Until meeting Dr. Bassora, we'd visited a number of orthopedic doctors and pain management specialists, receiving numerous injections, and MRIs, and other costly visits, appointments and procedures over the course of 7 months and had pretty much resigned myself to shoulder surgery. Dr. Bassora asked me to let him try injections one more time with him, and maintain physio therapy. Over the course of three months my shoulder returned to almost normal, pain has gone and I'm free to enjoy life again. Truly grateful and happy to have received the wisdom and treatment from Dr. Bassora. Recommended!

They do not look at their patient's charts. They will test you and use you as a guinea pig. It's play time for them. I was nearly healed thanks to my amazing chiropractor, who always had to undo the damage these so-called "doctors" would do by telling a person with a disc herniation from a car accident their kooky version of what physical therapy is -- like: walking across the gym floor holding a 20 pound dumbell in one hand and a 5 pound dumbell in another, while walking on my heels!! NOTE, I am petite, only a size 4 and not even 120 pounds! Plus, I had an injury! I was in so much pain, their Director of Operations (DoO), said I'd do better in their West Caldwell facility. (I later realized DoO was not concerned about me, but rather pushing the new West Caldwell facility! I was such a fool for listening to this snake oil salesman!) Anyway husband took a day off work to meet with him. And my husband said, "Just because my wife is in great shape, it doesn't mean she's not in pain." He looked my husband right in the eye and promised my husband that I'd be in good hands in West Caldwell. WRONG! I actually was okay until the PT I was working with went on vacation. Before this, I was 5-days straight absolutely pain free! THEN they paired me with a so-called "doctor" who thought it was okay to bend over and do repetitive squats with my butt sticking out holding a 10 pound weight. And I told her, "MY CHIROPRACTOR SAID NO SQUATS!" She did not listen and insisted it was okay. Her sassy remark was, "You carry groceries, don't you?" So rude and foolish! Uh, ma'am, no, my husband carries my groceries. And when I do carry groceries, I don't do squats with them. DUH! Anyway, after this so called "doctor" (who I looked up and is just a mere prenatal Pilates instructor, not at all a doctor) had me in such horrible pain!! I couldn't sleep that night and was crying in my husband's arms for hours. During the night I sent several emails to express my concern to the director of operations who promised me I'd be in good hands. ALSO NOTE, he said that this "doctor" reviewed my case. She reviewed NOTHING! She blindly made me do squats holding a 10 pound weight when I told her NO. THEN she asks me where the disc herniation was. I said, "Didn't you look at my chart?" She admitted she did not look at my chart. Caught in a lie. The DoO assured me that she read my chart. The owner Jack, sends me an email saying that I was the problem and that I'm stressing out their people. LMAO! Oh, dear, I am so sorry that I expressed I was in pain because your people don't know how to listen or how to read people's charts. THEN my husband called to speak with them directly. And in a cowardly manner, NO ONE got on the phone to speak with my husband. Is this how you treat your patients? Unacceptable. YOU ARE A FAILURE! Go on Google and you will see that other people dislike this place too and give bad reviews. It's one month since that pilates instructor got her paws on me and I'm still not feeling as good as I was beforehand. DO NOT GO HERE! These people are inexperienced and not passionate about their work at all. In fact the "doctor" said the reason she was in physical therapy was because she didn't want to go to medical school. She was also telling me about her divorce, which was unprofessional. I'm a patient -- I do not care about your life, honestly. I tell everyone how bad this place is. Other doctors shake their heads when I explain what happened here. One month later I'm still shaking my head. It's truly baffling. I have many friends in Livingston, West Caldwell, and Little Falls and told them to spread the word, not to go to this facility. It's an epic FAIL!

At first I went through the pain medication route, which at the time the medical industry was handing out oxycodone like TicTac's. It seemed to work for a little while, but never got me back on my feet entirely. I'm cursed with the issue of not getting the benefit while still getting all the negative effects of the narcotic. A friend recommended Commons chiropractor center. Before I was injured, I wasn't a believer, I never thought it could help me. In fact, it took me almost 2 months of convincing actually walk into his office. I've been to two other chiropractors prior to that, and they were either too cautious or not strong enough to manipulate what they needed to because my work required a lot of heavy lifting and my muscles were tight . I have to say after the first visit, I noticed a dramatic difference. And it only got better after that. There must be 15 or 20 chiropractors between my home and commons chiropractor center. The first time I went for my current injury, I had to wait for almost a half hour. I was then told that I could come back another day because the DPT was busy. I responded by saying I was there now. I'll wait. When I finally got in to get diagnosed, there were a ton of people in there. The DPT listened to my description of my injury and without even examining me, told me what my injury was. There were so many interruptions at this point I wanted to walk out. But, I stayed to a continuing stream of interruptions during the time on was on the examining table when she finally examined me, almost an hour after I walked in the door. Against my better judgment, I made another appointment. When I showed up for the next appointment, I again had to wait. Again, there were a ton of people there. The assistant PT had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and had to continuously go back and forth to the DPT who was again dealing with multiple people. I just walked out. They couldn't care less about me walking out and canceling all my appointments. Despite its name, this PT place isn't geared to athletic injuries. It is dominated by older people. (There is nothing wrong with that. Just don't advertise that you gear to sports. For example, the DPT clearly wasn't an athlete.) It appears that the service that was once the cornerstone of this place is gone. It seems that it is all about getting as many people in the door as possible (Read: $$$$). The pain came and left so I didn't bother treating it. Then I noticed months after I felt foggy, off balanced, anxious. I put it off as just a funk I was going through. I've had constant TMD and a migraine (first time in my life) for over a month and have tried my doctor, ENR, acupuncture, acupressure, amino therapy patches, medicine, message therapy, TMJ exercises only to have fleeting relief! The pain and despair has been debilitating and embarrassing. My dentist was fitting me for a Night Guard to help with my clenching and grinding when he had recommended Dr. Thomas. I decided I'd give it a shot because I would do anything to feel normal again. I'm so happy I did. Not only is Dr. Thomas truly passionate for what he does but he is extremely empathetic to his patients, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable about his work. My consultation shed a lot of light on how treatments work and how the atlas, body, and mind work in harmony. As I continue to do my own research I find so many eureka moments where unexplained symptoms would go untreatable by doctors that were in fact a direct symptom of my atlas. I have to totally differently look on how modern medicine approaches ailments. The onslaught of symptoms that occur when your body is out of line is unreal. It's easy to isolate a problem and try to remedy with medication but that is merely a mask and until you dig to the root the pain will always be lurking. Anyways! I had my first treatment yesterday and although I am still in pain I went from a 9 to a 4! I had a "impressive" misalignment and can already feel my entire body, literally top of head to toe, readjusting. I can not begin to describe how excited I am for my second, third, and so on. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Thomas for his precision, artistry, and knowledge of the body and his craft. I don't think I could ever recommend somebody more.
