It was a sweltering hot day on July 22, 2025, but my daughters, our dog, and I enjoyed this place anyway. The park, named after a for parks and recreation director named Julius Breckling (not listed on this Yelp page with his name), was huge - 39 acres huge. Lol. The cons were: - trash scattered sparingly on the ground - sus characters - some areas that were worn out/ run down - parking fees (see below) - no restrooms available - none that we saw Pros: + amphitheater + dogs on leashes okay + playground area + sculptures throughout + shaded sitting areas + splash pad (there were two of them, but only one was operable that day) + terraces + walking paths + water fountains + nearby pedestrian bridge + The Little Rock monument near the bridge Parking was $3 per hour for 8 hours maximum - enforced 24/7. The kiosk accepted coins or card payment only.

In fact it didn't interest my big kids all that much. There wasn't a "can we go back to the other park?" It was, "we're going back to the other one. Bye, Mom." Lol. Just a reminder parents, please teach your kids to pick up their trash right before you leave. It's good for them and helps us all enjoy the park much more. It is named after Margaret Clark in appreciation of her longtime commitment to children and her interest in Riverfront Park. Her husband William E. Clark, has a wetlands park, down the street from this one by the Clinton Library, that is dedicated to him as well. It is very nice and welcoming. You know you have found the park when you see the twin sheep sculptures, Bliss and Glee, which are the work of Giuseppe Palumb. The park also has a hippopotamus sculpture named Roundbottom, that serves double duty as a bench. It is the work of Tim Cherry. The park opened in 2018 and still looks relatively new. It was designed for children ages 2-5 and is on artificial grass and mud free rubber surface. The park appears to have a nature theme and has a bank of traditional/toddler swings, rocks to climb, percussion instruments, bridges, slides, stand and spin, and a spinning cone climber. The slides are small and there is not much there as far as equipment goes, so I do not see the park entertaining kids much older than 5. It is a nice park though and well maintained. I have no issue with them catering to pre-school kids because sometimes the littles get over run over and pushed to the side by the big kids at other parks. This is not a destination park, but it is nice spot to visit if you are in the area with little kids and some time to kill.

We started in the visitor center with Wi-Fi, maps, and a small gift shop. We followed the trails down to the marina. We passed campsite's & pullouts. Kayaks, paddle boats, pontoon boats are all available. There was a small beach with two people sitting on chairs.

Many boaters, some swimmers (with designated areas and beaches even), some fishermen, and hikers scattered this area of Arkansas just outside of Hot Springs. It was fairly hot when we went, but still good fun and beautiful scenery. If time had permitted, I would have liked to take my daughters to Three Sisters Springs and other places. We instead stayed at Echo Canyon which is not technically part of the state park, but exists on Lake Ouachita.

The Old Mill is a beautiful spot in North Little Rock, AR amongst a charming neighborhood…read more It's listed as a National Register of Historic Places. Rightly so... the mill is supposedly the "last standing structure" from the movie "Gone With The Wind." The gates opened at 8 AM. Entry was free. By the time we got there, a small group was already taking professional-like photos of their model. The landscaping was nicely manicured. Some of the plants and flowers or trees were labeled with little signs. My girls liked climbing up into the replica "water-powered grist mill." We didn't stay long as dogs were not allowed on the grounds. Our dog stayed in my Jeep while the air-conditioning was on since it was in the upper 80s already. It's fun and easy to reach/enjoy with family friendly opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, grilling, camping (cabins available too) - very close to Hot Springs which has a lot of beauty from the National Park in downtown to the lookout tower atop the highest point in downtown - including the natural hot springs which makes this place famous for America's first off season professional baseball camps and the likes of gangsters and movie stars all mingled alongside the everyday persons enjoying the same or hanging out at the horse races. It's a cool place to visit and you'll have a super time at the park - with other states parks and lakes and rivers/hiking and nature all around!

Lake Catherine-- We absolutely love this lake!…read more Although, I felt like things were not labeled as they should have been during the hike of "Falls Creek Falls". There were marks on trees during the hike that were red, white and yellow, but I had no idea what those meant. Maybe this part of town is less touristy and more locals, because people had set up hammocks, and all of their things that they needed for the night/day around the waterfall after the hike. I spoke to a sweet man and woman on a golf cart who seemed to work there, as they were going around and changing papers for the reservations for there were trailers in the parking lot, and they advised us on where to go and park. They did advise us that if you go on the trails, if you go towards the left, the hike is shorter and it's about a 1/2 a mile, and if you go towards the right, it's about a mile and a 1/2 Which is a great tip because, of course, we wanted to take the shorter route. We had a toddler and an elderly person with us, and so we did not want to do a strenuous hike. This hike was just enough for us to feel better adventurous, and like we accomplished something when we got to the falls. The falls were beautiful, and the water looked gorgeous. Although, I did see later on another app, that a lot of times sewer water gets into the falls. Unfortunately, we had decided to take a dip even though we didn't have swim suits just because it looks so refreshing but it's just something to keep in mind. Overall, we would definitely come here again! It looks like a great place to bring lunch and hang out and eat after a great hike!

This park is actually pretty nice. It's in a crappy area. Such a shame. Playground is pretty cool. Rubberized ground cover is super soft and clean- unlike wood chips. There is a great looking splash pad here to cool off on a hot day. Unfortunately our whole experience was soured by that lady. Wish this place was crawling with kids but it's probably bc of the area.

Being a solo traveling person, I totally feel safe at this park. Many different trails to take. The trails leading to the water was my favorite. I end up just watching people riding their boat and water skiing. Great place to have a picnic also. The fishing pier is my favorite spot to get some sun in and there is a bench there that you can just sit and look out. If you really look, you will find a spot you can actually go down to swim. Not sure if it's safe and permit. Take a look at my picture I posted to see if you can find the spot. BTW, getting to the park is easy breezy but when it's time to get out the park, use caution. Cars coming all different directions with the slopes!
