Pros: Caring and Patient Cons: 2 hours for an annual physical exam! Exam 20 minutes, waiting 100 minutes during the examination as he went to look at other patients. * Wrong Lab Test Ordered as part of annual physical. Ordered a test that's typically only done in infants below 3yr. * Stuck with a 95$ bill because this test is not covered under annual physical for an adult. I might sound like I am venting but there are things fundamentally wrong here. read more

They took him back right away and saw drs and nurses within 10 minutes. Got pain meds and an iv right away and got straight to work with scans and ekg and testing. I want to special shoutout Isac, he was so personable and my dad truly appreciated his kindness in his time of need. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the front desk ladies were not kind at all, which is unfortunate because in times of emergency and medical issues you'd expect kindness, if that's not in you nature, don't make someone bad time worse. When you want to see a doctor for something that doesn't reach the threshold for the Emergency Room…read morebut can't wait for two or three weeks to see your regular doctor, Henry Ford Hospital Systems offers walk-in clinics. They are spread around the metro area so you shouldn't have to go too far. We have used this location a few times in the past but it has been a while. There is no appointment needed but they also include the ability to sign up online to hold your place in the walk-in line. It also shows you how long the estimated wait time is. When you arrive you need to sign in at the counter or by using the kiosk nearby. Then you have a seat and check the electronic screen showing your place in line. I have never experienced longer wait times than they originally estimated. I have used the online system but mostly I just show up. The staff, including the doctors and nurses, are all professional, polite, and very competent in my experience; they quickly discuss your issue and get to the cause and solutions.

His approach is to avoid surgery when possible and steer patients towards conservative treatments. When I do see his surgical patients they all do very well and have an easier time in their recovery than most. I have sent my family to Dr. Fenkell as well.

An update to my review above re: Dr. Fenkell and his staff. After I posted my review, I went as far…read moreas to email the review to insure that not only did the staff receive it, but also in hopes the doctor would see it as well....clearly it wasn't important to any of them. I had an MRI done, which didn't turn out very well because I'm using MyChart, I get results usually before my doctor. I called two days after the results were posted to MyChart. The staff first told me that they didn't have the results.... If I had them, so did they!!! They were just upset at my well deserved review. When I called the second and 3rd time, they said they took the msg and would have the doctor call me later that day. That was almost a week ago. Now when I call, they just ship me to voicemail. So either the doctor didn't get the msgs, or he is complicit in his staff's ineptitude. I have filed a complaint with Corwell & Henry Ford, LARA, the state website for keeping doctors in check and that they're following their oath "Do No Harm!!." My MRI results were fairly bad, my PCP says that due to the severity of the injuries in my lumbar I should have been contacted immediately. Clearly they were offended at my honest assessment, but now that 2 star rating, which is now getting a well deserved 1 star review and assessment applies to Dr. Fenkell as well for not even having the professionalism to call me regarding my results, let alone what I should do from here. I also spoke with my PCP who has taken Dr. Fenkell off of his recommendation list, and is requesting the rest of his partners to follow suit. This is the most unprofessional that I have ever been treated by what are supposed to be objective medical professionals. I hope they recieve the treatment that they deserve!!!

What I appreciate most is that he actually listens. He takes your concerns seriously, asks the right questions, and works with you to figure out what may be going on rather than rushing through the appointment or immediately reaching for a quick fix. I also really value his focus on the bigger picture. He looks at lifestyle, habits, and overall health and tries to address the root of the issue whenever possible. You can tell he genuinely wants his patients to feel better and stay healthier long-term. It's rare to find a doctor who combines this level of knowledge with such a patient, practical approach. FRAUD! This place Dr. Lawrence practices at should be called "The Endocrine Learing Center". First…read moreyou will only speak to the actual Dr. on your 1st visit, every time following that you will only speak with their "assistant". The assistants are good, but seem to be over worked because they NEVER follow up on anything they discuss with you. You will have to continuously call back to request for follow up on the things you discussed with them. I went in for an insulin pump on my 1st visit and gave up after a year of seeing no progress. I went to my PCP instead and had a pump within a month. You will also have to wait at least 6 months to get an appointment to speak with these "assistants". Here's the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. I had a heart attack and while in the hospital one of the Doctors from this fraudulent office stopped into my room each day. They looked at my blood pressure and said, "Your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later to discuss your diabetes with you." They never stopped back later to discuss my diabetes but came back the very next day with the exact same story..."your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later." When I reviewed my hospital billing, those visits where they stopped in to tell me my blood pressure looked good were billed as "Endocrine Specialist Diabetes Counselling". This is obviously insurance fraud and likely the reason you can never see the actual Doctor at your office visits. The Doctors are too busy scanning the patient logs at the hospitals to see who has diabetes so they can make these 5 minute blood pressure comment visits and charge them as diabetes specialist counselling visitations while they have hired assistants acting as Doctors at their office. Don't just walk, but RUN away from this fraud of a Doctor!

She is thorough without being judgmental and offers a fresh, thoughtful approach to treatment. She listens and never interrupts and truly is caring and attentive. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about new treatment options, is updated and well-read on many health issues that concern her patients. I'm not sure how she has time to read every study, blind trial, and medical journal out there, but she has! It might take awhile to get an appointment, but that just speaks to her popularity as more patients find her and love her.
