores so it is frustrating to maneuver. We've come here almost every Sunday for years and have watched it's decline in addition to it's price hikes. I brought my grandson in today at about 10min to 11 to get he and I a piece of pizza; you wait to be served the pizza. I almost turned around when the unpleasant smell hit when we entered but I kept on anyway. We stopped behind another lady who seemed as though she'd been waiting for a worker but eventually just served herself and left. We stood there a minute and a worker came our way but then passed us, stood just off to the side, and started working on another uncooked pizza without even acknowledging we were in front of her. I was going to ask her if she was not the person who could hand us a piece of pizza when she swatted at a fly with the ladle she was spreading sauce with. The all around attitude of the people throughout the store has been borderline rude but the combination of everything was just too much. read more

This was my go to grocery store for the majority of my shopping just because I do not enjoy big grocery stores and I love patronizing local businesses. The service has always been wanting and not friendly at all. I've never been greeted with even a hello. If you need to find something, you have to ask a manager-if you can find one. Once the remodeling began they decided to continue to do business as usual while having the floor exposed to dirt and covered only with a piece of plywood to walk between the holes. The food was covered in soil as they made no effort in covering the food products. I was thoroughly disgusted and vowed I would not be back. My father actually fell on one if his visits due to the plywood and unevenness of the flooring. I will not spend my money at a business if they have no respect for their paying customers and place them in danger so they can collect the almighty dollar. read more

This place is alright. Prices are ok. Parking lot is a mess. Cashiers are friendly. I come here when I just need one or two things. Only reason I don't shop here on a regular basis is....well just don't. I can drive 2 miles extra to Leblancs where the store is newer, cleaner, staff look happy and always ask if you need help, they serve food samples, parking lot is clean. I shop in Ralph's a couple of times a year and had to share my experience today. Shopped the ad that started today and there were only two packages available of two different types of steak to choose from which I thought odd as the ad JUST STARTED. I couldn't buy ground meat due to it being BROWN (six packages were like this). Gross. Grapes advertised were rotten. Then I get to the checkout. The cashier's name was Tony. He was too busy talking to his cousin and playing on his cell phone than to greet me or ring up my order. When his cousin left, he told me there are "issues" in his family as he again checked his phone. I got serenaded "Old Town Road" at least ten times and had to re-bag half of my order as he said he "always" puts two gallons of milk in the same plastic bag. Will gladly to Pelican Point if I ever shop at Ralph's again. I'm still shaking my head at this experience. read more

I have to say I am very disappointed in the way management has decided to change the way they price for the Deli at Ralphs. I've been told that it's because other stores in the area are moving their prices up and they want to keep up with that. I can understand moving your prices up, but to serve the same food and now charge $6.99 a pound is pretty outrageous. What has made me actually leave a review is that I went in for breakfast this morning because it is still comparatively lower priced and more convenient and better tasting than McDonald's, BUT I was charged $0.39 for A SINGLE SLICE of VERY THIN bacon!! I cannot believe that one slice of bacon is priced at $0.39! I love the remodel and I understand that money for that remodel has to come from somewhere, but padding your pockets by stealing from your long-time, loyal customers is a shame. I grew up with Ralph's right down the road, I've seen the company grow and expand, and I even use Ralph's as a landmark to give directions to my house, but I will never eat at this deli again. I'm very tempted to just go the extra mile for my milk and groceries and go to another store rather than my neighborhood Ralph's from now on. read more

I moved away from Ascension Parish for 8 years and moved back 2 months ago. I was excited to be close to Ralph's again as it was my breakfast stop and where I bought all my meat. I have always known they were pricey but the quality and fact that it is a local business made it worth it. I have been VERY disappointed thus far. I bought some of the fresh squeezed orange juice from the machine in the deli. I bring it home and my fiancé finds HUNDREDS of LOVE bugs in it. He brought it back and they not only refunded us but I have yet to see the machine back in the store. The situation was handled well but never should have happened. Now, the bad stuff. The hot deli food never looks fresh, is usually half empty, small selection, twice we have been very sick from the pastalaya, and they no longer make their delicious hashbrowns in the morning. Their breakfast went from the best around to a bunch of heat and eat frozen foods. The deli/pizza bar workers avoid eye contact so they can gossip and do anything except work. Everyone from cashiers to stockers to meat dept workers are constantly on their phone texting/social media, etc. LeBlanc's has won my business. read more

I live right down the street from Ralph's and anyone who lives in the Gonzales/Prairieville area knows that Ralph's is a store you go to pick up a few items on your way home when you don't feel like being bothered with large crowds. They are more expensive than Walmart, Leblanc's but you can't beat their quality of cut meat and convenience. read more
